Man Kills Girlfriend Before Committing Suicide Inside Florida Gun Range

Orlando, Florida – Police say that after 24-year-old Ryan Ray Scurlock shot his girlfriend to death he went to a local shooting range, rented a gun and after firing a few rounds he fatally shot himself. Police say that before Scurlock entered the Gallery Gun Range on Saturday, he sent some disturbing text messages to friends stating that he had just become a murderer and had killed his girlfriend, 21-year-old Jennifer Lynn Roqueta. Scurlock and Roqueta had recently broken up but friends say they had recently began dating again. During their investigation into Scurlock’s suicide, police would perform a well-being check and find Roquetta, along with one of her dogs, dead inside her apartment. “She was a sweet girl. She didn’t deserve what happened to her,” said Roquetta’s coworker John Adams. ”(Scurlock) was always kind of weird, but I never thought something like this was going to happen,” Adams said. A security camera captured Scurlock’s suicide, so I expect a LiveLeak video at some point.

      Not to be picky (okay, yeah, being picky), but….

      Dearest Morbid, I do believe it should be “range.” Rage does seem to fit, just not in that particular sentence! ;-)

      And yeah, this guys looks just as weird as the co-worker claims he acted. What a mess. I wonder if he got back together with her just so he could get close enough to kill her.

      I agree, another act of public service. I hate it for his GF but at least he is saving the rest of us from looking at his nasty ass pic while he gets to enjoy decades of his civil rights.

      At first I was thinking this was going to be like the mom who shot her son and herself at the shooting range, which was ultra weird. Then saw that he had killed her first. Sad, its always more frustrating when they kill themselves after, its almost like they get a free pass.

      I'm genuinely surprised this (suicide/murder at a gun range) sort of thing doesn't happen more often.

      First if you know of someone who is thinking of suicide try to connect them to help or call 211. Secondly Ryan was not as creepy as his mug shot may show, Randomdude was right, who doesn't look creepy in a mug shot. Assume there are variables we don't fully understand, and may never will. It is a loss, I'm sure ryan and Jennifer will be missed.
