Man Killed Niece’s Boyfriend Then Drank His Blood In Front Of Children

Bartow, FL- There is not a lot of information on this story, but the few details provided are truly horrific. Mauricio Lopez was not happy about the relationship between his niece, Mirella Mendez, and Macario Cruz. Around 9:30 p.m. on August 1, Lopez smashed through a window of his niece’s home, locked the doors and began stabbing Cruz repeatedly in the heart and liver while her four children watched. Lopez then took a cup of Cruz’s blood and said, “The devil tells me his life is now mine and I’m going to drink it.” The terrified children watched in horror as Lopez then drank the blood. Lopez left the house on foot and, after a three day search, was later arrested as he was walking down the street. Mendez says her four sons now have trouble sleeping and they scream, cry, and yell “don’t kill him” in the night. Police say that this is one of the most gruesome acts they have ever investigated in the city of Bartow.

    If he ain't insane, burn the fucker. That was so wrong on so many levels. Just kick the kids ass, tell him to leave your niece alone, and then enforce it. Drinking blood doesn't even get you drunk! Stupid ass.

    Ok, this is still a HORRIBLE story, but this makes a little more sense. Seems these two men and the woman were roommates. The woman was married to this assholes nephew… or is it brother… I dunno, this sentence from the article has my head in circles:

    It is odd these three would be living together… but anyway, the article also says this:

    Yeah, we see how well that worked for him.

    It's be cheaper to send him back to Mexico let Cruz's family take care of him.
    Maybe they'll drink his blood too?
    Somehow I doubt he's here legally and our tax dollars don't need to be spent “rehabilitating” him. America has plenty of criminals of the homegrown variety to ” rehabilitate”.
    What a total sicko he has really hurt those children.

    From Florida originally, familiar with the Hispanic population.
    I would think the majority of South Florida's Hispanic population would be Cuban at least it used to be called little Havanna not Tijuana.
    Why I doubt he's legal:
    To be granted permanent residence in this country:
    You can be sponsored by a relative
    or/and
    Sponsored by an employer
    or/and
    granted asylum status
    He might be a refugee if he's a Cuban dissident but since he's practicing Mexican drug cartel evil magic. I highly doubt he's Cuban.
    I would be totally floored if an employer sponsored him.

    What are the chances of his family sponsoring him?

    Mariella Mendez and Cruz's wife were sisters. Lopez was the sisters' uncle, and Cruz was married to one sister, having an affair with the other. That was how I interpreted that sentence (finally) – if anyone is interested. Regardless of who is related to whom, what an absolutely appalling thing to do to anyone.

    What makes you think he wasn't born in the United States?

    I'm not trying to bust your chops; I just don't see anything in the story that suggests he was a foreigner. There are lots of Mexican Americans and we have plenty of homegrown sickos, as the other stories on this site unfortunately show.

    I hope you’re right. If he’s an illegal alien perhaps he might be deported and we’ll be rid of his presence for the two or three weeks that it will take him to coyote his way back in. I guess that’s better than nothing. If he’s here legally or a U.S.-born citizen, we’re stuck with him and can only hope that he doesn’t pass his nutcase genes down to some unlucky kids.
