ROCHESTER HILLS, Mich. — After two separate incidents involving one of their neighbor’s pit bulls, residents of Rochester Hills have had enough. Larry Adams said on Monday his son was walking Pebbles, a 5-month-old Jack Russell terrier, when two pit bulls jumped out of the open window of a car and began attacking her. He said his son tried to hold Pebbles up and out of the reach of the attacking dogs, but he eventually lost his grip and the dog was mauled to death. According to neighbors, this isn’t the first incident with the dogs. “My kids were attacked in our own back yard … they went through the gates attacked my daughter and she was mauled for several minutes,” said one mother in the neighborhood. The owner lived right around the corner and Oakland County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that it did removed one dog from the house. The owner also tried to apologize to Larry Adams, but Adams didn’t want to hear it. He wants criminal charges filed against the owner and new laws put in place to keep things like that from happening again.…

DOVER, N.H. — I really thought we featured this story, but a search turns up nothing. Anyway, remember the kid who was in shop class when he attached electrical clamps to his nipples and had his heart stop when he plugged in the cord?  Yeah well, he and his parents are suing the teacher, the school district and the city of Dover. For those of you who do not remember this, back in March, 17-year-old Kyle Dubois was in an electrical trades class where the instructor was teaching about electricity using some electrical demonstration cords. At some point, Dubois attached a clamp to each of his nipples then another student plugged in the cord.  As you can imagine, the results weren’t exactly what anyone was expecting. Critically injured, he staggered and collapsed having gone into cardiac arrest. He survived, but his parents say he now suffers from brain damage (which some may argue he was suffering from before he attached the clamps to his nipples) and the teacher, Thomas Kelley is at fault.…

Lawrenceville, GA — I held off on this one because I was hoping he would be found already, but police are still searching for 10-year-old Mario Taddeo who went missing after leaving a friend’s house yesterday afternoon. After coming home from Alcovy Elementary School, Taddeo visited a friend in the neighborhood. At around 3 p.m. he started walking back home. He has not been seen since. Police searched the surrounding area that night using a helicopter and K-9 units. Gwinnett police are now asking authorities in Gainesville and Hall County for help after there search turned up no sign of Taddeo. He was last seen wearing a gray Polo shirt with red stripes, dark blue jeans and red shoes. “Whoever knows about my kid, please call us, call the police, call me,” his mother pleaded. “My kid has nothing to do with all the craziness going on in the world. Please give me back my kid.” Update: Channel 2 Action News reported late Tuesday morning that the boy’s mother told them he had been found safe in Hall County.…

INGLEWOOD, CA — Witnesses say a woman walked into the courtyard of an apartment complex Saturday with a 3-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl. She asked some residents if they had seen the boy’s father to which they replied they had not. She then walked the children to the children’s pool and left them there. Witnesses say the children were crying after her, but she told them to stay put as she drove away in a car with no plates. Another resident at the apartments took the kids in and fed them dinner thinking someone would be by to pick them up. When no one showed, and no one at the complex recognized the pair, police were called. The children told police their names are Kayshawn and Kimberly Denver and that they are brother and sister. After airing their faces on television, relatives of the children contacted police. According to this report, police may have identified and contacted their parents. Real interested to hear the reason why these kids where abandoned like that.…

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Saturday, a person house sitting for a friend noticed a foul smelling liquid dripping into the fireplace. She used a flashlight to investigate and found the rotting corpse of doctor Jacquelyn Kotarac stuck in the flue. The 49-year-old had once been involved with the man who lived there and earlier in the week had tried to force her way into the home. The man, William Moodie, chose technique number 14 from Morbid’s Handbook For Dealing With Crazy Women and snuck out of the house unnoticed. Police believe that Koterac then used a ladder to gain access to the roof, removed the chimney cap and then slid down the fireplace feet first where she learned a valuable lesson about chimney construction. The Bakersfield Fire Department spent five hours dismantling the chimney and flue to remove Kotarac’s body. Neighbors were as shocked over the news as her patients were. “I don’t care who your are — a doctor, lawyer, garbageman — I think you can snap over any kind of heartache,” one neighbor said.…

Mocksville, NC — Busy, busy! Got a busy day today but here are a few stories making the rounds this morning. Starting with this poor guy who was turned into a chew toy by his neighbor’s three boxers. According to their owner, Ralph Kimery, the dogs have never shown any signs of aggression before including other times David Potts has been by his home. But on Sunday evening, the dogs thought Potts looked mighty tasty. After encircling him they latched on to his legs and arms biting of chunks. They did not stop attacking until Kimery called them off. “I couldn’t have lasted much longer, and it seems like the dogs had no intentions at all of stopping. So I don’t know if they would have,” Potts said. “I was fighting for my life and they would have killed me.” He would require 30 stitches on his arms and legs. The dogs were taken to the animal shelter, where they were under quarantine. Kimery has owned the dogs for three years, and states that if they are determined to be viscous, he’ll have no choice but to have them put down.…

BARTOW, Fla. — Timothy Hammerstone, 22, is facing 16 counts of possessing child pornography after he convinced a 10-year-old boy to send him nude pictures in exchange for Xbox Live points. He explained he needed the pics because he was gay and that his mother would not let him look at pornography. the boy agreed and Hammerstone bought him a separate, secret Live account the boy would use to send pornographic images of himself. Deputies searched Hammerstone’s home where he lived with his sister and and found 16 images of child porn on his Xbox. They confiscated the console as well as some computer equipment. His sister feels her brother, who was employed  at Disney’s Hollywood Studios as a AMC Theater concession clerk, is facing an unfair fate. “He needs help,” Sarah Hammerstone said on Facebook. “Other people can go out there and rape and keep doing it and get a slap on the wrist, and [Timothy] is going [to] serve life in prison.” oO. His brother went on to add that the 10-year-old lied about his age.…

PALM BAY, Fla. — Nothing points to you having a drinking problem like getting busted for DUI while picking your kids up from school. Andrea Vellender, 38, pulled into the bus lanes at Christa McCauliffe Elementary School at around 2:30pm Wednesday and accidentally bumped into the back of a van. When school staff came out to investigate, they knew something was wrong with her and called police instead of letting her child get in the vehicle. Police arrived and noted her eyes were glassy and bloodshot. They asked her to perform some sobriety tests that she failed with flying colors, and administered two breathalyzer tests that revealed her blood-alcohol content was .240 and .241 — three times over the legal limit. To add to her legal problems, before she was taken to jail police found half a Xanax in her purse. She admitted that she did not have a prescription for the pill and that her husband gave it to her. She is now facing charges of drunk driving and drug possession charges.…

Walmart Employee Sucker Punched By Shoplifters

August 30, 2010 at 7:00 am by

GOLDEN, Colo – Last Friday a Walmart employee had a pretty bad day after having the living daylights knocked out of him by a man who was part of a group of shoplifters. The attack happened after three individuals left through the garden center entrance pushing a cart full of stolen merchandise setting off the anti-theft alarm. When an employee followed them outside to see what was going on, a third suspect punched him in the head from behind…the guy never saw what hit him. Even worse is that the blow knocked him forward, causing him to land on the shopping cart with his face. He suffered serious facial injuries, including a blow to the head, a cut on his nose and black eyes. So far two of the men have been captured by police. Joe David Lucero, 34, and Jose Antonio Cruz, 19, are currently in jail on felony charges and both have violent records. Police would like to get the remaining two off the street. If you have any information on this, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is asking you call the Sheriff’s Office tip line at 303-271-5612.…

Gainesville, FL – According to police, Joshua Porter, 24, and his 66-year-old girlfriend were in the middle of a heated argument last Wednesday when things started to get a little rough. And weird. When the victim tried to leave the room, Porter allegedly slammed her hand in a door, shoved her on the couch, twisted her nose and beat her about the head with couch pillows before forcing her to kiss a picture of her dead husband. I’ll give you a minute to let that all that sink in. When she tried to exit the room a second time, Porter blocked the door. I gotta wonder what the hell is up with the picture of the dead husband and his desire to see her kiss it? Freak. The tension between the two eventually faded and the woman was allowed to leave. Porter was later arrested and charged with one count of false imprisonment. I’m not even going to touch on the age thing. Though it icks me out a bit, they are both of age.…

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Some of you may remember 53-year-old Jeannine Campbell from earlier this year. She is the nanny that got busted after a hidden camera captured her beating on an 11-month-old boy she was caring for. On Friday she was sentenced to eight years in prison and seven additional years of probation. She was allowed to read an apology letter to the parents of the boy expressing her remorse. “My heart is screaming every day. I’m so very sorry. I had never behaved so horribly,” Campbell read. “It’s hard to cope with what I did. I can’t believe that someone could do it, and, my God, it was me.” She admitted that at the time of the incident she was angry at the family, but didn’t remember actually abusing the boy. This was later proven to be a lie via jail house phone calls to her husband (listen to them here) in which she admits to abusing the boy. The parents weren’t in a very forgiving mood, calling Campbell’s reasons for hitting their son “sorry excuses” and requested the judge sentence her to the maximum 15 years behind bars.…
