Woman Loses Arm Dancing In Front Of Train

MELBOURNE, Fla. - More news involving someone getting a bit too close to a train. Fortunately this person survived, though they are a bit lighter. Witnesses say a 27-year-old woman was dancing on some train tracks before her arm was ripped off by an oncoming train. Lucky for her an unidentified policeman who arrived on the scene applied a tourniquet to her stump as she laid conscious and bleeding to death, probably saving her life. She was rushed to the hospital where she was listed in critical condition. Police say she and another man, possibly her boyfriend, where walking near the train crossing at around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday when they got into an argument. The woman then jumped on the tracks, but was unable to get clear of the train when she tried to jump back off of them.

      Since there is an ongoing investigation is it not remotely possible she was pushed, especially considering the alleged argument. News stories, especially on the internet, are often misreported and sometimes use unreliable sources and jump to conclusions. We simply do not have all the facts and all we can be sure of is that she lost her arm while being hit by a train.

      It takes a special kind of stupid to get hit by a train. Its not like they can sneak up on you.

      That said, I am glad she survived.

      Yes, it is possible she was pushed and it is true that information can be misconstrued.

      If she was pushed, or was on the tracks due to a mental or intellectual disability, then it wasn't her fault and I'm glad that quick-thinking officer was there to save her. I hope she recovers as well as can be expected. I also hope they find whoever pushed her and prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law. Train tracks are not the place to be engaging in tomfoolery!

      However, if she was not mentally disabled in any way, was not pushed and was indeed on the train tracks intentionally, then I'm truly sorry it was just her arm that got amputated. She would have made an excellent candidate for the Darwin Awards. I have a low tolerance level for stupid people. Train tracks are a dangerous place and it's best to avoid them at all costs.

      I'm withholding personal judgment until (and if) more details arise. Victim of a terrible accident or idiot that missed being selected out? Time will tell.

      You'd be “truly sorry it was just her arm got amputated” if she was just being a fool? Damn, that's harsh. Yeah, if she had been hit or even killed due to her own foolishness, I certainly wouldn't shed any tears but regretting that they weren't killed just for being an idiot is pretty cold.

      Personally, I save my hate and ill wishes for murderers, rapists, child abusers, guys that beat on chicks, violent thugs and so forth. That said, at least you are willing to suspend judgement, but damn . . . . .

      ladies, there’s a lesson to be learned here. never argue with your other half near a train track and then get mad and pretend to commit suicide to get his attention. no…no…no! if you truly want attention or just to get even maybe, when you see that dim light coming your way, push him in that direction instead! if he keeps you up in the night for a midnight stroll just to bitch, he’s not really worth your heart anyway…or arm for this matter. lesson learned! btw, i hope it wasn’t the arm attached to her writing hand. after witnessing a previous boyfriend break his hand by punching a metal picnic table back in high school over jealousy (of course!) and have to learn how to write with the other one just temporarily and recieving love notes that had to be decoded was a real bitch!
