San Quentin - Many of you are already familiar with Edward Schaefer – for those who aren’t, you can catch up by reading the story we posted on him in June of last year. To recap, Schaefer, a habitual drunk driver, was shit-faced and speeding when he blew through a stop sign on his Harley and plowed into 9-year-old Melodie Osheroff and her father, Aaron, as they crossed the street in the crosswalk. As a result, Melodie lost her life and Aaron lost a leg. Schaefer’s courtroom antics showed him to be callous, uncaring and unremorseful, as is evident by the picture attached to this story. On July 13th, Schaefer was sentenced to 24-to-life for second-degree murder and gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated. Just 10 days into his sentence, Schaefer was shanked in the yard. Charged with the stabbing is 31-year-old Frank Anthony Souza, a convicted killer with little to lose. Souza, serving 60-to-life, reportedly stabbed Schaefer with a metal knife-like object at least half a dozen times, killing him. The motive behind the attack is unclear. While I’m not about to shed a single tear for the callous bastard, I can’t help but feel he got off easy. He truly deserved hard time – by hard time I mean 24+ years of daily, unlubricated, angry convict anal rape.

It's apropos that one batshit crazy fucker took out another batshit crazy fucker.

Remember, kids: don't drink and drive and be a douchebag!

Revenge is a dish not unlike gazpacho.

Ahhhh….good news. This is a great way to start the day !

  • Breadstix

What a nice story, although I do agree with the years of unlubed ass rape.

  • Jury

Jaded, who the hell would want that ass? Yuk!

    Justice is served.

Meh….I'm sure some of those cons ain't too picky.

  • cplpunishment

    Yuk brain bleach needed.

  • Soobs

    Souza seems happy. That's good.

  • DaBigKoasta

This is quite possibly the best news I've heard in a long time. I followed that story closely, and awaited updates from Mr. Osheroff on the story when it was going on. Mr. Osheroff was commenting on this website a couple weeks ago I believe. I also wanted him to do hard time, but you take what you can get I guess.

Thank you, Mr. Crazy Guy. And might I add, that is a bitchin' moustache/beard combo you got going on there. Very nice.

  • Noel99

Mr. Souza should be given full clemency for such a heroic and selfless act.

  • Ninja108

    I wouldn't call him a hero…he's a neo-nazi serving a life sentence for brutally kicking a man to death.
IMO, old Ed finally applied his callous attitude in life to the wrong person…someone who values human life as much he did… which is none.

  • arallyn

Ugh, a good friend of mine had her mom and both of her siblings killed by a drunk driver…I wish that he wouldn't have died in the hospital so that he could have at *least* gotten this much! Though he really deserved the 24+ years of violent convict rape. He was a serious habitual, too, with 3 DUIs to his name and a couple half-assed attempts at rehab (but he somehow was STILL a WI highway patrol officer in good standing…fuck this state).

  • KAOS

Allllllrrrrright! I was just thinking I need a break from all this horror and then a feel good story, brought by the wonderful, talented Jaded,. Ah Jaded, my love for you grows stronger by the day. Morbid who?

WOW! Great! What a way to start my day. That is amazing!

Thanks for that update Jaded! Youre the best!

I wonder how Mr. Osheroff and fam feel?

  • littlemoonseductress

I can't help but think that Schaefer couldn't control the jerk in his personality and made fun of Souza's tats. Now anyone that can endure a face tat is someone I am personally not going to mouth off to. Neck ones are bad enough. But to get one on the face OUCH. I am a proud tat person myself, ten and counting. But no face ones for me NO WAY! I can't see Souza doing this for any reason but for himself, certainly not for the good of the human race. IMO

According to the source link, I think Aaron and his wife would have preferred Schaefer to spend the rest of his life behind bars – they wanted him to remember why he was there, day in and day out.

Yhe a i get that. Completely. However, this guy was such a prick, I dont think he really cared about anything he actually did. Can I just say I absolutely HATE that picture of him too. It really rattles my brain inside and out. Fuckin callous asshole.

I hope that family can one day get peace.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

Dude, do you know why Souza is doing 60 to life? He beat a homeless guy to death after he stole the homeless guy's bicycle. He's not a hero–he's crazy.

  • DD_Twisted

Frankly, I'm glad he's gone. I realize it's against the wishes of the family, but if this guy ever got out again, more lives would be in danger on the road.

The best thing for everyone is that we are now completely certain he cannot get drunk and get behind the wheel, ever again. In some regards, Souza has done the world a service.

  • Sally Mischief

i dont know what's better… the fact that this guy got taken out the way he did or the white power tattoo and big smile on Souza's face… funny funny

  • J Van S

I don't know this, but imagine that Souza, crazy-violent-nazi-funk that he is… Might STILL feel the same way a lot of us do about kids, innocents and Family. So… To his (possible way of) thinking. White Guy gets drunk and carelessly kills little girl (while permanently maiming White Dad – I'm working off of the surname and not the picture of the poor little girl) EQUALS (as far as White Power goes) One White Guy The White World Can Do Without.

If the guy had been CRYING in the court photos and begging apology and forgiveness from the little girl's spirit, the court, the poor parents or… anyone… Maybe Souza would have taken him in as a road dog… but, who knows.

  • V Xiii

wish he wouldnt have died, he could have healed up, lived in fear, got shanked again, lived in fear some more, this could have been a cycle of abuse for him…

  • Guest420

Best story following the one where a kid saved his mom from being shanked to death. I agree he got off easy but JUSTICE SERVED!

  • sedation

I know! He has such a nice smile (he smiles with his eyes! could those be tears of happiness?) I could totally believe those tattoos are photoshopped. Now i have this weird urge to photoshop prison tats onto yearbook photos

  • Robert1

What is the address to send gifts to Mr. Crazy guy in lock up? MAYBE A NEW KNIFE OR SHANK REPAIR KIT! Finally some good news to start my day off.

  • guillotinegirl

Being the kind and compassionate person I am, let me just say this: HAHA!

  • benado

    I just did a little dance :)

  • eliz1bef

This is outstanding news. I just wish that the shank-wielding prisoner was less of a douche. I still could see sending him some cookies or a pie. Hero he ain't, but he was able to serve Schaefer the justice the system could never seem to muster up. Now if someone less objectionable could shank Sousa… The Circle of Shank!

  • Mrssteinbeck

    What.

  • That's Pretty Funny

I'm going to hold on to the hope that he got his poop shoot stuffed before (or perhaps during) his shank session. Maybe if we're lucky the shank got in on some of that action as well.

  • MapleApe

I agree that it would have been ideal to spend the rest of his miserable life in there. In fact one of the main reasons I am against the death penalty is not out of some sort of mushy compassion but that I think it is going to easy on the murderous scum. I mean, for crissakes, this is what we do with our beloved pets when they get too old or very ill. They get a shot and then they go to “sleep.” Even hanging or the chair is to quick for my tastes. I like life long incarceration because it forces the scumbags to face the consequences of their actions, preferably for decades.

That said there is one thing that makes me happy and satisfied with him punching out early like this. There is zero chance that he will be paroled and will ever harm anyone else. I can put aside my thirst for his suffering to find comfort in knowing that.

Thanks for the article. It made my day.

My thinking was that the killer should have done years of hard time. I was asked lately by a magazine about my thoughts on forgiveness. I'd read that forgiving is for yourself, not the other person, and that the other person doesn't even have to know you've forgiven him/her, let alone be alive. After the killer murdered my daughter and did this physical damage to me, of course I wanted to see him do hard time in prison. And now he's dead. Yes, I think that while being stabbed to death must have been horrible, he still got off easy. I do understand what others have posted, however.

My reason in coming back here is to thank you for your support over this horrible ordeal. As I've mentioned, I found this site while in the hospital, and have checked in from time to time over the months. Thanks for the support during time, and thanks for the support when “supporters” of Schaefer (and there weren't many of them so it's pretty obvious who they are) were posting disgusting, horrific posts about me/my murdered daughter, some of them with racial slurs as their post name.

Anyway, lots of challenges ahead, and good times as well.

I wish you all the very, very best.

    Thanks,
    Aaron

  • The_Shadow_Knows

I agree with this. However, I also think “life long incarceration” should mean breaking rocks and making license plates in the most unpleasant environment imaginable – not cable TV and conjugal visits.

  • MapleApe

    Amen to that.

  • Getrevenge333

    what is there to rationalize?

he deserved to do hard time but instead got the next best thing: sharp, cold steel right in the kidney

enjoy the torment in hell you bastard….
