Wayland Baptist University Instructor Allegedly Offered 12-Year-Old Girl Cash For Nudes

Tucson, AZ – Richard Wilson, an adjunct instructor for the Biology department at Wayland Baptist University, was recently arrested and charged with child molestation and sexual exploitation of a minor after he allegedly offered a 12-year-old girl “a large sum of money” to allow him to take pictures of her. Police say Wilson approached the girl in a McDonald’s parking lot Monday evening and made his offer. “It was less than one hundred dollars, but obviously to a small child, the sum of money was substantial,” Lieutenant Jeff Inorio said. The child hopped in the perv’s vehicle and allowed him to drive her to a nearby alley where he directed her to expose her privates while he pawed at her, snapped pictures and videotaped. Police say she was allowed out of the vehicle after a time and was able to jot down the creepy professor’s license plate number. That led officers directly to Wilson and he was arrested outside of the University on Tuesday. He was ordered held on $50,000 bond. Wayland University spokeswoman Elane Seebo said that because he wasn’t a full-time instructor, and because he taught a class designed specifically for adult learners, a background check wasn’t required. “He will not return to the classroom unless or until this is resolved in line with the values of a Christian university,” she said.

      Who said he told her what kind of pictures he would be taking. He could have said anything for example,” You look like you should be a model, let me take some pictures of you.” Again, this child is 12. Stop blaming the child and start blaming the correct person.

      Jesus, what's with the yelling? Elane Seebo made a perfectly reasonable statement as the spokesperson for a university–under what circumstances would such a spokesperson make a statement indicating belief in the arrested person's guilt or innocence before the person has been tried? She knows damn good and well that this issue will NEVER be “resolved in line with the values of a Christian university,” so she has all the bases covered regarding possible litigation.

      While I think this guy is disgusting and should ideally forfeit his balls, a 12 year old isn't exactly a “small child.” She really should have known better than to go with him and do this kind of thing.

      Hopefully her mother and father appreciate the fact that she's not dead in a ditch somewhere and will give her some remedial parenting stat. And hopefully Bubba will make this creep his bitch.

      What I don't understand is how come if all the christian authorities involved would give an a**hole like this kind ANY chance. While I am a Christian Catholic one at that too (yeah yeah let the Paedo-priest jokes begin) I understand the forgiveness part but NOT the forgetting part & if God gave us psychiatry then that means that these people CAN'T BE CURE DAMN IT!.

      No one's “blaming the victim.” I blame, obviously, the person whose balls I said should be cut off. But the fact is, the girl should have known – or been taught – not to go with strangers in exchange for gifts. That's Child Molestation Prevention 101, and it sounds like her parents failed. So in addition to this useless pervert, I have to blame her parents for not drilling it into her head not to take presents (and rides) from strangers. Thankfully it sounds like she suffered only psychological trauma, but it could have been much, much worse.

      Some people might argue it was good for a child to take his money and then turn him into the police for punishment. Obviously it was better for her to turn him in than not. But best of all would have been to avoid the situation entirely. A 12 year old is no match for an adult, and things can turn bad in an instant. She could be lying on a slab in the morgue right now. We all need to exercise vigilance to keep these creeps from harming children, and that includes parents teaching their children the right thing to do and children applying those teachings.

      Precisely why I have taught(drilled into their heads and practiced) my kids to never accept rides from ANYONE without our family “password” which only my husband, children,brother and I know. Not only does that prevent them (hopefully) from getting in cars with strangers but also from being duped by someone they know.
