Meriden, Conn. – Three teens were seriously injured after being caught trespassing inside the abandoned Undercliff Institution. The facility used to be a place to house dying children, and – as is usually the case with creepy, abandoned medical facilities – it’s supposedly haunted. Police say the trio may have considered themselves amateur ghost hunters. When deputies arrived at around 12:45 a.m. Tuesday, the boys pulled a Wile E. Coyote when they took off running into the woods and over the edge of a cliff. Though their injuries were not life-threatening, they were serious enough for one of the boys to use their cell phone to call police on themselves for help. I think the police may have simply followed the swath of shit the boys left, but I’m not sure. The unnamed teens were taken to the hospital and issued infractions for simple trespass. On the upside, the story of these three boys will be told in future Underhill urban legends, describing how three boys once broke into Underhill only to be found dead later, their naked bodies tied together in a knot and covered in the bloody handprints of children.

And here is a pretty good representation of ghost hunting in general:

Used to go “ghost hunting” all the time. Went into some pretty interesting places like the lakin home for colored boys over in Mason West Virginia. We was down in Pomeroy Ohio checking out some old victorian style motel. It was old as fuck and at one point some of us almost fell thru a set of stairs. Well, actually the stairs themselves about went, like the whole set. I LOVED that motel, was better than the Lakin house. I still remember our first steps into that place…

Went in thru the basement and we were gitty and giggling. I steped on something “plush” and said “eww I stepped on something squishy”, aimed the flashlight down to my foot and it was atop a dead black cat. Looked like it'd been dead some time, I think it was a bit mumified-no smell.

That is 2 funny! I have often wanted to go on a hunt where women and childred were running screaming for their lives but this takes the cake. I can just picture these boys doing this. Morbid your commentary is the best.

Why does all this ghost-hunting have to be in the total dark? If you're looking for shadows, wouldn't it be easier to spot them with the friggin' lights on? And wouldn't any ghosts worth their salt do their haunting while the lights were on as well as when they're off? Lame insignificant ghosts otherwise.

I don't believe in ghosts. The only thing that scares the crap out of me about old abandoned buildings (besides the rotting floorboards) are the homeless guys, druggies and gangbangers that hang out in them.

It makes it easier for teenagers to smoke wacky tobacky and imagine they see things.

Used to go check out old abandon buildings with a group of friends all the time. It was so much fun but yeah it was also dangerous. I think the dangerous part is what drawn me to it the most because I didn't do much anything else that was dangerous, other then trespassing on property looking for old abandon buildings, lol.

Undercliffe is a pretty creepy place and kids break in all the time. I'm surprised they got in because all the windows are boarded up from past break ins. I don't believe in ghosts and all that, but some creepy things have been seen there.

It sounds like something that would happen to me….only I don't have to go anywhere because my house is haunted and instead of falling off a cliff I fall down the stairs to the basement lol.
