Man Accused Of Beating Infant Son And Putting Him In A Freezer
June 30, 2010 at 1:28 am by FlamingFoxLas Vegas- On June 10, police were called to Sunrise Hospital to investigate injuries to a 4-month old infant. Medical personnel told the officers that X-rays showed the baby boy had a skull fracture and possible injuries to the ribs. The infant’s mother, 23-year old Mayra Meza-Irra, told police she was at work on May 27 and the child’s father, 25-year old Randy Thomsen was at home when the baby fell off the couch. (I bet every time the cops hear that bullshit excuse, they roll their eyes because I sure as hell do.) The officers learned that the infant was first was taken to another hospital on June 4 for X-rays and was transferred to Sunrise after skeletal tests showed the child had healing rib fractures and mild displacement. Medical records also showed Thomsen took the baby to a hospital on April 29 after the infant began having a seizure. Thomsen told the doctors that the baby was eating when his eyes rolled back and he became limp. The infant was diagnosed as having seizures caused by too high or too low sodium levels. Both parents were educated on the proper way to feed the baby because they had been mixing formula incorrectly.
When questioned, Thomsen stuck with his evil couch story. He told the officers that after the boy fell, he noticed a soft spot on the baby’s head that began to grow into a bump. Thomsen also said he could hear a cracking sound in the infant’s rib area when he would pick him up. Thomsen said the infant became ill on June 9 and they took him to see a doctor to describe the sound. It was then that a pediatric radiologist found the baby had four rib fractures that were 10 to 14 days old and authorities believe there might also be a fifth fracture. Medical personnel told the officers that not only were the rib fractures inconsistent with falling off a couch, the fractured ribs were not even on the same side of the body as the skull fracture.
Realizing the evil couch was no longer a suspect, Meza-Irra tried to place blame on her 5-year old daughter and said that she could have caused the injuries when she took the baby out of the crib. The detectives decided to interview the girl, and, let me tell you, I fucking LOVE it when kids finally get to tell their side of stories. They hold nothing back and it was from that little girl that the police finally got the truth about her brother’s injuries. The girl told the officers that Thomsen would often punch the baby in the head with his fist, place his hand over the baby’s mouth and shake, punch and kick him in the buttocks area. The girl also said Thomsen would put the baby in the freezer and shut the door. He would then take the infant back out and give him a bath. Thomsen only abused the baby while their mother was at work.
Thomsen told police he gets frustrated when the baby cries and has had to walk outside or turn up the TV volume. He denied purposely hurting his son but said he has been told that he doesn’t know his own strength. The fucking monster in human flesh was charged with one count of child abuse with substantial bodily harm. He has a criminal history that includes charges of battery with a deadly weapon with substantial bodily harm, battery with deadly weapon, attempted murder with deadly weapon and assault with a deadly weapon. He is a documented gang member. He has felony convictions for burglary and grand larceny from 2004. He also was convicted of gross misdemeanors for conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit battery with use of a deadly weapon. Thomsen is being held on $20,000 bail. I really hope Karma has this piece-of-shit on her to-do list. With all the stories we write every week, I don’t know how that bitch gets any rest.
