William Wilson Charged With Abducting, Raping Girl, 4

Logansport, IN – They have made an arrest in connection with the sexual assault of a 4-year-old girl found wandering the streets in the early morning hours of May 2. Yesterday police arrested 22-year-old William R. Wilson II, charging him with three counts of child molestation and one count of criminal confinement. He’s in the Cass County Jail on $500,000 cash bond and $1 million in surety. Police say Wilson, who the girl’s family does not know, took the little girl while she was sleeping. He then raped her in a nearby garage, strangled her and left her for dead. A city worker found her walking home in her nightgown carrying a blanket, covered in dirt and crying. Prosecutors will try everything they can to keep the girl off the stand. “This was a four-year-old girl taken from her home and having some of the worst things that can happen to a young girl happen. She’s four years old. That’s going to be extremely difficult for the prosecution, but we intend to do the best we can do,” said Prosecutor Kevin Enyeart, Cass County prosecutor. Williams has a criminal record, but not for any crimes like this.

Relieved that they caught the perp. Yet, highly disturbed still about this one. This one has touched a nerve. Personally I think they should cutt off every limb and just keep him alive his stump to roll around. Nasty fucker.

I have two beautiful 4 year old little girls. I have not let them sleep in the front room since the story was first posted. It has ruined their Saturday night ritual of popcorn and movies in the living room…I am sure that they hate me for it, but stories like this make you think just how easy it would be to lose them. I never would have thought twice about it until this story. What is happening to this world? I used to feel so safe.

I hate the fact that he may be able to bond out. People this dangerous should be remanded, in my opinion. What he (allegedly) did was violent and fucked up and his intent was for this little girl to be dead. He is a danger, and should not have the opportunity to bail out.

This just boggles the mind that the family didn't know this creep, at all! I was convinced that they did in the beginning. Chief Rozzi said the four-year-old victim was in the Logansport police office earlier today. He said she's doing very well, considering the circumstances, and physically she is looking much better.

OK, I’m aware that just because someone is accused doesn‘t mean they are guilty. I am also painfully aware that just because someone is convicted, acquitted, or found innocent, doesn’t mean are. You can make a special note that any time I am commenting on a story, you can put the words “if they are guilty” in the appropriate place. I think they need to have sufficient evidence to have arrested him for it. The trial, as far as I am concerned, is just a formality. I believe they are more often guilty than not, so I would rather go with the majority rules. In some cases you can see where there is room for error, but this one just doesn't scream it to me. All I can see in this case, is a tiny, bloodied little girl, crying, as she painfully walks home to where she will forever be scared that she'll be taken from again. I just want to wrap my arms around her and protect her from any harm ever again. Poor angel.

How ironic that the news had commented on the sheer number of RSOs in that area & then the investigation ends up pointing to someone with no history of sex crimes?? Scary huh??

This may sound a little bad but a lot of these child abuse cases that are so hard for me to stomach is that so many of them seem to be done by people that are close to the child. I hope this man burns in hell for what he did to this child but at least the child is going to be able to go home to loving parents & not have to worry about them being the ones that exposed her to this horrible excuse for a human being. I am a parent & can only imagine the pain that these parents must be feeling finding their child not only gone but to find that she had been subjected to such horrible & unspeakable abuse. If someone looks at my child for even a little too long or smiles at her I can’t help but wonder if they have less than pure intentions because that is the world we now live in. : (
