BENSALEM, Pa. — A former Sergeant of the Special Victims Division at the Bensalem Police Department has been arrested for sexual assault. On March 9, a woman reported that she was sexually assaulted by41-year-old Michael Marren after meeting him in a bar. She claims that at around 2:40 a.m., Marren took her to the Bensalem Rescue Squad where she worked as a volunteer EMT and Marren worked part-time as a medic. According to court records, Marren agreed to take the 23-year-old woman to the squad building but once parked, he leaned in and French kissed her. She told him he was making a mistake and went inside to use the bathroom. Marren allegedly followed her inside and sexually assaulted her in the women’s bathroom. After he was finished, it is reported he told the woman “I hope you are ok because I have a really good lawyer.” The woman was later found curled up and crying in a closet.  Marren claims the woman was upset because she put her hands down his pants and he turned her down having no further physical contact with her. But a physical examination of the woman and the fact that forensics found Marren’s saliva on the woman disputed that. He has since been charged with Involuntary Deviate Sexual Intercourse Felony of First Degree (4 counts), Aggravated Indecent Assault Felony of the Second Degree (3 counts), Sexual Assault Felony of the Second Degree (2 counts) and Indecent Assault Misdemeanor of the Second Degree (3 counts).

This one is a head scratcher, he had to know about the forensics so why is does his story not include the licking? Her theatrics seem over the top like something she copied off of the Lifetime channel. There is a missing piece here that we aren't seeing, maybe cop misinformation, bad/lazy reporting.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

“Theatrics?” Have you ever been sexually assaulted? Her reaction may seem melodramatic to you, but reactions to being sexually assaulted run the gamut from walling off and denying it happened to committing suicide.

  • Eracsurfer

EVIL, you are trying to reason with someone that believes that every woman must have done something to deserve whatever happened to them.

Either that, or they instigated whatever evil action that was taken by a man.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

Ah, point taken. I'm not used to seeing that kind of attitude outside of dating website forums.

  • Boringusername

Cry me a river, I am tired of hearing bullc*** about how “any or no reaction” is proof of assault. People for the most part react to similar situations in a limited number of ways, it's why the term “unusual behavior” exists. Because there is a such a thing as normal behavior. So when a person behaves “unusually” it raises a red flag. And before you start in lady, NO I do not want to hear your sob story.

  • Boringusername

Well I am just snips and snails after all.

  • Boringusername

Frequent dating websites huh? That explains a lot. Try going outside, it helps.

  • Redsaid

Being a cop AND a rapist? Have fun bug bubba, he's all yours. Feel free to pimp him out for a hot chocolate or a cup'o'noodles.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

The forensic evidence is proof of assault.

Since you don't want to hear my “sob story,” what is your story? Were you wrongfully accused of sexually assaulting someone?

  • Redsaid

I wonder what “usual behavior” after being assulted by a cop……..

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

    Did it help you?

  • Boringusername

Sadly there are a lot of incidents to set baseline behavior.

  • Boringusername

A cop, convicted? I like you your funny.

  • Eracsurfer

How many years of study in psychoanalysis do you have? (No your time spent as a patient doesn't count)

  • Eracsurfer

I do believe that BU was probably RIGHTFULLY charged and/or convicted, but thinks he/she/it did nothing wrong.

  • Boringusername

What's wrong? Did you get halfway through my original post and have a flashback? Because you can't have read the whole thing.

  • Eracsurfer

You don't even rate those. You aren't anything but a cold turd that wears a tinfoil hat.

  • Boringusername

You should try to remain calm surfer, when you get worked up the sad, scared, emotionally damaged child inside you shines though, and we all laugh at it.

  • redsaid

Sadly there are a lot of incidents to set baseline behavior.

Of someone who has been sexually assaulted by a cop? By a Special Victims Officer?? Was the cop convicted???

    Experience it much….?

  • Eracsurfer

All of you? Really? Everyone of your dysfunctional personalities laugh at me?

    I'm absolutely devastated.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

Yeah, I read it–I just figured you were going to accuse her of planting evidence.

  • aka jas

Alright rapest, molester, pedophile go on your merry way. We are all sick of hearing your pointless little posts.

  • tutkill

Marren's DNA matches saliva found on the victim's breast, Bucks County District Attorney David Heckler said.

Yet Marren denied to investigators that he had any sexual contact with the woman.

“Saliva can be just as probative as semen, depending on the facts of the case,” Heckler said. “Here's a situation where he claims nothing happened.”

    http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALe

yeah he is sooo fucking innocent

  • greenmountainboy

Wow, he looks like a young Rush Limbaugh. If Rush raped you, they would find a noticeable amount of Oxycontin in the saliva…

  • KatONine

Let's consider his side of the story for a moment and the reasoning he gave for her 'theatrical' reaction. He said that the reason why she was found crying in a closet is because he rejected her sexual advances on him. . . right, okay. I mean, rejection is tough, I've been there and my old friends Captain Morgan and Ben & Jerry helped me out. While I may have shed a few tears into my rum-spiked ice cream, I can't say that I went into hysterics and I have more issues than Vogue.

Nah, if anything? Curling up and crying in a closet is more likely to be a response towards sexual abuse than being rejected by a flabby-face, balding meatsack.

  • defenestratethis

Uh…no, actually its you we laugh at.

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

“Coming up on a very special episode of 'Law & Order: SVU'…”

  • Laurenthian

Rude, shallow, and a careless speller. Huh.

By the way, “unusual behavior” might refer to behavior that is unusual for the individual. E.g., a bubbly, happy kid becomes withdrawn; or someone who works as a volunteer EMT and used to handling stressful situations is found curled up and sobbing. This would strike me as unusual.

  • Boringusername

That's because you are an a**hat, reread my post and think. You don't have to be an a**hat you choose to be one.

  • Boringusername

No, that's your alcoholic dad, maybe that's why you wet the bed for all those years.

  • Boringusername

“handling stressful situations” So if I have a heart attack in a closet she has me covered? Oh and it's hard to spell when I am banging your mom.

  • Boringusername

And a story like that from a guy who was a sergeant in SVU who had to know that there was physical evidence, doesn't strike you as the least bet odd? And a volunteer EMT curled up in a closet, and it seems open and shut to you? Or do you think there is a missing element? Or do you think the answer is he is bald? Try to cut down on the rum.

  • Eracsurfer

    Project much?

  • Eracsurfer

Wow, a very witty retort. Is this your 10 year old personality today? Why were you banging someone else's mom? Did your mom have to go to the vet for her tick bath?

  • EveryVillainIsLemons

    Hi, Pot, I'm Kettle!

  • Eracsurfer

You are a true moron. The prick tried to intimidate her.

He has most likely done this kind of a thing before, and since he was a cop the victim or victims were afraid to come forward. With that type of mindset, he wouldn't consider that the physical evidence would come to light.

To have a rap like “I hope you are ok because I have a really good lawyer”, means he gave thought to the consequences of his actions.

Now that the evidence was brought out, what is he going to say?

    “My bad, you caught me.”???

  • aka jas

ohhho you are funny and such a Waiste of space. Good luck ja-pedo.

  • Boringusername

You are a pathetic foolish cow. So he “gave thought to the consequences of his actions” but “he wouldn't consider that the physical evidence would come to light” and he was a sergeant in SVU.

  • KatONine

I never said it was an open-shut case, please do not put words into my post because I do not appreciate it. As for questions, I have many of them in regards to this case such as the previous behavior of both of the people involved, does the woman have a history of hysterics, how did they act at the bar, did they have anything to drink and if so, how much, where exactly was the saliva sample taken and further details from the physical exam, etc, etc.

My post above was meant to convey my disbelief that any grown woman who has been trained as an EMT would react like that to being rejected by any man, especially one that looks like him because I’m a shallow creature and I’m honest about it. I know many EMT’s, male and female, and all of them have had to learn how to deal with things that normal people never do. They usually have a stronger psyche than the average person does because they have to, same with all other people who work in rescue services. It would take something bigger than a rejection to cause such a reaction.

  • Eracsurfer

    Cow? Honestly? LMAO!

Key word…WAS a sergeant in SVU… Who got FIRED for ethics violations BEFORE these charges were filed. Yeah, he thinks things through! Guess what Einstein, I know someone that works in the office of a heart surgeon, I wouldn't let him operate on me!

Woo Hoo… he was a sergeant so the fuck what!? Does it mean that like other criminals, he wouldn't get a complex thinking that he is above the law!?

    Oh, and Moo!

  • Boringusername

Don't try to church it up now, you tried to make a funny with a small-minded point. You got called out on it. Man-up and admit it rummy.

  • Boringusername

“I know someone that works in the office of a heart surgeon, I wouldn't let him operate on me!” if the person is not a heart surgeon you are right not to, and crazy to even make the statement. Also the original article did not mention the ethics violations. Where did you get that, and I think it would qualify as “There is a missing piece here that we aren't seeing”. And don't forget pathetic and foolish!

  • jackmcfist

Just because you lack the brainpower to see logic, doesn't mean everything else is small-minded.

  • Eracsurfer

“Also the original article did not mention the ethics violations. Where did you get that”

Umm, do you just throw out all of your conspiracy theories after seeing a headline on DD?

Try actually LEARNING about somethign before you comment. Maybe you won't wind up looking like an “a**hat”… I'm sorry I mean asshat. No, actually you look like a clueless DUMBASS fucking DOUCHE!

It was in pretty much EVERY news article about him. I happen to live in the Philadelphia area. The fact that he was fired is no hidden secret.

Pardon me, I must continue grazing. BTW, I would be a pathetic foolish BULL not a cow.

And as far as my heart surgeon analogy goes, it does apply because you are thinking that an unethical SVU officer would be intrinsically familiar with every aspect of DNA specimens. He very well could have been as clueless as you, and not thought about them looking for saliva.

  • Boringusername

Yeah whatever, cry about it somewhere else.

  • Boringusername

Save your life story for someone who cares, I commented on the story as presented on the site. BTW unethical does not mean incompetent. But on a more important note, do you have your own site like this? Or are you just a sad, sad pathetic cow who spends it's days patrolling news sites for sex crimes? Do you feel compelled to do it, does it give you some sort of deviant thrill. Or are you checking to see if you've been found out?

  • Eracsurfer

Uh-oh everyone… I think BU is gonna take his ball and go home.

You should all be ashamed of yourselves.

You are all supposed to be laughing at ME!

But, back on topic. For any of you that may not be aware, FORMER Sergeant Michael Marren was fired last month for ethics violations.

No mention has been formally made if this is directly related to this case, but if was due to these allegations, they must have enough evidence to fire him rather than suspend him during the investigation.

This has been all over every new source in the Philadelphia area, you all know… things like newspapers, radio, tv.

  • KatONine

Churching it up doesn't really apply to my post since that means to cover something up (as far as I know) and I never took back what I said about his being ugly (which I think he is) and even added that I am shallow. You brought the occupations up in your counter argument which I used in mine. Simple as that.

  • misfirefly

He did this in this way, so pigs( not naming any names), would think “why would he do something so stupid”? His next line of defense will be the he said, she said. This is sick and this man has probably abused his position for years.

  • defenestratethis

'Ethics Violations..'….Interesting,. Ive seen that term used as a euphemism for sexual harassment, inappropiate relationships with subordinates, fraternization with the wrong crowd…you get the picture. Maybe they had to 'church it up' a bit. Just sayin..:P

  • http://www.criminalpages.com/sexoffendercheck/ Sex Offender Search

Well, he gets stuck in the records… better behave better :)

  • Dont Bullyme

That is the worst pat about it – how many more people did he abuse before this? Not only this repulsive stuff – which I'm sure he's done before – but the typical, cop-bully-BS- look at my shiny badge and let me get away with everything… free parking, free coffee, let me cut in that line and go in the side door – move out of my way – I'll go that way and you can wait for traffic – sprinkle in some road rage with speed limit applies to you but not me, etc… because I am a COP! Bow Down Before The Man!! Bitches…

  • Sugarglider1

WHAT A USELESS ASSHOLE. “I hope you are okay because I have a good lawyer”?! Fuckface. And he was a Special Victims Unit cop? Damn. That is some scary shit. I am glad this is being taken seriously and his fellow coppers aren't rallying around him or trying to claim she brought it on herself. That is heartening.

  • NameKaos

Erac, You go, I also live in the Philadelphia area, This asshat needed to get his ass handed to him, for some time now. Trust a Philadelphian I always say, I may be your biggest fan

  • redsaid

I wonder if BU is showing signs of “unusual behavior” due to this “stressful situation”

  • redsaid

“This story is very unexpected, not only does the cop get convicted, but quickly and gets time for his abuses. I have never heard of such a thing happening before. If I hadn't seen the footage on a news site I would swear it was something from The Onion.”

    Your words, not mine.

  • misfirefly

Yeah, I thonk a little bit of authority in the wrong set of hands creates monsters.
