A Dozen Students Can’t Find Weed, OD On Cold Medicine

HIALEAH – I think we had a story about this before…ah yes, here it is. Anyway, in this case about a dozen students from Hialeah Middle School got sick as hell after taking cold medicine to get high. Before they are able to score weed or alcohol, kids today ingest Coricidin HBP or what they call  ”Candy,” “Skittles” and “Red Devils” to enjoy the soothing effects of DXM (dextromethorphan). These effects include…well here, let’s let students who was there explain: “I saw them throwing up and some were foaming at the mouth,” said Gina Cordero. “One student was foaming at the mouth. It was very terrifying. I saw Adrianna acting crazy and Jennifer was red-faced. They were acting hyper. They were laughing out loud. Oh my God, they overdosed. I was really upset watching this. I was crying.” Another student told reporters that some were passing out and throwing up. Great, a drug that has you acting like a Phillies fan. 

If you read the article I linked to, you know that some of the students were aware that these kids planned on doing this. It was to honor what they called “Bob Marley Day” or what most of us commonly referred to as “420″ or “Pot Day”. It was a day to celebrate cannabis and an excuse for us stoners to do what we did every day of the week…but in a more celebratory fashion. It was not about popping Coricidin HBP to the point that we needed to go to the hospital. In fact, these kids doing this in celebration of 420 is really an insult to pot smokers somehow. I’m sure of it.

But the trouble is not over for these kids. Schools Police spokesman, Sgt. Ivan Silva, said they are looking for the person who brought the pills to school to see if prosecutors want to file criminal charges. Also, all students involved now face suspensions.

Any morons out there actually do this? Ingesting cold pills or chugging ‘tussin? Were you not as lucky as me and my friends to have older brothers who would take our lunch money for skank weed? Just curious.

      My step-daughter did this. And she smoked pot. She was self medicating. I hate the taste of cough syrup, can't imagine drinking it to get high. And I take enough pills already, don't need more to get high.

      commenting to confirm that YES, this IS a slap in the face for stoners everywhere over the age of 20. 4:20 day should be just what it is: POT day, not OD on cough medicine!! lol tards.

      I used to get high on robitussin. I loved it. Best hallucinogen I've ever taken. They probably bought the bottles with other stuff in it. You have to do just the cough med. Anything else in it makes you sick as hell. But yeah, I'd puke sometimes as it hit me. But it was fun as fucking hell.

      lol. ive done this before. plenty of times. triple c is what we called it. except i did my research and never found myself or anyone that i knew foaming at the mouth, let alone od. kids these days… fun times.

      Two years ago, I got a call from my daughters school stating that they had called 911 because my daughter was foaming at the mouth and incoherent. When I got to the hospital, I couldn't believe the condition of my 15 yr. old daughter. She couldn't hold her head up, was foaming at the mouth, and gagging on her own tongue. Blood test and tox screens revealed nothing. However the security cameras at her school showed her taking Coricidan cough tablets.Shortly after I found out that she had been doing this and smoking weed for 3 months.2 yrs later, she can't keep things out of her mouth. Meth and heroin are her choice of drugs now…

      WTF is wrong with kids these days!? I take pills cause I hate liquid medicines & if I catch my daughter poppin' pills to get high or driking meds to get high, I WILL GET HER HIGH WITH A SUPER SPANKING THAT WILL HAVE TO MAKE HER CALL family services…
