MIDDLETOWN, Conn. – Police raided the home of Thomas Way, 22, and Kristian Augeri, 23, searching for drugs. Reports say aside from drugs and guns, they also found a digital camera with some interesting video on it. Police say the video shows their 3-year-old son holding a glass bowl and trying to light it with a lighter. While he does this, Thomas sits beside him while Kristian films. Both of them laughing. The boy never gets the bowl lit, but police say he can be seen inhaling and coughing. The couple now sits in jail facing charges that include risk of injury to a child, the boy is staying with relatives. Augeri’s father, a long-time member of the Middleton police department, must be so proud. But what takes this story to even higher levels of retardation, are the comments made by Way’s sister, Stephanie.

Listen as Way explains that the child was just copying an activity he has seen before, like failing as a parent, weighing baggies or loading a gun:
“He just accidentally mimicked something he seen, just like any other child would”
Listen as Way explains that it was the child’s fault that he picked up a readily accessible pot pipe while his parents encouraged him and filmed it:
“He’s not a child using marijuana, he’s just a child who picked up something he should not have picked up”
Listen as Way explains that sure the video shows the child with drug paraphenalia in his mouth, but there wasn’t anything in it so gosh!
“It’s gonna show him having it in his mouth, yes, but it’s not gonna have any drugs in there”
Listen to Way explain that the cough did not come from the inhale, but rather because the boy is…teething…
“He was coughing because he was teething”
Lastly, Way explains that the father can be seen wiping off the pot pipe before handing it to his son because he is a very concerned father who had the boy’s safety in mind:
“He was drooling and stuff so that’s why my brother said it was wiped off, so nothing would get into his mouth.”
As a bonus, a family friend who may be wondering where she is gonna score her next bag states that everyone is making a big deal about nothin’:
“I don’t think that there should be…such a big issue about it because there was no narcotics in it. They were just playing with something.”
Someone should probably just let Michael Wilson and Crystal Baily have this kid – I think his future would be a lot brighter.
