3-Year-Old Boy Mauled To Death By Family’s Labrador

APPLE VALLEY – Just messin’ with you. It was the family’s pit bull. But wouldn’t that have been a shocker, right? A 911 call was made on SaturdaySaturday reviews about a young boy who had been attacked by a dog and had stopped breathing. When paramedics arrived on the scene, they found 3-year-old Omar Martinez unresponsive. He would die two hours later at the hospital. The pit bull that attacked the boy was shot to death by a deputy after it became aggressive towards him and firefighters. An autopsy will be conducted on Martinez while sheriff’s deputies and animal control officials continue to investigate. It has not been reported if any adults were around at the time of the attack and no charges have been filed at this time.

I read the title and I was like no way your such a liar Morbid! LOL! Labs are the most loving and loyal dogs you could own. I have owned 2 in my lifetime. I just wish my 6 month old would stop peeing on the floor when she gets scared. Stupid puppy lol

people need to stop thinking about the breed as the reason for attacks like these.a pitbulls natural instinct isnt to attack at random.there is always something that triggers it.its the same with any dog breed.the only reason pit bulls get thrown under the bus so much is because there thought of as vicious beasts from hell.and thats all because of the media."people fight pitbulls....so there dangerous" people also fight chickens...same thing.any dog has the potential of doing something like this.pit bulls are just what every one hears about when the subject is brought up.you dont hear about the lab,chow or poodle attacks.but they happen.what they need to think about is what caused this...not worry about a dog breed.i know many people that own pit bulls..all of them are sweet hearts.ive never once ever been attacked or had a pit be aggresive to me.but ive had a german shepard ,husky mix rip my hand open because it had been abused and when i tryed leashing him he got scared.and i dont blame the dog..i blame the dogs previous owners.the dog was scared and did what any dog would have done in that same situation.stop punishing the breed.punish the people that cause this beautiful aminal to be aggresive.

Why was a three year old allowed that close without supervision? Pitbulls are incredibly strong
animals. Even normally docile animal with exceptional strength can be dangerous.
Animals are great for family but they must be supervised.
My prayers go out to the family for the loss of the baby.
I hope others will pay attention and be more attentive to thier children while they interact
with pets.

Well you can't take away a dogs natural instincts with love, and dogs are known for attacking so it's unlikely it's a repayment.

Pit bulls have a natural instinct to impress their master. All they crave is love, the affection of their human. It's why they make such great fighting animals. Even pits bred to fight to the death against their fellows are usually incredibly loving toward human kind if they don't put their hands in the dog's food. Therefore, this dog must have been rabid or -very- poorly treated.

WOW I OWN 2 PITBULLS THIS IS CRAZY THEY MUST OF KEPT THE DOG AWAY FROM FAMILY MEMBERS OR OUTSIDE TERRIBLE NEWS BUT I LOVE MY DOGS I CANT IMAGINE MY DOGS DOING THAT TO MY SON....
