Michael Bargeron Was A Drink Or Two Past Drunk

Palm Bay, FL - A 2-year-old child is recovering from severe burns to his hands, legs, stomach, and buttocks because he was surrounded by idiots. The child’s father, Michael Bargeron, was getting his drunk on at a New Year’s Eve party and began wrestling with the child near an open fire pit. The highly intoxicated MichaelMichael reviewsMichael reviews had been warned, repeatedly, by other party-goers to back away from the fire because the child was in danger of getting burned. Dismissing their concerns, Michael continued with the horseplay. Well, kiddo fell into the fire. WitnessesWitnesses reviewsWitnesses reviews stated that Michael failed to immediately pull the child from the fire. (Doesn’t sound like the witnesses were much help in the situation, either). The child’s mother pulled him from the flames and high-tailed it to the hospital. About 20 minutes later, Michael was on the phone with 911 – he wanted to know if the dispatcher had heard any reports of a nearly 3-year-old child being burned.

Michael told the dispatcher his son had fallen into a fire and the boy’s mother took him to the hospital, but he didn’t know where his son was or where the incident occurred. When the dispatcher told him to “sober up” and figure out what was going on with his child, Michael responded with, “Are you serious? I can’t sober up.” He was still sleeping it off when the cops showed up to arrest him later that day. Michael Bargeron, 24, is being held on $50,000 bond and charged with aggravated child abuse. Turns out the party was being held at the home of two registered sexual predators. They are now being investigated for possible violation of their probation because of contact with young children. I’m sure this was a tragic accident, and I’m sure that once he sobered up he felt like a Grade A piece of shit, but it saddens me that such a lesson had to be learned at the kiddo’s expense.

Yeah, and parents like my cuntface dad molest their daughters.

Everyone here who's a parent had better hope they don't do anything to their kids...'cos the first person I see molesting mine is going to get his or her neck carved in half.

So wait. Was it the registered sex offenders who were warning him to get away from the fire?

Would explain why they didn't feel they could/should remove the child from its father's vicinity. It might get them into more trouble than they were already in...... :-P

I agree Granny-G "Alcohol overindulgence and parenting do not mix"

I believe drinking of booze should NOT be done around children at all. It sends out the wrong signal to them AND this horrible thing can happen. Poor baby :(
He felt really bad, so that's a good "sign" but my god. Where were the sober people watching this child?
  • Who wants to stay home and watch someone else's kid on New Year's Eve? NOBODY!! That's why me and my husband put the kids to bed at 10 and got out Yahtzee....Damn him...he got 5 yahtzee's that night....I didn't get any. So later that night we were making out and I asked him if he wanted me to do that special thing for him and when he said yes, I screamed YAHTZEE in his face and went to bed and locked the door.

Seeing as how they were going to a booze filled New Years Eve celebration, why not leave the poor kid at home with a sitter in the first place?
  • VelvetGlove
EXACTLY what I was thinking--wasn't there someone else to watch this child? A baby sitter, or even a loving relative nearby? I have 2 kids and would never in a million years taken them to a drunken adult party, much less one being held at the residence of convicted sex offenders.Sounds like a big parenting FAIL all the way around to me.
  • Would help if I read the article entirely. It's cold here.

Mom, should have put everything on hold and gotten this
little one away from the fire and Dad. If she had told him more than
once to move away and others had done the same then they are all
equally at blame. Seems everyone there realized this child was in danger
but did nothing until it was too late.
Alcohol overindulgence and parenting do not mix.

If the mother was there WHY didn's she take the child away from him from the start! UGH!
  • Instead of the witnesses sitting around warning him the kid was too close to the fire, why the hell didn't one of 'em remove the child from the vicinity of the fire? Especially since they knew that Michael was pretty much shitfaced....
