German Shepherd Dragged Uphill To Its Death

Grand Junction, CO- Investigators are hoping to find the persons responsible behind a horrendous act of animal cruelty that occurred at the Colorado National Monument early Wednesday morning. An adult male German Shepherd was tied to a car and then dragged three miles to its death.“This was an incredible act of cruelty done to a defenseless animal,” said Joan Anzelmo, superintendent of the monument. “It is a sickening, sickening type of crime. We are leaving no stone unturned.” Tracks left in the snow clearly show that the dog was first walked, then ran and then dragged when it could no longer keep up with the vehicle. The dog’s body was finally dumped after it died from the dragging. Anzelmo said the German Shepherd was forced to run on about two inches of snow up one of the steepest hills at the monument. The dog was forced to run around multiple switchbacks and sharp curves and gained more than 1,000 feet in elevation before he finally collapsed and died.

It is believed the dog was in good condition prior to the incident. He had a thick coat of fur, was neutered, and showed no signs of previous abuse. The dog was found by maintenance about 4:30 a.m. with a silver and blue synthetic rope around its neck. Investigators believe the incident occurred between 2 a.m. and 4 a.m. and are pursuing all manner of evidence, including the tire tracks of the vehicle. A veterinary pathologist from Colorado State University will perform a necropsy on the dog. Rewards will be offered to apprehend the persons responsible and a crime tip line has been established at 970-712-2798. Callers may remain anonymous.

    It’s hard to imagine what being dragged to death would feel like, but you know it would be extremely painful and would take a long, long time. FUCK YOU, ROMERO, you meaningless blip of excrement!

    “I don’t get it,” he said, sitting alone at the defendant’s table.

    Heldmyer told U.S. Magistrate Judge Laird Milburn she will ask for Romero’s continued detention during Monday’s hearing.

    Romero expressed concern about sitting in jail over the weekend.

    “So, in other words I’ll be sitting in jail and probably lose my job, too?” Romero asked Milburn.

    “Yes,” the judge responded.

    Romero, I hope you are reading this, or read this page at some future point. I hate your stinking, worthless guts and I hope you lose your LIFE. Your children would be better off without you, and so would the world. I hope you get raped to death in prison with a broken broomstick.
