Honor Student Severely Beaten By 11 Other Students

ENGLEWOOD, New Jersey – After accidentally hitting a girl with a basketball, 8th-grade honor student David Muneton was savagely attacked by up to 11 other students. He was beaten so severely that he will need reconstructive surgery on his face and the 13-year-old may even lose his sight. Police have arrested seven students from both Dismus Middle School and high school, charging them with aggravated assault. The youngest one is just 12 years old. The group jumped Muneton on a soccer field as he walked home from school. The reason for the attack was to get back at him for accidentally hitting a girl with a basketball earlier in the day. The girl, who has also been charged, led the boys to Muneton, saying “He’s the one.” He was then immediately punched by one of the boys.

Update: 7 arrested, including the girl who instigated the incident. More arrests expected.

Apparently, it did for cut n' paste. So, yeah.
  • casey17
Yeah, that didn't work. Cut n' paste, everyone!

    Did that work?

For those of you wondering the racial makeup of the school (since it has been mentioned), you can check it out here:

    You're welcome.
  • These young boys with their heightened senses must have smelled her monthly cycle (I SHIT YOU NOT!), altering the libidoes into a frothy collision of synapses. With the young girls promises of the gold between her legs these young men were led to slaughter the poor young man. When these girls start realizing the power between their legs they wield, more innocent young men will not die.

Because my inner child is a punk, I always felt like beating up a kid who was a geek and got good grades when I was behind, but eventually i picked it up and cared enough to do well. That stemmed from jealousy maybe.
I just wonder if the Honor student in the title has anything to do with it.
  • I feel being racist would be to actually note the colors in this story, as the color of the victim's skin is not what prompted the beating. It would simply be baiting. Until any other information reveals otherwise, this kid got beat over a girl.

You can see the video here:

As would "eleven black kids beat up one white honor student."
  • Dirk
How not to appear racist noting a possibly racist (and erased) headline? "Eleven white kids beat up one black honor student" would have been a very different story.
  • Anna B.
    And your video was snatched.
  • Anna B.
It says "severly" everywhere except in the article, where it's spelled correctly...
  • Yeah, I didn't bring up the racial thing because I'm not sure it really had anything to do with it.
  • Dirk
That vid link goes to an interesting headline that brings in the racial angle.
  • stories like these make me fearful for my kids when they reach jr. high and high school.
something so accidental and so random caused this girl to instigate a fight. not even a fair fight. he was jumped and beaten like he'd raped the girl.
I will never understand the mentality of kids these days.
Its going to take surgeries and a lot of time before this kid heals physically, but even after the wounds have healed he'll probably be a mess inside. My heart goes out to him. I hope he has a speedy recovery and gets some counseling to be able to, if not understand why this happened to him, help him heal inside.

Eeeeek the "power" was overly used here!
  • Twisted
This is one of those moments that reminds me that, as much as some people like to say otherwise, we really are horribly vicious pack animals, and grouping together only increases the propensity for violence.

I recommend solitary confinement indefinitely for each of the eleven people involved... I might consider releasing them when their hormones are more in control, like when they're 60.
  • Ugh. I can see it playing out now. Young teen girls get so drunk with power in situations where peers are willing to exact revenge for them. Seeing them jump him was probably the most exhilarating moment of her life to date. I'm glad she's getting charged because, in my experience, girls who stumble upon this power become mongers, going out of their way to create similar circumstances over and over and over again, callously leaving a wake of scarred victims behind her in her pursuit for constant vindication.

No, I was never one of those victims, or the fucked up girl... I just like to state things really melodramatically sometimes.
