The morning after the sleep-over at his house, she said, her daughter’s pull-up diaper was missing. The little girl claimed Gardner raped her in a bathroom, she said.

Her account of the rest of the day was less clear. She repeatedly said she was unsure of details.

“I don’t remember; I was stressed out and in shock,” she said at one point, explaining why she did not initially tell police she saw Gardner that afternoon.

Asked if she deleted text messages exchanged with Gardner, she replied: “I think so.”

After returning home that morning, the woman said she spent part of the afternoon with her parents, who urged that she take her daughter to Jordan Hospital, which she did at about 6 p.m.

The woman said she called Gardner “to confront him,” testifying he pleaded with her not to go to police and alternately offered to pay for her silence and threatened to murder her loved ones.

Atwood asked if she agreed to take the money.

“I think I may have agreed because I was scared,” she said. “He threatened to kill my family if I said anything.”

At first, the woman said, she later saw Gardner “for two seconds” but couldn’t recall where. Eventually, she said, “He had me follow him to some house, but I turned around and left.”

Okay, her story sucks. Was the kid examined? I am NEVER one to defend a raper, ESPECIALLY a baby-raper, but I call BS with this mom's story. If that scenario had happened with my daughter, I would go bat-crap-crazy on boyfriend from "raped in bathroom." Rage would have been the prevailing emotion, not stress. I also would have kept any texts from and to the guy, and I would have called the police and taken her to the hospital the second I was done beating him with a blunt object. Would not have waited until evening. And there would be no way I would agree to take the bastards money. That is called "pimping out your kid," you douche.

What gets my attention in a case like this is the lowered bail. Pedos often seek out positions of control and authority, so when a judge lowers bail like this, I can't help but wonder what secret sympathy motivates their decision.

How many cases have you read where a baby raper's bail was dramatically reduced, or they were released on OR, only to offend again or go on the run?

Is it possible (legal) to establish a minimum bail for a given crime?

Why the FUCK would that woman stay with him? I mean, he's not even a husband. He's a BOYFRIEND. I don't think it's an overreaction to break up with a person if they're suspected for child rape. Sure, if they're found innocent, you might feel like an ass for awhile, but if this is the alternative, that's a small risk to take.

Usually women choose a male partner either by what their father taught them or by what their father acted like.

Now her daddy might've not raped her but if he wasn't there or was a scumbag & treated her mom like a piece of dog crap what she might've learned was that, THAT is the way that men treat women in general & that there's nothing wrong with it.

However if this dude actually searched for a woman with a small child to be a paedo with, you know he treated her like a queen so he could "do" the kid & have the mother not believe the kid because he treats her so well (unlike her daddy ever did).
