Man, triplets are EXPENSIVE! That's like buying a new car then keying it or burning a hole in the seat!

Kudos to the hospital staff for being strong and standing up for these poor defenseless infants. Mama needs to rot in jail. What mother could say, "oh, my poor, weak adult husband sometimes gets frustrated when the babies are crying and tortures them. Its ok, though, because they are still crying which means they're still alive." Has anyone checked on the household pets? This guy sounds like he would air a fish out to dry just to watch it flop about.

I agree, defenestratethis - the mom knew about it. How could she not? Mothers know everything about their babies and bruises just do not happen easily to newborns. Plus, with the constant pain, i.e. broken ribs, hurt ear, she'd at LEAST wonder why they were so "fussy".

Ok, now I am wondering about the mother. It took the ER staff to notice the bruises on the infant when he was brought in for an unrelated concern? Why didnt she notice them? And how can ya not notice a bite mark, and injuries to the other babies ear. A new mom spends a lot of time feeding, bathing, clothing, holding, and handling a young baby..I just dont get how ya cant notice sumthins up..skull fractures and broken ribs??! She must 'have a screw loose'..or as my friend likes to say, "I think the cheese fell off her cracker!!"

This lady needs to have her head examined. I am sure she believes he has good reason to "act out" towards the babies. SIB!

Indictments made public yesterday suggest the abuse began when the children were born and lasted until Campo was arrested in September.

Police first learned of the abuse on Sept. 12 when Campo’s wife, Zoya, went to Lawrence (Mass.) General Hospital to have one of her sons examined for an unrelated medical concern, a police affidavit says.

“At the hospital emergency room, staff noticed multiple bruises on the body of (the baby),” wrote Plaistow police Sgt. Pat Caggiano.

On Sept. 15, police learned the other children were being abused as well. One had suffered injuries to an ear and had a bite mark, court documents indicate. The other son suffered a bilateral skull fracture and rib fractures.

“Zoya Campo told me that her husband has a history of anger and acts out towards the babies,” Caggiano wrote.

Holy shit, that is a lot of injuries for a baby. Also, babies are tiny and fragile, but their bones are pretty flexible- you have to really be TRYING to do some damage if you're causing that level of injury in a newborn. I just threw up a little bit. Seriously, what were these tiny babies doing to deserve assault??? How can anybody look at what this man has done and think he doesn't deserve to be locked up forever??

Damn, damn and double damn! This POS is the very reason I say no second chances and that they should immediately be hung in the public square! He should have never been a father and should never be allowed a second chance around any child. No lengthy appeals, just hang his ass, stone him to death, anything but keeping his sorry ass up in the penal system.

POS like this one cannot be rehabilitated, they will only abuse again if given the chance. And the way our judicial system works, I bet a dollar to a donut he will be given the opportunity again and again. Kill this POS slow and give the children justice!

As for the mom, I would also bet that she worked her ass off, while he layed at home letting her support the family. I would bet their home situation put him as the primary care giver. All speculation until we get more facts.

BTW, I don't know the details here, but it can take many months to get from arrest to indictment by a fed. grand jury.

I've had three babies and they never went weekly or monthly for check ups, but they were only single births. they went when they needed their shots or if they were really ill and thats about it.

No reason to think the mom was aware of anything, or that she should have been. And if the babies were thriving (e.g., normal weight) they wouldn't have needed to go to the pediatrician. If the mom isn't being charged, then the police don't think she needs to be charged. As for the dad, he is a piece o' shit.

I think the question about the mother stems from the fact that police say he has been beating on these kids since they were born (in April). So while it is great she took the kiddo to the doctor, some may be wondering why it took this long before anyone noticed any injuries. Especially now the the extent of those injuries are known.

Where was mom all this time? Were these babies ever taken to the pediatrician? Babies go weekly, then monthly for the first year of life as I recall. I had twins and they were constantly at the pediatricians to check weights, get shots, etc. How about neighbors? friends? family? nobody noticed these three babies were being abused for all this time?? Lock him up, throw away the key and if Mom was aware of all this - toss her in a cell as well and put those babies in a loving and warm environment.
