Damien Poling Needed Some Stress Relief

Minneapolis, MN – …so he started squeezin’ and pokin’ and breaking his adopted 1-year-old son. The child’s adoptive mother noticed the child was bruised and sought medical treatment last week, and at that time, it was determined that the child was suffering from two fractured ribs, a fractured bone in his leg that was in the process of healing, fracture lines in his wrists and in both ankles, suggesting that he had been slammed down on his feet. Poling, a 38-year-old high school teacher, blames the child’s injuries on depression, the flu, stress, and lack of bonding. He stated that he poked the child boy in the chest with two fingers and squeezed him firmly because the boy had not “bonded” with him and because he wouldn’t stop crying. Well no shit, asshole! Kids cry when ya start poking at ‘em and breaking their little bones. Poling, has been charged with two felony counts of third-degree assault. He’s already out on $40,000 bail.

Wow, I shit my pants when I heard this. I went to the high school he teaches, and I had a class with him. He seemed pretty nice, and we even played a game of checkers after school one time. When I was a student (2002), he was a great teacher and very encouraging, very fun to have as a teacher. Guess you never really know people or how they are in their personal lives.

Yeah so its all real fucked up but I was a student at roosevelt and Poling was my dean he was real cool you never really know just how life may effect a person and know one can say that they have never made bad mistakes not to say what he did was ok because it was compleatly jacked up but I can understand that some people dont handle stress as well as others and people snap but that doesnt make him a moster Hell I most likely wouldnt have even graduated if it wasnt for him he motivated many but failed in some parts of his life but failure isnt to fall and be down but to fall asnd stay down We all have to do better KNOW THAT! he fucked up and did some real foul shit But the man that I knew...he was just another person that really wanted to make a difference but when you see your students lacking and you and your wife cant have children so you choose to adopt and you try to bond with this child as you did with your first parenting is hard know parent can honestly said that they have never been at a poin where they where extreamly arrgravated by there child....someone should have told him that even birth parents sometimes have trouble bondingwith their children..its a damn shame but come on back the hell off the man he isnt all bad

If he taught you to write a runon sentence like that then he was as utterly useless as a teacher as he was as a father.

I bet there were plenty of students who 'saw this coming'.
Yep, you can probally bank on that one. What an egotistical piece of crap.
  • also, what happens now to the little boy? are they going to keep him in the same house with the abuser?
  • With those injuries you would think the little boy would be in constant pain and it would limit his ability to move? I mean, I had a broken arm and I couldnt use that arm for at least 6 weeks...so wouldn't it have been noticable before mom took him to the doctor?

Good for Mom, Smart to take the child to get those bruises checked. God Bless both of them!!

Yeah--and this is a good reminder that child abuse isn't always utterly obvious. A baby cannot verbalize and tell you what is going on, and a broken bone or other trauma may just appear as a bruise. We are often quick to blame people on here for not realizing their child was being abused by their spouse, but it's not always so obvious when it's an infant. It's so great she took the baby in to find out what was going on.

Now for PussPoling, There's an old saying about dogs and children having extra senstive perception in regards to a persons character. I bet the family dog growled every time Poling was around............

Wellll, it seemed to work when he wanted to bond with his students.
(I'll bet there were plenty of his students who 'saw this coming')

I am having a hard time grasping the fact that there are so fucking many miserable ass people out there that get their jollies beating children. It is a screwing epidemic!
