Andrew Conley, 17, Charged In Death Of 10-Year-Old Brother

RISING SUN, Indiana – On Sunday night, the body of 10-year-old Conner Conley was found by police in some woods near Rising Sun City Park. Now his 17-year-old brother, Andrew Conley is in custody charged with causing serious bodily injury. Those charges are expected to change once the full autopsy reports become available. Conner Conley’s family says that Andrew picked up Conner from his aunt’s house over the weekend. Hours later Andrew went into the police station confessing to killing his brother and giving the location of his body. Police are stating that the boy was likely killed elsewhere and then dumped at the popular teen hangout. Both brothers were honor students, though reports are that Andrew dropped out of school a couple weeks ago. I’ll post more info as it becomes available.

Ok, this is creepy to me on a different/additional level…

first off, my last name is Conley. I live in IN.
my wife and I just had a son less than 2 weeks ago. Our first choice for a name was Conner. We decided on a different better name in the end, tho.
My 12yr old son’s name is Andrew.

    *twilight zone music* FREAKY!!

‘Why did you kill him?,’ Andrew stated, ‘Like, I had to. It’s like when people have something, like they are hungry, and there’s a hamburger sitting there and they knew they had to have it,”

    Chilling.

Anyone checked around the neighborhood for multilated pets lately? Any unexplained fires? Pissing the bed issues? Eeeeek. I'm sure they're itching to profile his ass and find out these very things.

Reeeally terrifying. Needs to be tried and convicted as an adult so he can be kept separate from the herd forever.

Wow. When you describe an urge to kill as a hunger that strong and deep you are dealing with a true sociopath. he should be locked up forever, if not excecuted. His girlfriend said she has never seen him so happy as he was the night he killed that lil guy? Tooooo sick. No rehab. No way. No chance. Shudder.

Apparently, LE is conveniced that is how Andrew feels - they aren't willing to take any chances.

Andrew Conley will be tried as an adult for the murder of his younger brother, Connor. Police found the boy’s body near a park in Rising Sun on Sunday. Detectives say they knew where to look, because Andrew Conley told them where the body was.

The prosecutor is calling it a cold-blooded murder and they plan on pursuing life without parole, the maximum possible penalty.

We watch and review Dexter all the time here. Nothing this kid did comes close to anything Dexter would do. He may be a sociopath, but he’s no Dexter.

    Agreed.

Whoa. WTF. Either this kid is just a total fucking psycho, or he has a brain tumor. Seriously.

Poor little Conner. What a horrible way to die. :(

    CLUE

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dexter_(TV_series)

    Season 1

Orphaned at the age of three and harboring a traumatic secret, Dexter was adopted by a Miami police officer named Harry Morgan, who recognized Dexter's sociopathic tendencies and taught him to channel his gruesome passion for thrill killing by giving it a constructive direction: killing people who deserve it. Most have slipped through the justice system, due to loopholes and technicalities in the law or were never apprehended.

To hide in plain sight and to erase his own crimes, Dexter works as a blood spatter analyst for the Miami Metro Police Department. Although his drive to kill is unflinching (otherwise overcome by a feeling of "emptiness") Dexter is, through extensive instruction from Harry, able to fake normal emotions and keep up his appearance as a socially-responsible human being. Flashbacks throughout the series show how Harry, who died several years before, instructed Dexter on the art of appearing normal, and he follows Harry's instructions as a sacred "Code of Harry". In accordance with this code, most of Dexter's victims must be killers themselves; people who have killed multiple times with no remorse. Dexter must also have proof that the criminals are definitely guilty before he takes action. In the episode "Return to Sender", Dexter is shown to have used the alias "Patrick Bateman" to procure powerful sedatives to use on victims. This is the same name used by Bret Easton Ellis for the serial killer in his 1991 novel American Psycho (as well as the 2000 film of the same name), who, like Dexter, is a seemingly normal person by day but a ruthless serial killer by night.

Rising Sun - Prosecutors have now charged a 17-year-old boy with the murder of his 10-year-old brother.

Andrew Conley will be tried as an adult for the murder of his younger brother, Connor. Police found the boy's body near a park in Rising Sun on Sunday. Detectives say they knew where to look, because Andrew Conley told them where the body was.

The prosecutor is calling it a cold-blooded murder and they plan on pursuing life without parole, the maximum possible penalty.

They say Andrew Conley walked into the police station that night and confessed that he and his little brother were wrestling, at one point he had Connor in a headlock and the boy's head started bleeding.

According to investigators, Andrew told them at that point he put on a pair of plastic gloves and strangled his little brother for 20 minutes. He then placed a plastic bag over his head and secured it with electrical tape. He then dragged the body through the house to his car and placed him in his trunk.

He then drove to his girlfriend's house and gave her a sweetheart ring while his deceased brother was in the trunk of his car. His girlfriend described him as "more happy than she had seen him in a while."

He then drove the body to the Rising Sun City Park and dumped the body in a wooded area and covered him with vegetation, within a few hundred yards of the Elementary School that Conner attended.

During the hours of Sunday, Andrew let his parents believe that Conner was staying at his Grandma's house in Rising Sun, which was not uncommon.

"During Andrew's interview, in answer to the question, 'Why did you kill him?,' Andrew stated, 'Like, I had to. It's like when people have something, like they are hungry, and there's a hamburger sitting there and they knew they had to have it," said Dearborn-Ohio County Prosecutor Aaron Negangard. "Andrew also stated Conner's last words were 'Andrew, stop!' I remind you that these are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty."

An autopsy indicated the cause of death was manual strangulation and that the death was homicide.

Police say Andrew Conley was recently taken from school for self-destructive behavior, he was cutting himself.

A memorial has been placed where Conner's body was found Sunday night.

  • This is such a tragic situation. I'm curious as to why an honor student with only a year left until graduation, would drop of of school and weeks later murder his little brother.
  • Coyote
This has to be a parent’s nightmare; one child dead and the other one accused of killing him. I’m interested to find out what the motive is.
