Christopher Hanney Accused Of Setting Estranged Wife On Fire

Tampa, FL – What the hell is it with all the fire here on the Dreamin’ Demon lately? It seems like Morbid just posted a story about a cowardly asshole setting fire to his significant other and here we are with yet another one. Demonites, meet Christopher Hanney. Authorities report that on NovemberNovember reviews 17, after the two argued, Hanney allegedly attacked his estranged wife, Audrey Mabrey – first clubbing her in the head with a hammer before dousing her with lighter fluid and lighting a match. WitnessesWitnesses reviews report seeing Audrey run from her home, engulfed in flames, to the safety of a neighbor’s house. Audrey, a 26-year-old mother of two very young children, is now hospitalized in critical condition with burns to over 80% of her body. When police arrived on scene, Hanney, 44, was found in the backyard, suffering from burn wounds as well. He was released from the hospital the following day and taken into custody. Hanney, a former New York police officer, is being held without bail on charges of attempted murder in the first-degree.

This isn’t the first instance of domestic violence in the couple’s marriage – a domestic violence report was filed on the 20th of OctoberOctober reviews and a warrant was issued. In that incident, Audrey reported that Hanney had gotten violent with her and had tried to rape her. The case was never prosecuted because Audrey gave conflicting reports about the incident. She told friends and family that she was scared of Hanney, but stated that she couldn’t afford to leave him. The two continued to live in the same home, but shared separate bedrooms.

Audrey’s parents are doing what they can to raise enough money to travel from Texas to Florida to be with their daughter and care for their grandchildren. I wonder how hard it is to prosecute domestic violence now if it's a cop/former cop. I know it used to be very difficult, and while I'm sure that's changed a lot, and while I believe the majority of cops are VERY honorable, it's still something that I think could happen very easily.

As far as burning... I can't think of a more painful way to die or be injured. I'll be shocked if she will live through this, and it's so painful while living, even with as much dope as they can give you--I think that they usually have to induce a coma in people or they would just die from the pain. I hope he is charged and given a severe sentence, because IMO all burn assaults should be considered torture.

I can't imagine a worse kind of pain. Maybe someone in prison can pour some gasoline on his testicles and light a match. Fucking asshole. Even if she survives, the recovery will take a long time. Poor kids and grandparents.

I truly despise "men" who not only resort to violence - but especially to violence of a tortuous and life altering degree. It takes a special kind of sick, twisted and malicious soulless creature to to such a heinous act to a person they once professed to love. I don't understand it - and I'm not sure I really want to.

Heal, Audrey - inside and out - so your children may once again hug, kiss and be loved by their mommy.

Too bad the only way this mother fucker can receive the DP is if she dies. I'd say what he's done warrants it - even if she survives.

With burns this severe, she probably feels little pain, and that would be mostly in the areas with the least injury.
Deep burns often damage the tissue nerves to the extent of numbness, and if a burn victim manages to survive, as the nerves heal (or try to heal), the victim is often left with little sensation in the injured areas, other than the constant sensation of deep and intense itching that can only be slightly relieved with topical pain patches.
Although, with 80% of her body burned, her chances for survival are next to nil. Not only is she highly susceptible to infection in her wounds, but also respiratory tract infections and dehydration/fluid loss.

IMO, intentionally setting another living being on fire is one of the most despicable and cruelest actions imaginable, and the punishment should be burning at the stake, where the perpetrator would hopefully suffer some of their victim's pain, before choking to death on the smoke from their own burning flesh and bone.

So I suppose you think she hit herself on the head with the hammer, too? And poor widdle Chrissy just happened to catch slightly on fire as well in the process?
