Jamarr Pinkney Sr. Accused Of Shooting His Teen Son – Execution Style

Highland Park, MI - Information is still trickling in on this one, but here’s what we have so far. It is being reported that at around 2:15 Monday afternoon, witnesses watched Jamarr Pinkney Sr. march his naked 15-year-old son, Jamarr Pinkney Jr., out of a home and to an empty field. Once at the field, Pinkney Sr. allegedly ordered his child to “get on the ground” – the boy could be heard saying, “No daddy, no.” Pinkney Sr. grabbed the boy’s head and fired one round. WitnessesWitnesses reviewsWitnesses reviews say Pinkney Sr. then calmly walked to his vehicle and drove off. The teen died from his injuries later that afternoon – authorities took Pinkney Sr. into custody a few hours after the execution. The boy’s aunt, Yolanda Cherry, states that father and son had been arguing in her home earlier that day. “He beat my nephew real bad in the head where he had knots like he had been in a boxing ring,” she said. When she tried to intervene, Pinkney Sr. pulled out a gun. “I ran down the street to get police down here and I heard a gunshot.” As always, we’ll keep you updated as more information is made available.

I'm holding off on speculating on the molestation rumors. So far the only accusations are coming from the comments, so it's a lot of hearsay.

Not to mention, after reading the comment section on that site, there's big problems with the user base there. People posing as other people, others making up stuff about other users...not a very trustworthy group to get data from a comments section

Oh dear God! Either way, how horrible!
  • sarabei
Wow, if that is true what a tragedy!!
  • Darsa
OMG... I don't even know what to think about this one. :( The only thing that comes to mind is how can someone shoot their kid who's saying "no daddy, no!"???
  • We get a lot of comments on this site about child molesters and what should be done to them when they are caught - now, seeing as how this is a 15-year-old boy, and if the rumors of molestation are true - do ya think he got what he deserved? Was his daddy justified in blowing his head off? Would daddy have been more justified had he blown the head off a complete stranger who may or may not have been caught in the act of molesting his toddler?

    Just curious...
  • Boughtthefarm
Good question Jaded and I will say yes, if daddy caught his 14 yo son raping his 3 yo daughter, he likely did society a favor. It is still a horrible image.

Regarding the issue of what to do with someone caught with their pants down with your young child, I think:

    1. It goes without saying that our current justice factory will have to punish the man severely for taking the power of dispensing justice from the state;
    2. If there is uncontestatble evidence that the person was molesting your child, I see no moral problem wit whooping there ass severly enough to permanently disfigure/cripple the perpetrator because in a way your child has been crippled by their actions. An eye for an eye may make everyone blind, but only those foolish enough to disrespect other's sight.
    3. Death seems a little harsh a penalty for someone caught molesting another. Perhaps it would be justified for a serially offender. However, I have thought that being marooned on pervert island would be a better punishment.

Great article for debate. Yes, death does seem harsh for someone caught molesting another, yet this is how it would have been handled 100 years ago. It was the way society weeded out the detrimental misfits. I don’t think it would be any more justified if it was a stranger; it’s still the same act being committed.

PeterPaul, I'm with you; we need a penal colony exclusively for pedophiles. I can't reason out any other way to deal with them. There is no treatment, death penalty appeals cost millions more than life in prison, and typically they receive very short sentences spent in protective custody with others of their ilk. On release, their either next door, or so restricted by housing regulations that they're living in tent encampments on public land, or under freeways and bridges. The mere existence of prisons establishes the fact that we as a society have the right to remove others from our society.

I doubt we have a big enough island handy, but we have plenty of uninhabited public land here in Nevada to establish a colony to remove pedophiles from our presence. I think it would be much easier to pass a law calling for removal to a colony, than passing a law calling for the death penalty.
  • I think it would be much easier to pass a law calling for removal to a colony, than passing a law calling for the death penalty.

Absolutely. The SCOTUS has ruled repeatedly that the death penalty for any crime short of murder is unconstitutional. But a colony could potentially preserve their rights while keeping them segregated.

Problem is, much like the situation with the terror suspects in Gitmo, no one would want this colony in their city/county/state.

Until then, we'll continue to deal with the painfully short sentences and ineffective programs like registries and residence restrictions. Because, after all, legislators don't care about your kids... they only care about your vote.
  • Rawrehz.
    wow.
what a toss up debate ... sad && tragic though nonetheless.
  • scorpiogirl
The father did what had to be done. He has more balls than the judicial system. I don't know if I could do what he did, but I would regret not doing it if I couldn't, especially when the kid got released at 21 and started raping other toddlers.
  • Veronica
As of yet, I am not buying the molestation charges. It's nothing but gossip at this point, the only reference to it is in the apparently unmoderated source comments, and I wouldn't doubt it if Daddy Dearest made it up himself to cover up the real motive. Maybe daddy was the one molesting the girl and the kid found out. It's just as plausible.
  • Zibarro
Problem is, much like the situation with the terror suspects in Gitmo, no one would want this colony in their city/county/state.

I'd wager that, if part of the deal for the colony being built was any escapee could be shot on sight - not too many would have a problem with it. Just build it where you KNOW there are trigger happy hunters. Hell, they'd probably build a tent city right outside in the hopes someone would try to escape! ;)

It's a seriously fucked up event. The aunt has to know what they argument was about - did she not inform the cops? If this molestation story is true, would "heat of the moment" come into play here? Crime of passion?

    Please, please update when possible!

Watching wxyz.com tonight, they are also reporting that the son was caught molesting his half sister. He confessed to his mother the day before he confessed to his father. His father made him strip, beat him, then chased him out of the house.

I've always thought the death penalty should apply to child molesters. But a 15 year old?? And then I saw his picture. He looks like a 12 year old. I don't know, but it's a horrible situation, for all involved.
  • MadeaBecBec
This all apparently started when the father's girlfriend accused Jamar Junior of acting inappropriately with her three-year-old child.

"Got him all upset that he came over here to chastise his son for whatever had happened, and he beat on him already and snatched his clothes all off and then shot him," Thelmon Cherry said.

Assclown chose the vajayjay over his own flesh and blood!! And then made another crucial mistake..
Jamar's mother got a phone call from the suspect, Jamar Senior, but she believes he meant to call his girlfriend instead.

"After he did it, he called my phone... He didn't realize he was calling my phone. He said, 'Baby, I took care of this," said Lazette Cherry, the victim's mother.

The new girlfriend/vajayjay stirring up shit against future stepson, Good golly, I have never heard of that one before!! *massive eyeroll*
Read ALL of the link, you will be even more shocked and hopefully pissed off at Jamar Sr. He executed his son because of an accusation, not having witnessed it!!!

It's hard to believe he just went out there all crazy, snatched his clothes off of him, and shot him in the head over accusations. I wondered what his son admitted to doing to his little sister. He might have went psycho after having found his 3yr old daughters underwear full of blood. Then who knows.... We'll have to keep updating it.
  • Boughtthefarm
Well, I took the first post to mean that the dad CAUGHT HIS son raping HIS 3 yo daughter. I will have to take back my comment. I don't do vigilante justice on hearsay. If i'd caught my son in the act, I'd have killed him too but this a different.
  • CassieMomma
I wonder if there is previous violance coming from the father? Did something make him snap?

Jaded - I can't even come up with an answer to your question. I keep going back and forth in my head.....

  • Lazette Cherry, Jamar Jr.'s mother, said she wanted to get her 15-year-old son help when he came to her and said he had acted inappropriately with his 3-year-old half-sister.

There wasn’t a rape, Cherry said her son told her. But he confessed to his mother that he knew lying on top of the baby was wrong, she said.

So she called her son's father and told him what she believed happened in his home on Newport on Detroit’s east side.

“I called and told his father this isn’t something you sweep under the rug,” the devastated mother said today.

His father showed up at the house Monday afternoon with a gun, she said.

“He started beating him right here,” Cherry said from her living room. “I said, ‘No, please stop!’ ”

But the father marched Jamar Jr., a sophomore at Martin Luther King High School, outside.

“He got on his knees and begged, ‘No, Daddy! No!’ and he pulled the trigger,” she said. “There wasn’t nothing that my son wouldn’t do for his father. He loved his father so much."

The Wayne County Prosecutor's Office charged Pinkney Sr. with first-degree murder, punishable by up to life in prison. He's also been charged with three counts of felonious assault for pointing the gun at Cherry and two other people at her home before the shooting.
    [...]
"There's no justification for what he did, you know, downright shoot your child," she said, wondering aloud about her ex. "He didn't rape her or anything. So why did you have to come and take matters into your hands? We said we were going to get him help."

  • WOW. What a fucked up situation.

For those who think this dad did the right thing, I would like to point out that this kid may not actually be a pedophile. I mean, at that age, hormones are RAGING. Teens are known to behave sexually toward inanimate objects, for christ's sake. It sounds like he did something that he immediately recognized as inappropriate and did what we could only wish ALL individuals who act sexually toward children do - he told on himself.

However, this behavior is something that could very well have dissipated on its own after this instance - "experimentation", if you will - that does not serve as evidence of inherent sexual deviance.

Lord knows, if all parents shot and killed any kid who experimented with a sibling, the world would have A LOT less children in it.

    Jamar Pinkney Sr, in court
Lazette Cherry testified Tuesday that her son talked to her about his contact with the girl after her exam. Cherry said her son called his father about 3 a.m.

"Daddy, can you please forgive me in your heart, forgive what I did?" she quoted Jamar Pinkney Jr. as asking his father.

The mother said the elder Pinkney agreed to come to the house later to talk further. Cherry's sister, Yolanda Cherry, testified that Jamar Pinkney Sr. arrived about 10 a.m.

Yolanda Cherry said she and her sister talked about getting help for the teen, while Pinkney Sr. said he spoke with the 3-year-old's mother and she wanted to press charges.

"Jamar, is there something you want to tell me?" Yolanda Cherry quoted Pinkney Sr. as asking his son.

"He got on his knees in front of his dad and said, `I'm sorry,'" the aunt said.

"What did you do?" she quoted the father as asking.

"I humped (the girl)," the teen replied. "I need counseling."

The counseling should have been the only choice, along with a few stitches, Jamar Jr. realized he needed help and begged for it.
  • A 15-year-old Michigan boy admitted having sex with a 3-year-old girl, so enraging his father that the man pulled a gun, marched the teen to an empty lot and shot him through the head, the father's defense attorney said Tuesday.

The lawyer for Jamar Pinkney Sr., 37, said he will pursue an insanity defense as a judge in the Detroit enclave of Highland Park ruled that Pinkney should stand trial on first-degree murder, assault and firearms charges in his son's Nov. 16 death.

Defense attorney Corbett O'Meara said Pinkney's son's confession would have driven anyone crazy.

"There is no rational response to the rape of a child," O'Meara said after the hearing. "He was immediately remorseful and didn't seek to hide. He turned himself in to the police."
    [...]
Pinkney's confrontation with his son came a day after the 3-year-old underwent an examination at Children's Hospital of Michigan. Results of the exam haven't been released, but the teen's mother said they indicated her son "had molested" the girl. The Associated Press is not naming the girl or detailing her relationship to the teen to avoid identifying a victim of sexual assault.

Lazette Cherry testified Tuesday that her son told her about his contact with the girl in a conversation that stretched long into the night. She said her son called his father about 3 a.m.

"Daddy, can you please forgive me in your heart, forgive what I did?" she quoted Jamar Pinkney Jr. as asking his father.

    [...]
Both sisters testified Pinkney Sr. ordered his son to undress and marched him outside. The teen's mother said Pinkney Sr. ordered the boy to kneel in the grass, ignoring his pleas for mercy.

"I said, 'Jamar, stop. Don't do this. Think about what you're doing,'" Lazette Cherry testified.

She said Pinkney Sr. stood behind the boy and shot him in the head, then walked around still grasping the gun.

Y'all gotta read this entire article It tells plenty!! And Jamar Sr and his girlfriend were split up at the time. I believe Sr killed Jr to get her back, not because he was insanely enraged at the thought of a rape, the hospital said there was no sexual assault on the 3 year old.

I'm all for it. And idiots need to stop whining about having a supermax prison (of any tyep) in their city/country/state. No one is going to escape from a supermax facility.
  • I know, right? Bumpkins and their choice of "principles".
