Not quite like the movies, huh? Even worse is this all may have been a case of mistaken identity. The 21-year-old electrician was at a Queen Street club at around 2:40 am SaturdaySaturday reviews when a man approached him and led him to some women who had accused him of spitting on them. As he is explaining he has no clue what they are talking about, a man blindsides him with a shattering bottle to the noggin. Police are now saying that the victim wasn’t even the man the girls were looking for as video shows he wasn’t even in the area during the time of the alleged spitting incident. Not that it would have mattered anyway – the guy who swung that bottle is a coward regardless.

After the attack, the two assailants ran from the club and hid in a parking garage before catching a taxi. Police announced today that they have made two arrests in connection with the attack. A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with intentionally causing serious injury. He is to appear in court tomorrow. A 21-year-old woman was brought in and released pending a summons application. I assume that means a warrant? Admittedly, I’m not well versed in Australian legal lingo. But I do like they way they call getting hit over the head with a bottle a “glassing” – which sounds a lot cooler than “getting hit over the head with a bottle”
