Teens Accused Of Killing Brittni Carlini With Baseball Bat, Burning Body

ALBUQUERQUE - On Thursday evening 20-year-old Brittni Carlini went to the home of Ryan Vigil and Chris Midyette, both 19, to pick up her snowboard for an upcoming snowboarding trip. While there, she got into an argument with Vigil. As she tried to leave Midyette struck her two or three times over the head with a baseball bat. They the put her in the back of a vehicle, drove to a rural part of Rio Rancho, burned her body and buried it in a shallow grave. It’s not clear on why she was murdered, but Albuquerque Police Department spokesperson Nadine Hamby said, “Ryan had disclosed that he had an issue with her and that Chris was protecting him and he had his back and that is why he struck Brittni.” Both are charged with an open count of murder and tampering with evidence. Also, this isn’t the first time Vigil had issues with a female. The last girl who rebuffed his advances had her home burned down.
Now here is some more information that has come out about Ryan Vigil. He was arrested back in 2006 for burning down a family’s home. In June 2006, Vigil burned down Loni Petry’s Rio Rancho home because Vigil had a crush on her daughter who didn’t feel the same way. Vigil had even dug a grave for her daughter in his backyard. Couple of fucking clowns with no future end someone who might have had one. Still think Ryan wanted her and she was resisting, which is why he killed her. Don’t think this was because of drugs, sounds more like they were acquainted because she liked to get hiiiiiigh.

Yeah, the “protection” crap got to me too. Even if this girl came in and attacked them physically, there would have never been a need to hit her with a baseball bat.
These wastes are sick and are guilty of murder, no protection or self-defense should be even suggested.
Has anyone heard whether she was close to these guys or the one guy? I know she was going to borrow or retrieve a snowboard and so I know she KNEW him, but I was curious as to how close they were, and whether he had ever attempted to harm her before now.

Can that fucker Vigil look anymore smug? WTF?
What I’m hearing is “thug” protection – which doesn’t necessarily begin or end with a physical threat. To thugs like this, protecting their “Rep” is just as (if not more) important. If she even said something that could be construed as ‘disrespectful’ to this moron – the other would feel a ‘duty’ to step up and ‘have his back’. Pathetic and disgusting.
They worked together – but I doubt it went any farther. From her myspace, she seemed like a girl with her shit somewhat together. In college, working and in a relationship. She really seemed too ‘above’ either of these scumbags. Being a friend or acquaintance is one thing – having a romantic relationship is a whole ‘nuther.
I am wondering if the Snowboard was a ruse they used to get her to come over. Once there, she rejected fuckface Vigil and (his wannabee fuckbuddy) Midyette stepped in to prove his love (for Vigil) by bashing her head in. Could have even been preplanned as to what would happen if she said “no”. Wouldn’t put it past either of them – especially the cold, calculated Vigil. To have burned down a home in hopes of killing the occupants because his advances were spurned and digging a grave for those occupants in his backyard just screams serial killer in the making. I hope they die for this crime – especially Vigil. There is NO rehabilitating someone this evil.

I agree and he’s just 19. Thankfully he is stooopid and got caught early on, but imagine the damage he could of done….it makes me shudder.
Not that him killing Brittni doesn’t make me shudder, her family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers.

So was he still living at his parents home? I hope he’ll never have his own place if the popo does their job but he’ll likely be out in a few and this guy sounds really dangerous.(Especialy after a few years pen time)Give the dude a whole BOX of Debbies.

Wow , after watching the vids I see that the stepfather turned in the blood in the home and vehicle.Good for him.I wonder if lack of accountability was part of what lead to this type of behavior in the first place or if he’s just evil. I hope they keep him because this man WILL harm another given the chance. I could see many instances where you kill someone in a rage but to carry the body off and try to destroy and hide it really says alot for how depraived and dangerous he is. I wonder how the two found each other and if the other man had involvment with the juvenille court responsible for his “rehabilitation”.I hope they learn that what they did is not right even if they were protecting each other’s back. (Hope they’re as good at protecting each others back sides though as we could use a decline in the prision populations)
