LEXINGTON, Missouri – Not exactly sure if that is a record here at D’D, but that is impressive. The men arrested are father Burrell Mohler Sr., 77; Burrell Mohler Jr., 53; Roland Mohler, 47; Jared Mohler, 48; and David Mohler, 52. These arrests came after a months long investigation that began when the 26-year-old daughter of one of the accused came forward over the summer with information on crimes these men have been committing for decades. Authorities are now searching some rural property looking for glass jars with notes written by children who were allegedly being abused by the men – their relatives. Lafayette County Prosecutors states that a female relative of the five men was forced to have sex with a dog. Read on for a list of charges, mugshots and some video.

Burrell Mohler Sr - charged with one count of forcible rape with a child less than 12 years old by the use of forcible compulsion, two counts of felony rape and two felony counts of using a child in a sexual performance. Burrell Mohler Jr. - one felony count of deviate sexual assault with a child less than 14 and two counts of using a child in a sexual performance.

Roland Neil Mohler - one felony count of use of a child in a sexual performance. David A. Mohler - one felony count of forcible rape with a child less than 12 years old by use of forcible compulsion. Jared Leroy Mohler - One felony count of forcible rape with a child less than 12 years old by use of forcible compulsion, one felony count of forcible sodomy knowingly having deviate sexual intercourse with a child less than 12 years old by use forcible compulsion and two felony counts of use of a child in a sexual performance

Looks like Jared has been pretty busy and these guys almost had me listing every sex related tag and category we have.

Columbia police seized a computer and discs from Jared Mohler’s home on Tuesday, police spokeswoman Jessie Haden said.

David Mohler, who has worked for Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, for 27 years, was arrested on its Independence campus, which he periodically visited to work on the phone systems there.

“Police came in and put handcuffs on him and led him away,” said John Sellars, university president. “It was all very quiet and subdued.”

“We were stunned,” Sellars said. “At this point these are allegations, and of course we need to hear more because I don’t know very much at this point.” He said he spoke to David Mohler’s wife Tuesday and that she also was shocked.

They are searching for bodies!! Shame…..

“That was what they were told. Write these memories down, put them in a jar and bury it and the memories would go away,” Stosberg said. “It was a way for them to cope.”

The Community of Christ, headquartered in Independence, split from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1860 and was known as the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until 2001. It has about 250,000 members worldwide.

It’s hard to believe that none of the mothers knew about any abuse. With so many children being subjected to this crap you’d think the mom(s) would have seen some sort of signs – physical/emotional/attitudes. This is a horrible story.

On October 29, 2009, In interviewed [censored], age 26 who was identified as one of the victims in this matter. [Censored] is one of the female children of Burrell, Jr. and was born in 1983. She had suppressed many of the memories of abuse perpetrated on her as well as her siblings and is very fearful of her grandfather, father and uncles. During this interview, she identified 8 specific memories of abuse and a 9th that was perpetrated on her brother that she was forced to watch. The act perpetrated against her brother would also have been during the time listed below. She has many memories of abuse, but some of the abuse occurred in other jurisdictions in the State of Missouri as well as another State. [Censored] knows that all of these events took place prior to her turning 12 years of age and believes that most occurred from age 5 through 11 (March 1, 1988 through March 21, 1995. She became pregnant and was made to have an abortion at age 11 1/2. She doesn’t remember any sexual abuse after that date. The abuse that occurred in Lafayette County specific to Burrel E. Mohler, Sr. is outlined below.

LEXINGTON, Mo. | Hours after a father and his four middle-aged sons shuffled into court Thursday, a sixth man was arrested in connection with an expanding child sexual abuse investigation.

A 55-year-old Kansas City man, identified as an associate of Burrell E. Mohler Sr.’s extended family, was arrested on suspicion of rape of a child less than 14 years old. He was being held in the Lafayette County Jail.

Oh!! A seven year old step-son/victim!!

In their search for more victims, detectives have contacted people like Mark Young’s son, who was seven at the time of the alleged abuse. Young confirmed to police that his son was abused by one of the Mohler men.

Mark Young said he and his former wife, Pamela Robison, had a child together and that woman later married Burrell Edward Mohler, Jr. Young said Robinson and his son would disappear for days.

Young said another ex-wife of Mohler, Jr. tipped him off nearly a decade ago to sexual abuse at the Mohler family farm located in rural Lafayette County, Mo. He said she warned him so that his then seven-year old son would not become a victim.

“She started crying and advised me that she felt my son was in extreme danger,” said Young.

Young managed to get sole custody after an emergency hearing, stating alleged abuse and some other issues.

The Sixth Man is:

LAFAYETTE COUNTY, MO – Authorities say a sixth suspect has been arrested and charged in the ongoing Mohler family child sex case, in which several members of a family face charges of raping and sexually abusing at least two children.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Larry Kidd, 55, from Kansas City, Missouri, has been arrested and charged with rape of a child less than 14 years old.

Authorities say that Kidd was identified as an associate of the Mohler family, which faces numerous child sex allegations.

No charges filed against Larry Kidd, he has been released!!

Larry Kidd, who authorities have only described as an associate of the Mohler family, was released from the Lafayette County Jail and driven home by officials. According to the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, Kidd was cooperating with their investigation of the alleged sex crimes, and is not currently facing any charges.

The news of his release came as a relief to Kidd’s friends.

“(The charges were) disgusting, I mean really disgusting,” said Harry Chrisson, Kidd’s best friend. “And the man who lives in this house could not fit that profile.”

Chrisson says that he met Kidd years ago, and invited him to live in the third floor of his Kansas City, Missouri, home. Together, the two helped recovering addicts.

“Larry is exactly the man that I knew him to be,” said Chrisson, who says that he has let Kidd babysit his grandchildren. “Just their releasing him tells me everything I need to know.”

Mmmm, not sure what to make of that, except it’s possible that he just had information and since they say he is cooperating, then he must’ve given them (the LE) what they needed or wanted..

Prosecutors filed 11 new charges in the Mohler case this afternoon, raising the total to 42 against men accused of carrying out years of sexual assaults against young children in the extended family.

Also, acting on allegations that some of the assaults were used for pornography, investigators have recovered 65 video tapes from an uncle’s home in Columbia, Mo. Earlier, investigators found incest pornography, video tapes and recording equipment at the Independence home of the victims’ grandfather.

Lafayette County Prosecutor Kellie Ritchie said she did not know what was on the tapes.

According to documents to support today’s new charges, which include more accounts of bestiality, several sisters in the family ran away to flee the abuse in 1988 when the youngest would have been 6, but later returned home. As punishment, their father, Burrell Mohler Jr., allegedly made them watch him sodomize their sibling.

According to this article, the mother knew about the rapes, but didn’t go to the police. She apparently claims she went to the head of her church about it.
