Jennifer Hammond Has Been Found

SARATOGA SPRINGS, New York – The remains of 18-year-old Jennifer Hammond were found in a heavily wooded near the Edinburg/Greenfield town line. MissingMissing reviews
since 2003, Hammond was last seen at the Creek and Pines Trailer Park in Ballston Spa selling magazines door-to-door. The teen had a history of running away, but had a bus ticket back to her home state of Colorado. The ticket was never picked up, and her belongings were left in a hotel room. So now that the “where is Hammond” question has been answered, investigators will move on to figuring out how she died. But there may be more to this. Her death shares similarities with another teen found dead in the area — 19-year-old Christina White.
Investigators have not stated that there is a link between the two girls, but the similarities are pretty damn peculiar. White’s remains were found in 2006 in a wooded area in the Town of Greenfield, New York about four miles from where Hammond’s skull was found. Both White and Hammond were last seen in two different trailer parks less than one mile from each other in the town of Milton, New York. Obviously, this can be a coincidence, but the questions has been raised. Is there a serial killer operating in the area?
Police are not ruling it out, but it looks like they may focus their attention on the suspect in White’s death — John Regan of Connecticut. Regan tried to abduct a female Saratoga Springs High School student from the school parking four months after White’s disappearance. Luckily, the girl was able to escape. Regan, then 50, was convicted of attempted kidnapping. Currently an inmate at Clinton Correctional Facility, Regan was subsequently convicted of kidnapping in a 1993 case, and stalking and restraining another victim in a 2004 case.

The girls even look strikingly similar. Huh.
You know, around here, a lot of “at risk” youth programs employ door-to-door sales as a skill (and revenue) building exercise, and I never thought that was a very good idea. While door-to-door stuff is still relatively safe (I’ve done it for a number of political initiatives), it just doesn’t make sense to me to have drug addict/runaway kids who may be more prone to go inside houses if invited doing that sort of thing.

Do we know for sure that she was selling for the ‘at risk’ group? There is a group operating here in TX, that is bad news. They try and sell you magazines to earn them a trip to someplace exotic, only the magazine prices are expensive and people aren’t getting their magazines. There have also been numerous articles about these groups, how the kids are worked 80 hours a week and only earn commission and are often times assaulted by their bosses if they don’t perform up to par. Many of these workers are drug users, and the drug use is encouraged. Read up on it, pretty creepy stuff. They have also been known to do burglaries (at least in my area, I work for a Law Enforcement agency in central Texas). Perhaps one of these ‘bosses’ did her in? Was the first girl involved in a selling group like this?

Now I am by no means saying all door to door salespeople are scum…. they aren’t…. but the group I am talking about is!

Oh, I have no idea if she was associated with a youth program for at risk youth. I just assumed it might be something like that because of her history.

well the article did say she was last seen selling magazines… I just wonder if it was for school or extra curricular activity fundraising, or if she somehow got caught up in one of these scam groups…. Hopefully we’ll find out more!

I doubt she was in any “at risk” program. By the comments made in regards to the trailer parks and her history, it’s probably safe to assume the group kratesis describes is more on the money. Either way, I am curious to see if old Regan owns up to any other past behavior aside from what he has already been imprisoned for.

Of course, this guy has not been named as a suspect in Hammond’s death, but police did look at him in regards to White’s. I just wanted to get a pic of him.

NCL Executive Director Sally Greenberg said Hammond’s case, which is being treated as a homicide, highlights why traveling sales positions routinely make the league’s list of the “Five Worst Jobs for Teens.”
“Frequent crime reports involving traveling sales crews suggests that the environment they present is not a safe one for teen workers,” she said. “Working in unknown neighborhoods poses risks, especially if you are carrying money from sales or goods to sell.“

I don’t think it’s a concidence, there usually aren’t and hopefully it will make it easier to narrow the suspect down. Did Regan live in the area?

John Regan’s story was just on Dateline ID. I definatly think they should look at him. he tried to abduct lindsey from sarasota in 2005. He also raped a woman named Donna who was his best friends wife. He had slip knots already tied when he tried to abduct that girl in 2005 and an empty house he was doing construction on.
