Alex Christopher Mercado, 4, Found Stuffed In Neighbor’s Dryer

Mendota, California - Very little information on this one, but here’s what I got. Alex Christopher Mercado, 4, was reported missing last Friday evening. Alex had been left in the care of an older sibling when he disappeared. About 24 hours after little Alex vanished, his body was found stuffed in the clothes dryer of a neighbor’s home. The body had been placed in the dryer after he was killed. Though police aren’t releasing the cause or manner of death, it is being reported that a 14-year-old boy has been taken into custody and charged with murder. We will update this story as more information is made available.

    This is nothing new so I wouldn’t worry about some kind of growing trend. Kids have been killing kids for a long, long time.

    The 4-year-old Mendota boy who disappeared Friday was drowned and placed in a neighbor’s dryer before a search for the child had even begun, the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office said today.

    Sheriff Margaret Mims said Alex Christopher Mercado was playing outside his Tuft Street home Friday when a 14-year-old neighbor boy brought him into the neighbor’s home and killed him. The teenager placed the child in the dryer, which was screened by a door, Mims said. The teenager, whose name has not been released, has been arrested in connection with the child’s death.

    Prosecutors will charge a 14-year-old boy as an adult in Fresno County Superior Court in the slaying of 4-year-old Alex Christopher Mercado of Mendota.

    But Raul Renato Castro‘s mother said justice won’t be served by prosecuting him as an adult.

    “I’ll never understand why he did it,” Elsa Castro said in a telephone interview Tuesday evening. “He’s a good boy who has never been in trouble.”

    Castro told investigators he lured the victim, Alex Christopher Mercato, into his apartment “by telling the victim he had something to show him.”

    Police have said no one else was in the Mendota, California, house at the time.

    Castro then talked the boy into entering the bathroom, according to the document. Castro said he then sodomized the toddler, after which “the victim tripped over the carpet, fell, and hit the back of his head on the bathtub,” the affidavit says.

    “Castro said the victim started crying and told Castro he was going to tell his mother. Castro said he panicked and decided to kill the victim by drowning him in the bathtub.

    “Castro turned on the water to the bathtub and filled it up just enough to put the victim’s face underwater and drowned him. Castro said he held the victim underwater 2-4 minutes. Castro got into the bathtub with the victim, held him down until the victim died.”

    “Castro then carried the victim over his left shoulder and put him [in]… the clothes dryer to conceal him.”

    What a total psychopathic piece of shit that 14 year old is. Just lock him up and throw away the key, he is clearly defective beyond any hope of repair.
