Joseph Lemaster’s Eventful Evening

Long Bottom, Ohio Joseph Lemaster, 33-years old, must have decided upon a different approach to bonding with his 16-year-old daughter who visits him (rather visited him) on weekends. Instead of opting for catching a movie, chit-chatting across the kitchen table, or playing board games on the living room floor, Joseph allegedly got drunk and set the evening’s events in motion. According to police reports, his daughter attempted to leave his mobile home in a family car after an argument broke out. Daddy grabbed a .22-caliber rifle, shot her dog, then shot through the vehicle and struck her in the head.

Surviving the shot, Joseph’s daughter was able to drive herself to a neighbor’s house and was transported by helicopter to the hospital where she’s expected to make a full recovery. Her dog wasn’t so lucky. And daddy’s luck at dodging the authorities ran out the following day.

Joseph was picked up by someone as he was wandering along the roadside and taken back to his home. I think the good samaritan got a little more than he bargained for when JoJo started talking about his plans for the rest of the evening. (I’m also guessing he omitted the events that transpired prior to his walk-about) His intentions? Well…he discussed his desire to set fire to his trailer and then off himself. He only succeeded in one.

As the flames grew from the inferno he created, Joseph was seen sitting upon a hillside gazing upon the beauty he’d created. But by the time his presence was reported to the authorities, Joseph had vanished. It wasn’t until the next day that the police were finally able to track him down in the woods next to his crispy home and took him into custody.

Although it doesn’t seem likely Lemaster will be brought up on arson charges (but it’s entirely up to the Fire Marshall), he is sitting in jail on a $500,000 bond for attempted murder. Guess he’ll have time to dry out for a while and think of more appropriate ways to work out any differences he may have with his daughter. A drunken conniption definitely didn’t work out so well for him. Maybe a puppy?

    Maybe a puppy?

Hope he’s never allowed around animals again – or his daughter for that matter.

I’m having a hard time buying that alcohol was the only contributing factor in all this. I smell a psych eval in his future. To kill a dog, attempt to kill your daughter – then a while later – go back and set your home on fire with the thought of killing yourself, too …. just reeks of someone who’s sanity ship has sailed. Might be wrong.

    Just glad his daughter survived.

Damn I was hoping it wasn’t the fire…..oh well.

How these kids get past what their derilict parents put them through is beyond me. I hope she’s a strong girl and gets past this (and recovers fully). I know I will be thinking of her and cheering her on!

LeMaster is an Abusive Asshole, first conviction of domestic violence was in 1995!

    Just type in his name!!

I imagine besides the physical pain, this poor girl is in an emotional uproar, dayum, your own father shoots you and you live, hurt doesn’t even describe it!

oh they need to add some charges, so we can make sure justice is served hopefully they won’t let him walk anytime soon.

I seriously will be upset if more charges are not set such as animal cruelty and the arson.

Tag here isn’t even filed under them :(

His daughter must be one head strong young lady. I do hope she can get through this it must be very tough on her and the family. Wish you all well !!!
