That’s just not enough time for such evil. These laws need to be harsher! I am sure he will be found guilty, and I hope every day he is in jail he thinks about poor Donna. Just the suffering alone makes me sick to my stomach. I don’t care what, no animal deserves this!

I was severely attacked by cat we took in a few years back. She was deaf – and extremely sensitive. When we got her, she was pregnant. When the kittens came, she was more protective then some HUMAN mothers! She’d attacked me once before that awful day, but she just wrapped around my ankle and clawed. On the day I certainly COULD have justifiably killed her – she did way more.
She’d been hiding out with her kittens in my daughters room. I went in to put food in her bowl and she came around behind me and clamped her teeth down on my hand. To say it hurt would be an understatement. When I got it loose, my blood was literally squirting to the walls. I tried to leave the room – and she proceeded to pounce on my leg. She was in a full out frenzy by now – biting, clawing… and I was in a full out panic! Screaming (to an empty house) for help cuz I could NOT get out of the room! I grabbed her by her front legs a thrust her off of me – only to have her come back a 3rd time. I could feel the blood gushing out of my body – and she was NOT about to let up. I got loose again and grabbed a comforter and threw it on her – and bolted out the door (closing it tightly behind me)
My oldest son was just bounding the stairs as I got to them. He’d heard me screaming. He saw the blood (still squirting from the top of my hand) and rushed me to the bathroom. Once there, as I ran my hand under the cold water, he bent down to lift my pants legs. I honestly didn’t think it could be too bad – but I was wrong. My legs were a nice shade of red from the blood running down both of them, too! Once I washed the wounds, my son proceeded to try to bandage me. He finally stopped at wound 35.
Unfortunately, the story didn’t end there. The next day, I went to the ER because my hand was swelling and oozing. They rushed me to the back and hooked me up to IV antibiotics – 2 bags of them. The doc said 80% of cat bites carry a deadly bacteria. Had I not come in – I would have died from the infection! He also sent me home with a 14 day supply.
No one went near the cat or kittens for 3 days. That’s when animal control came and took them all. I worried about them – but was too scared to go near that room. Once she was gone, we had quite a mess to clean. Blood spattered walls, dressers and bedding (my blood, not hers!)
My point? I DIDN’T KILL HER! I didn’t even injure her! (Though I worried that I did when I threw her off of me)
A person who can do what he did to that poor cat can do that to pretty much anything or anyone that pisses him off. Who’s next? His child?? Someone else’s child??

Oh wow… I would seriously like to take that… “person”… and grab his jaw and yank it down so hard he STEPS ON IT!! omg this kills me, I can’t stand the thought of this poor critter suffering like that Fucking asshole, I hope he was scratched and dies of infection in jail. Slowly.

Another worthless coward. I have no doubt that this guy would shake or beat a baby to death. Though cat killers often say, “Oh, it’s just a cat” as an excuse (calling Cheyenne Cherry), I think it’s less about the cat being a “lesser” species than it is about inflicting pain on something (or someone) that can’t defend itself.
I hope this sadistic fucker pays for what he did and doesn’t get off with a slap on the wrist, which he probably will.

I know exactly what you mean Zibarro – I was bitten by one of the stray cats we feed, because he had followed me into the house, and I made the mistake of trying to pick him up to put him back outside. I knew how skitish he was, but I thought I was some kind cat whisperer. Anyway, he turned around and took a big mouthful of the back of my left hand and chomped down. I, of course, dropped him immediately, as blood poured out of the 4 perfectly spaced puncture wounds.
I knew how bad a cat bite could be, and was on antibiotics in less than 4 hours, but my hand still ended looking like one of those “We’re Number One” foam hands you get a baseball games.
One of the nurses who treated me asked me if I killed the cat, or beat him up, or something like that. I remember telling her, “For what? He was just being a cat. That’s what they do when they’re afraid.”
Of course, our friend Chris must be a very special person. If some cat dare hurts him, I guess it must deserve a good stomping. Yeah right..I’d love to get a piece of this guy – I’d feed his remains to my 12 cats and 3 little kittens.

I actually worried about her and the kittens… were they ok? Did they get enough food? Water? Did I hurt her when I thrust her off me? The last was pretty well answered when Animal Control took her out. She was in a sort of net (I didn’t like seeing that) and she was flipping out! Not a damn thing looked broken or otherwise injured! ‘Cept maybe her pride.
I think what got my goat was my oldest son’s girlfriend and her mother were the previous owners of this cat before we were graced with her presence. After all this happened – the girlfriend was mad at me for having her taken by AC! Asked if I called to see if she was being put down.. I said “no”… I would rather not know what her fate was. I don’t need to feel guilty for something I didn’t cause. I know she likely lived long enough to feed her kittens till they could be weaned. Beyond that – I just don’t want to know – I just don’t want to care. She even considered getting the cat BACK! Even tho she herself had been bitten by her once! Dee Dee Dee.
I know that some people would have killed her on the spot. I’ve heard them say it. Don’t know if I’d blame them or not in a case like mine. I have no idea how I kept any wits about me. Douche bag Christopher was not “attacked” by this kitten – she scratched or bit him – like kittens are known to do (probably after being antagonized by him!) This asshole was just looking for an outlet for some pent up shit – and this poor cat became the perfect, defenseless target. Laws need to change. People who go after defenseless animals need incentive NOT to.
I don’t understand why it is so easy for people to just dismiss animals as unimportant or disposable. Harming or killing a cat or dog to them is no different than squashing a bug on the wall.
For example – would Michael Vick be playing football right now if he’s set his kids on other kids to fight like he did the dogs? If he showed depraved indifference to the well-being of his (or someone elses) kids the way he did those dogs? I think not. But – they were just dogs. No big deal.
Max’s nurse is a perfect example of people who think it’s OK to beat the crap out of an animal when they are just doing what comes naturally. No harm was intended to Max. Feral cats are all about protecting themselves. They are NOT about trusting humans. Hell, can ya blame them?

What an asswipe. Two years in jail and a fine of up to 10 grand is not enough! There is nothing that cat could have done that deserved the miserable death she got.
Like Zibarro and Max the Cat, I have war stories involving the cats I care for and permanent scars to prove it! I’ve been angry at my cats a few times (like this one who used to wake me up at 2am by jumping in bed and peeing on me) but I have never hurt them. No animal deserves to be beaten, thrown down stairs, stomped and then locked away, frightened and confused, without food, water, litter box and medical care. Well, not quite. I can think of one animal that might deserve such a fate. Some humans. Humans like Christopher Shaw.
Rest in peace, Donna. I hope that if there is a kitty heaven somewhere, it has all the milk, cream and catnip you could ever want. As for Christopher Shaw, if there is a hell, I hope he spends eternity staked to the ground in a giant litter box like the worthless piece of shit he is.

When I was younger I had a cat that used scratching and biting as her form of “cat speak” and she was always a difficult pet to deal with but we always loved her very much and I hate the fact that some poor cat died for doing a similar sort of thing

I’m definitely not a cat killer and probably not the only one to think that it is just a cat. Although, I do believe that it is wrong to kill animals for stupid shit I don’t think they should be jailed over it. There are too many real child-molesting, baby killing, armed robbery criminals walking the streets uncuffed to worry about jailing someone who killed a cat. The cat should be treated as property (sorry cat fans) and the accused, if convicted should pay a hefty fine to the courts for the cost of them even having to deal with it, and also should reimburse the owner of said cat. A cat is an animal, something of lower intelligence then, well, most of us and should be treated as such. Jails and prisons are just too overcrowded for a cat-killer. Save room for the sicko baby killers and just ban the guy from ever owning an animal.
