Aaron Burke’s Stepdaughter Made A Loud Splash
October 18, 2009 by thinkgoat
Maiden, North Carolina Aaron Burke’s wife left her home Monday evening to help a friend move some furniture when she realized she had forgotten her driver’s license at home. Upon her return an hour later, she walked into the house and into her bedroom closet to retrieve her purse when she noticed a light on in the adjacent room, her daughter’s clothes on the floor, and splashing sounds coming from the bathroom. Sounds fun, right? It wasn’t quite the playful bath time one might expect to find. She allegedly walked in on her disabled husband holding her 23-month-old daughter under water while she was struggling against his grip.
After screaming at him and striking him on the back of his neck, Aaron’s wife was able to retrieve her daughter from the bathtub and claimed the child was coughing and puked some water. But you know, it just didn’t end there. His wife also claims he struck her on the left side of her face and ran over her with his scooter, knocking her down screaming at her to get out saying that if she returned, “he would kill her.”
I’m not so sure I would have stood there and argued with him. I don’t know what’s wrong with these people… grab the child and get the fuck out. Call the cops on the prick. Call the ambulance. Don’t stand there in a pissing match long enough to have this dude in a wheel chair kick your ass too. Run.
Tuesday, Burke’s wife contacted the authorities. This happened on Monday. She’sShe reviews
claiming he tried to kill his stepdaughter. She didn’t call authorities when it happened, the child was not checked out at the hospital, but that didn’t stop her from filing a warrant. Police arrested Aaron and charged him with assault on a female, communicating threats, child abuse, and assault on a child under the age of 12.
Deputy Chief Reid said, since the incident wasn’t reported until Tuesday, there were still some evidence being investigated. “You have one person’s word against another’s.” Aaron Burke was released on a $3000 secured bond. Maybe, just maybe, we’ll update this story with her name in the news. Or maybe I’m just cynical.

I might not have called the authorities either…. that would be A LOT of blood to clean up before they got there to retrieve his cripled, hacked up body.

She left the house without her purse – and was 30 minutes away when she realized this – but still she returned to the house to retrieve it even though a friend was waiting for assistance.
Oooookay – I’ll buy that, it sounds illogical but who knows.
The daughter is lucky mom forgot her DL and unfortunate to have a psychopath as a stepdad.
Or the daughter’s welfare and well-being is in the hands of a parent that is very willing to involve her daughter in a charade.
The fact that mom was so shaken she didn’t seek medical help after the daughter threw-up water and was a victim of attempted drowning does not bode well for her child’s future – or mom’s (one way or another).

Yes very strange I would have gone to the hospital right away. We were just down at the beach, I have a 3 almost 4 year old. We did a lot of swimming and of course there were times my daughter swallowed some water and I swear almost everytime I thought “I better watch her. I remember that little boy who died hours later because he had water in his lungs”. Of course it was no where near that extreme, just normal play, but still Mother’s instinct maybe? Hope there’s a chance for this little girls future.
