The Crazies Trailer
October 15, 2009 by Morbid
Just doing a little brain bleach and figured I’d take a break from all the murderin’ and such and post a movie trailer or two that checked out today. Starting with the remake of George Romero’s 1973 horror film, The CraziesThe Crazies reviews
. In the remake, a small Iowa town’s citizens must deal with their friends, family and neighbors suddenly going insane after a mysterious toxin contaminates their water supply. The film will be directed by Breck Eisner, the man directing the upcoming Flash GordonFlash Gordon reviews
and CreatureCreature reviews
from the Black Lagoon flicks. Check out the trailer and let me know what you think. Personally, I never really liked the original, but whatever.
So whatcha’ think? Think it will be any good? I have also come to hate the song Mad WorldMad World reviews
. Not because it was used in this trailer, but because I think I have heard it 1000 times by now without ever intentionally picking it to listen to.

I’m a bit biased since I’ve frequented the Lenox, IA area where this movie was shot, but at least from the trailer it looks fairly promising.
I’ve seen the original… and that was a very very bad movie (potentially one of the worst I’ve ever seen). That being the case, it wouldn’t take much to make this a better movie.
Based purely on the trailer (and of course those never lie) this could be a good movie.

This Eisner cat sure seems to be on some kind of fast track. Out of nowhere then this, Flash Gordon and Creature from the Black Lagoon? Then I looked at the comments in IMDB. Guess being Michael Eisner’s son has its perks.

See, this is why I’m not patently anti-remake like a good chunk of the horror fanatics I know. I just think the remakes have been misused, to an extent. When you’ve got retards remaking horror classics by stripping the movie of everything that made it great originally for the purpose of mass consumption, that’s a bad use of a remake. But when you take a movie with a solid premise that simply failed to execute and give it an updated look while ironing out the bugs (as I hope he’s done to this)… Well, that’s exactly what remakes are for, in my opinion.
So, yeah… fuckin’ right on. If executed properly, this has the potential to be creepy AND gory. My favorite.
Oh, and LMAO @ “Mad World”. When I read that sentence, I was like, “Huh? I don’t even know that song.” After watching the trailer, I was like, “Oh, THAT song.” You couldn’t be more accurate.

I never saw the original movie, and I never heard that song before. So simply based on the trailer, yea, it looks like it would be a good movie.

Here are the reasons why I have heard this song.
Donnie Darko:
Gears of War Commercial:
And of course the version I heard growing up. the original by Tears for Fears:
And the original video from the Gary Jules version:
And that was a blatant excuse to use video embedding for a song that I am sick of.
