James Davis Arrested For Taping Pussy

PHILADELPHIA – An arrest was made in the duct taped cat incident. Seems as if someone got as fed up with a cat as I do with mine, but took things a bit to far. Where I just use a laser pen to drive my cat nuts and get it to run into furniture, James Davis, 19, completely duct taped a cat, stuck it in a grocery bag and then left it in a neighbor’s yard. “Basically he saw the animal in his yard, didn’t like the animal in the yard,” said George Bengal of the PSPCA. “I think this young fellow has a lot of issues going on in his life. He was very remorseful for what he did. Hopefully he will get the help that he needs.” The kid is going through some tough times after his father and brother were murdered. He is now facing two years in prison for animal cruelty. Dunno if prison is the best answer in this case, but the guy really, really needs some professional help before that misplaced aggression is focused towards one of us. read on for a video report and pics of the cat – now named Sticky.

at least he didnt bash its head or fuck the cats ass like most stories we read,
  • Veronica
Wonder, I was operating under the assumption that the guy was TRULY remorseful as the PSPCA said, but who really knows. Cops and lawyers often say that about people who have abused animals, because animal abuse isn't always taken as seriously as it should (they don't get that these people often have personality disorders, not a mental illness that can be "helped"), but this was coming from the PSPCA itself. Maybe someone there talked with him, that's not really clear to me. I said working with animals under supervision because of the concerns you mentioned, and if he harms another animal or even acts like he might, then the community service should be revoked and he should serve some jail time. If James Davis shows any signs at all that his "remorse" was fake, he should pay for sure. He should also be under probabtion for quite some time, especially considering the link between animal abuse and "human abuse."
  • Wonder
Strikes me Odd, for those of you that think this person should get, community service working, volunteering with animals.

For me that's like sending a child molester to community service at a youth camp, school, sports clinic. This fool needs isolated from all living and breathing creatures / humans.
    ------------
Revenge against the person(s) that murdered his family members?
    ------------
I think that its pretty serious myself, considering that crime stoppers will be paying $ + the $ for the arrest and procedures cost. An igorant and cruel thing to do.

There have been some lawsuits, ever see the baby duct taped to the wall?

I am all for the courts to do their job investigate the indiviual and come up with a plan how to handle it and decide on a solution, punishment so that it fits the crime and cures the person leading them to live and walk a straight line. (I too think this guy will be back on the frontpage one day. :( ) Unfortunely it doesn't work like it should... I have respect for those officials that go above and beyond and seek, knowledge and information that explains whyyyy these things happen and make educational and expertise decisions. Then one that is just bamm bamm looks straight through the person and treats them like a case number.

I love sheriff Joe's ideas but I would not recommend this guy for the section of the tent city that work with animals.......... no way -
  • vxiii
he didnt try to fuck the cat or bash her helpless head in, like most of the shitheads we hear about here, he taped her up, while that may seem like a lot, and it is, I dont know what motivated him to do this but he had a conscience unlike others so therefore he dont deserve hell... in this case community service will help him... make him go work at the humane society, i think seeing all the animals put down will send him to his own hell... No hell for him...
  • mopar
I wonder if they keep some type of records so that he'll not be allowed to adopt an animal?Anybody know?
  • Veronica
some sarcasm some truth, some have real hate issues; need to loosen up or get help
    later

Unfortunately, there is no "help" for personality disorders, and most people who torture animals have antisocial personality disorder or are outright sociopaths. That said, I wouldn't consider this case torture, more like misplaced aggression and frustration as Morbid alluded to. I can actually see this kid learning his lesson by working with abused and unwanted animals (with supervision, of course).

so crime against an animal is harsh to deter crime against people
Crime against people not harsh because it’s to late to deter?
kill, rape and pillage children, just don’t mess with the cats

Total strawman. No one is coming close to saying that.

To many child molesters and abusers out because jails are crowded with animal abusers

Wow. This is just ridiculous in the extreme. I've already said it twice but I'll say it AGAIN: The jails are NOT crowded with animal abusers, as jail time for animal cruelty is NOT the norm. This is simple stuff. The jails are not crowded with animal abusers. Hope that settles it once and for all. The jails are not crowded with animal abusers. At all. Not even close.

Animal abuse sentences are about the least valid scapegoat for crowded jails possible.

    I hate PETA!

So do I. But PETA is irrelevant here. They are against pet ownership, period. Cruelty against domestic animals is not a priority for them.

let’s make sure we have room in our jails for the most deserving

Ok. Sounds good. How about we let out all the people in for pot crimes and drug possession, and there will be more than enough room for child molesters, child killers AND animal abusers.

Crime against people not harsh because it's to late to deter?

To many child molesters and abusers out because jails are crowded with animal abusers
I hate PETA! Just thought I'd throw that in, I can't stand crimes against animals deserving more punishment than crimes against children, I know animals are defenseless and I hate to see abuse of any kind, but I'll save the harshest punishment for crimes against children and humans in general, let's make sure we have room in our jails for the most deserving
  • Rawrehz.
    now known as Sticky... haha.
But anyways, totally ridiculous he gets 2 yrs in prison!? But that stupid 16 yr old cunt who left her baby to drown in the tub while she wrote poetry gets 6 years probation. un-fucking-believable,
  • Veronica
And just to be clear, for many animal cruelty crimes (like the Tyler Weinman cat torturing case), two years is not nearly ENOUGH, especially considering the proven link between animal cruelty and cruelty against humans.

Compared to what a lot of people do to animals, especially to cats, this isn't all that bad, but he should receive probation and counseling and, I think, work with abandoned and abused animals. If he is truly remorseful as they said, then he can probably gain a lot from community service.
  • Veronica
Veronica I do think that animal cruelty crimes are too HARSH, seeing as how you get more jail time for animal crimes than for let’s say vehicular manslaughter!

Who says that you "get more jail time for animal crimes" than for vehicular manslaughter? Where are you even getting that from. What's so amazing about this case is that they mentioned actual jail time for animal cruelty. Because it's so rare. Like I said, I don't think this is the guy you want to make an example of, but significant jail time for animal cruelty is NOT the norm.

That's what's so baffling about your position.

Once we let out all the people languishing in jail for drug possession, then you can bitch about animal cruelty sentences. Better yet, you won't bitch at all, because if we unclogged the prisons of harmless drug users, we could make sure that people get lengthy prison sentences for not only vehicular manslaughter, but animal cruelty as well (for a change). Not to mention that we might be able to keep pedophiles locked away for long periods without parole.

It's crazy scapegoat animal cruelty sentences, off all things. It's bizarre, and not based in reality, because jail time for animal cruelty is not the norm. At all.

unraveled bear, I concur with everything you said.
  • CassieMomma
I actually kind of feel bad for this guy.....his brothers and father were murdered......I can't even imagine, however he should of used another form of "therapy" instead of duct taping a cat. Maybe this was a cry for help and now he'll finally get it!
  • ccrnjr
While I don't like the idea of anything being tortured, I do eat meat. I have also had cats and they toyed with rodents before killing them. The young man needs therapy. The duct taped cat is symptom of underlying emotional issues. I hope he gets the help that he needs before he graduates to humans.
  • unraveled_bear
TwoTone, I agree that punishments for some crimes are way too low, but I'm not sure that the problem is that penalties for animal crimes are too harsh. One reason crimes against animals are taken as seriously as they are is that there is a strong correlation between animal cruelty and later escalation to crimes against people. If we started proper and effective sentencing against what you term "real criminals," I really don't think animal cruelty laws would look harsh by comparison.

This is just my opinion, of course. Personally, I find the fact that a person on a marijuana charge can get as much or more time as a person that deliberately inflicts suffering on an animal to be much more worrisome.

I do wholeheartedly agree with you, Veronica, and defenestratethis that THIS case is different than many animal cruelty cases. I doubt prison will do anything other than exacerbate things. Some mandated inpatient therapy seems more appropriate, especially given what he is going through. This reads less like an act of deliberately causing suffering, and more like a young man who cannot cope effectively with even minor frustration. However, if he has exhausted his coping mechanisms to this extent, for his own good and the good of those around him, I don't think addressing these issues can be optional.
  • TwoToneAlCapone
Veronica I do think that animal cruelty crimes are too HARSH, seeing as how you get more jail time for animal crimes than for let's say vehicular manslaughter! I just think that the government should lock up real criminals for two year sentences. This guy needs help that prison won't give him
  • defenestratethis
Poor kitty. I agree with Veronica. Some time time spent caring for animals might help this guy with his grief. Helping others (animal or human) is one of the best remedies for depression. Still...that was cruel. There's really no excuse for animal cruelty. Why take your frutration (or whatever) out on an innocent being? If you engage in deliberate cruelty, it doesnt matter that your victim may be may be furry and 4 legged...it's WRONG. We need harsher penalties for animal cruelty.
  • Veronica
What kills me is that TwoToneAlCapone here seems to think that not only are animal cruelty charges TOO HARSH, but that they somehow serve as a metaphor for why our legal system is so fucked up. Whereas I don't think jail time is really warranted in this particular case, in general sentences for animal cruelty are a complete joke and often involve no jail time at all. However, I don't think this is the guy you want to make an example of. Let's save that for Tyler Weinman, the alleged serial cat torturer. What this guy needs is court-ordered counseling and some hefty community service at the animal shelter or local cat rescue.
  • Jury
Stupid kid didn't know duct tape leaves finger prints. I bet he has been arrested before.
  • BriarRose
He didn't cover the cat's head, left it where it would be found and it lived.

Jail time seems way out of line.

As for Polanski, the mother of the then 13 year old should be doing the same sentence. Who delivers and leaves their kid for a "photo shoot" not expecting what happened? Stage mothers.... scum of the earth, bless their hearts.
  • Uvgottabkiddin
Reserve a spot on the front page, he'll be back.
  • TwoToneAlCapone
Yeah but still... Polanski should be castrated then sent to prison. This guy should have to go to a mental hospital till he get's over his father and brother..
  • damn, how do you get duct tape off of a cat?

I also use a laser to make my pup run up the walls and in circles. its hilarious and the kids LOVE it, and he loves the attention.

as for 2 years in prison, I think thats a bit harsh...maybe some highly supervised volunteer work at the local shelter with probation and counseling. I think that would help him better than prison.
  • It would be crazy to see Polanski get less jail time for fucking a 13-year-old in the ass than this guy. But to clarify, he has not been sentenced. The charge he was charged with carries a possible 2-year-prison sentence.
  • TwoToneAlCapone
Are you SERIOUS? Our judicial system is FUCKED up! Dante' Stallworth killed a man drunk driving and get's thirty days in jail, but this guy duct tapes a cat and get two years in prison? A cat has more rights than a human? I give up on the American judicial system...
  • Dumbfounded
I agree with you here .. Animals seem to have more rights than humans in California all those people have lost their jobs and crops and are eating food from the government to save some stupid fish In hope valley . The farmers cant water any crops so they cant farm and make money to survive.. Its sick !!!!
