The Voices Told Ryan Renfroe To Shoot

North Vernon, Indiana Just yesterday I opined about people getting off on insanity pleas. It seems so easy to exclaim, “the voices in my head made me do it” and for some whacked out defense attorney and a complacent judicial system, it’s easy to see why these idiots end up in an asylum instead of behind bars. The need to try to rehabilitate some of these evil fucks is beyond me. You can fix a lot of things in this world but stupid is not one of them. Hell, they tried with lobotomies. Didn’t work. It just made the condition worse and a whole lot messier with all the drooling. Now they do the same thing with medications. It doesn’t make the voices go away, just shuts them the fuck up for a while. Until next time they tell you to kill…just like the voices in Ryan Renfroe’s head.

Ryan Renfroe

Police on patrol discovered an abandoned vehicle along the side of the road in Indiana and as they were getting ready to have it towed, another vehicle pulled up with information on the driver. A fantastic turn of events. Not only did they have information, they knew exactly where police could find him because they had offered the young man a ride to a truck stop.

As the police were questioning 17-year-old Ryan about the car’s owner, they became a little suspicious, especially since Ryan had a gun on him. So police dispatched a unit to check on the owners of the vehicle and they found Gregory Gough (69) and his wheelchair bound wife Marguirite (66) shot to death in their home. Bummer.

Ryan Renfroe allegedly had been at the Gough residence for most of the afternoon shooting firearms in the back yard when he left for a while to obtain some ear protection from a friend, then returned. Gregory and Marguirite invited the lad to stay for supper and afterwards, as the guns were being cleaned, Ryan walked into another room where his spiffy head was invaded by voices telling him to march on in there and shoot Gregory dead. So he allegedly did. It’s not known if the voices included Mrs. Gough in the killing spree or if that was left to Ryan’s good judgement.

The next plan of action was that Ryan would take the guns, some money, steal their car and head to Texas to commit suicide. It just wouldn’t be a big story without ending it in Texas now, would it. But being that Ryan must have been a shitty driver, he had a little mishap along the way, ended up ditching the car and hitching a ride, thus spoiling his plans. Now he’s sitting in jail.

Ryan Renfroe is facing two counts of murder, automobile theft, robbery with a deadly weapon, and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. They are looking to try him as an adult.

I get so tired hearing about the “voices”. What makes these sick fucks think they have to listen? The only voices I listen to are the ones telling me to have some ice cream :D

It’s an obvious ploy to avoid responsibility for this masterminds intrepid plan to score some cash, guns, and a bitchin’ old lady ride. Let him rot with the other brainiacs.

Eears voices at some point in their life you just got to chalk it up to your imagination playing tricks on you and move on. It’s all in your head and it gets as bad as you want it to be. This is not a sickness its a made up fantasy for people who can’t cope with their problems.

    Oh me Oh my!

According to court documents, Renfroe said he pushed Gough into a wall, grabbed a 9-mm pistol and shot Gough in the back of the head, dropping the man to his knees.

As Gough struggled to get up, Renfroe told police he again shot him in the head, killing him.

He then stepped over a pool of blood and into the next room, where Gough’s wheelchair-bound wife was sitting next to the kitchen table.

Renfroe told police he pointed the gun at the woman’s head, looked away and pulled the trigger, killing her.

He walked back into the bedroom and took a brown purse, ammunition and two pistols, including the one he used to shoot the couple.

He also reached into Gough’s pocket and took about $129 and another handgun, walked out of the house and drove away in Gough’s car.

Ugh. Yeah, I got nothin’. Except that this happened one county over from me.

And there are people for whom “the voices” are more real than real people. I’m just not so sure this kid’s one of them. Stealing money, guns and a car? I think what was speaking to this kid was probably meth.

Also, that truck stop has some bitchin biscuits and gravy.

This happened just a few miles away from me. and Ryan went to school with my younger brothers. The kid is nuts for sure, but the “voices” are clearly a ploy to get out of it. He also didn’t help his case any when he and two other teens in our local jail tried to escape by holding three guards hostage and stabbing them, leaving all three hospitalized and one in critical condition after being stabbed in the head. This kid needs to be locked away forever.

You are so right! Here’s part of the story from msnbc:

Two of the inmates, 17-year-old Ryan T. Renfroe and 19-year-old Roger Lee Bushhorn, face preliminary charges of kidnapping, criminal confinement, attempted escape with a deadly weapon and attempted escape with serious bodily injury. The third, 17-year-old James A. Smith, faces similar charges along with a felony charge of attempted murder, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

    All teenagers! WOW!
