Danmell Ndonye Lied About Hofstra University Gang Rape

UNIONDALE, New York – The rape story everyone was talking about yesterday? You know, the Hofstra gang rape story in which an 18-year-old student claimed she was raped by five men on campus? Yeah well, she lied. “Late this evening, during the continuation of the Nassau County Police Department’s investigation of the allegation, and under questioning by my office’s chief trial attorney and chief sex crimes prosecutor, the alleged victim of the sexual assault admitted that the encounter that took place early SundaySunday reviews
morning was consensual,” Nassau County, New York, District Attorney Kathleen Rice said. A judge dismissed all charges Wednesday night.
The girl’s accusations had four men – Kevin R. Taveras, 20; Stalin Felipe, 19; Jesus L. Ortiz, 19; and Rondell Bedward, 21 – sitting in jail on rape charges until their release on Wednesday night.
“I have launched an immediate criminal investigation into the statements and reports given by the woman in connection with this incident. Further details regarding this investigation will be released at a later time,” said Rice.

Outside of the jail, after being released, Kevin Taveras said he was looking forward to a hot shower and that the experience has been terrible. “I feel like our names were tarnished. But maybe with all the news out, people will see we’re not rapers.” He is now going to try and get his job back.
Felipe, who heard the news in his jail cell, said he didn’t have any hard feelings toward his accuser and added, “Me and [Taveras] were smiling. We couldn’t believe this was true. I thought it was a dream, a pretty good one.”
Bedward, who had been suspended by the university after his arrest, would not speak with reporters.
I seriously doubt this chick understands the severity of what she has done. Not just these guys she accused, but rape victims everywhere. Un-fucking-believable.

page (as I am sure everyone did the second her name was released) but didn’t want to post the picture attached to it until there was confirmation that it was her.
As many have stated in the comments, she recanted her story after she was presented with video that had been taken during her sexual encounter. They do not say if the video specifically shows her enjoying multiple dicks at the same time, but it does the news is stating it looked like a “porn film” and that it displayed a completely different scenario than the one she described. No rope, no tying up, no rape – it’s all consensual, baby. Her reasoning for sending four innocent men to jail? She was afraid to tell her boyfriend about having a men’s room gang-bang. Now the Danmell Ndonye may be facing criminal charges for lying to police about what happened, and I hope that it happens.
She came real close to ruining those four men’s lives. And think about this. What if there had been no video? I mean, it’s the only reason why she recanted. She was willing to send four men to jail for something they did not do, all to keep her boyfriend from being pissed. What do you think she was going to do if admitting she had lied was going to giver her possible criminal charges and the scorn of everyone everywhere? Nothing, that’s what I think. I think she would have followed this through all the way to trial.
But no matter, the gig is up and now she will have to lay in that sticky bed she just made. Even if charges are not filed, the scorn and ridicule she will now face will probably be more of a punishment than any number days at jail. As fast as Hofstra dumped Bedward at the first mention of rape, a status that has since been reversed, I foresee Danmell getting the same treatment shortly.

I’m anxious to read more about this – I hope she isn’t just changing her story because of fear or threats. I had made a comment yesterday that a certain post, blaming the victim, set rape victims’ rights back 50 years. Well, if the sex really was consensual here, this girl not only owes apologies to the accused and their families, but to every rape victim who was ever laughed at, sneered at and humiliated in her quest for justice.

Yeah, they could sue for defamation or the like but I agree she’s probably not got any money to be gained. But perhaps in a situation like this, it’s worth it to sue on principle if nothing else. Once you’re accused of rape, regardless of the outcome, that’s what you’re remembered for for a long time to come.

Uh, but so do men. When men rape, they usually lie, and say they didn’t. The way you put that, it almost sounds like people are justified in treating rape allegations as suspicious in general. I don’t think we can allow lying bitches like this to create a culture of suspicion that sets women back, they are doing enough of that themselves without others adding to it in reaction.

Absolutely. When sex is treated as something depraved and inherently dangerous, it creates the kind of psychological conflict that can manifest itself in bizarre and destructive ways.
When I was a kid, my neighbor two doors down was a fundie who had a daughter my age. Dad was a pastor/carpenter (Jesus complex, anyone?) and mom was a subservient seamstress. I got temporarily banned from their house for things that included bringing a book about dinosaurs to the house and dancing in a hip-hop style. You get the drift.
As we grew up, the daughter became sexually active sooner than the rest of us. But she didn’t tell anyone. When word got out, she claimed “amnesia” and swore up and down she was still a virgin. This happened with several dudes. I was just waiting for the day that “amnesia” became “rape”.

Building on both what Athena and Undeniable Truth said, what bugs me is the idea that women who have a lot of sex or sex with multiple guys are “sluts,” while the men are “just being men.” That pisses me off. Like Athena said, if the sex is consensual, name-calling is not in order for ANY of the participants. Unfortunately, the guys themselves are often the ones calling the girl they just screwed a “slut.” That’s just part of pervasive misogynism in our culture, misogynism that false accusers like this girl help fuel with their lies.
Not that it matters, but I wonder if what spurred this girl to the false rape allegation was not only shame, but the way the guys treated her afterward. And being immature and unable to stand up for herself and retain her dignity, she stooped to this level. Who knows, I’m just speculating. She sort of lost the benefit of the doubt already.

I wouldn’t be surprised, Veronica, if this was some sort of “revenge” allegation, like you suggested. All these folks are young; I can imagine one of these boys saying something disrespectful or running his mouth ot others after the incident, so she thought, “Oh yeah? I can fuck your whole world up.”

1. Yesterday, I was looking at the pictures of these men and feeling absolute disgust and hatred for them. Today, I look at this picture and feel a sense of relief for them, as well as shame for feeling so much hatred and vulgarity before they were even proven guilty of their crimes. What a difference a day makes.

I kinda wondered if something was amiss when I saw the clip of a fellow dorm member who said he didnt hear a thing, even though his room was in close proximity to the bathroom, where the alleged “rape” occured. If a womans lustful escapades trouble her so much, she should either change her behavior, or, (as long as all involved are consenting adults) just accept her sexuality, and take preventative measures to ensure that no one gets hurt. Too many people have gone to jail because of someone elses guilty conscience.

i went back to orginal story and re-watched the video there, It became quite alarming that she was able to lie that well to make the investigator/detective to believe her and go into such details. Then to hear the boy explain if he had or his roommates had heard anything how they would react. The the woman at the end saying how its the victims first year. Suddenly opened my eyes to how insecure the other students living there must feel. Not just helpless but betrayed. They were inocent bystanders pulled into the FAKE news story.
