Boy Sexually Assaulted In Burger King Restroom

WEST VALLEY CITY – I could have come up with some clever title using the Burger King slogan, but you know what? This story pisses me off like you wouldn’t believe. A mother and her 7-year-old son were in a Burger King. The boy went to use the restroom while his mother was ordering their food. When he walked in, a man was waiting in the restroom and forced the young boy into a stall where he “brutally” sexually assaulted him for a few minutes. The man then left the bathroom walking past the boy’s mother who was heading towards the restroom looking for him. Police have no idea who he is, but they do have surveillance video from a nearby business. Check it out after the jump.
There is a nice death penalty debate going on in the forums right now, well…as nice as any death penalty debate can get, I guess. But I do not want the death penalty as a punishment or even a deterrent. On the contrary, I want it as a safety measure. Like a rabid dog who is a danger to society by no real fault of its own, just takes this motherfucker and end his miserable existence. No need to torture him, just put him down. It is a win-win situation for everyone.

I agree, he should be put down. I hope he’s caught quickly! It’s a disgrace that a child can’t leave his mother’s side for 2 minutes to take a piss without some perverted piece of shit attacking him.

I hope they find him before he has the chance to do this again.. I have 2 boys, 11 & 7.. My husband used to be an over the road truck driver, so, therefore I had to take them into public all the time by myself.. Now, it’s unreasonable to force an 11yr old boy to go into the womens restroom with me, it just humiliates him.. I’ve always been paranoid about this sort of thing. Whenever he goes to the restroom I am sure to stand right outside of the door. I even opened the restroom door at Wal-Mart once and called his name because I thought he was taking too long.. I don’t know understand some people. I hope this poor lil guy recovers quickly from this, and never has to worry about this creep again.

I hope they find this “man” —— DEAD. I believe rehabilitation is possible for almost ANY criminal – except pedophiles, other rapists and serial killers. These are what death row should be filled with. If you’ve been convicted, you get ONE appeal – and that’s that. If you were CAUGHT IN THE ACT or you’ve had MORE THAN ONE VICTIM – NO APPEAL. Straight to “Old Sparky” or the “Needle” or the “Gas Chamber”… period.

Just thinking. I don’t think the boy was the target, I think he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. That guy looks as if he is going there for a purpose in the video. I have heard some restrooms in cities are used for gay sex. It is possible he was waiting, and just took an opportunity, who knows why. Just trying to figure out why someone would do this. None-the-less, he is a sick bastard and needs to do some serious time.
If I were the cops, I would check out Mark Cuban first.

Oh, c’mon, Z! Don’t speak from a position of emotion. You’re a sharp cookie. I’m sure you just forgot that many wrongful convictions are overturned after multiple appeals, right?
Multiple appeals is a necessary element of an accurate system. Besides, it’s not the appeals that make capital punishment so damn expensive, it’s the trial itself.
Now, if you wanted to limit capital punishment to cases where a criminal was definitively caught in the act (and I’m not talking simple witness testimony, either), I could get down with that. Seems like a reasonable compromise, if people are so hard up for death over life w/o parole.
Of course, as much as I appreciate Morbid pimpin’ the death penalty debate in the forums, it’s really a moot point in relation to this and other rape cases. The Supreme Court has ruled that, even in violent child rapes, individuals will not be sentenced to death unless their crime has resulted in the death of their victim (exception: the federal court can sentence people to death for “high crimes” like treason).

It’s stories like this that make it hard to let my children go on their own to the bathroom. It’s one of those things you know you have to do (let go), but I doubt it ever really gets easier.

Dammit, Athena. You’re correct. I didn’t forget the wrongful convictions, necessarily – but I did allow emotion to guide my thoughts.
I guess I am just so sick and tired of kids having to fear so much shit – can’t even trust a child to leave your sight in a BK for 2 minutes to pee without some sick, twisted pervert lurking – just waiting for his chance to pounce and destroy this child’s innocence forever. And KNOWING this sick waste of air will be out in less than 10 years – just to do this again… that just kills me.
Counseling rarely works, castration doesn’t really work, jail time doesn’t work – what is the DETERRENT for these monsters to stop them from doing this the first time? What IS the answer? This guy could escalate – and next time – kill his victim. Does it always have to get to that point before a harsher sentence is imposed?
I think all of this is why I rarely comment on these stories. I truly want pedophiles to die. Seems they are the only criminal “class” with a free ticket to re-offend, harming child after child after child – until they kill one (or more). Someone tell me – what can we do to stop them?
As for the other – agreed. You are caught in the act – you are dead. Done deal.

I absolutely see where you are coming from and I bitch about this all the time, but I have say, jail time DOES work. Not to cure them (you’re right, only death will “cure” a pedophile), but to keep them off the streets). I say mandatory life sentences WITHOUT parole, and of course with that they’d be entitled to appeals. I doubt any of them would be granted an appeal unless there is real evidence they’re innocent, but it will help offset any civil rights considerations behind assigning mandatory life sentences after the first offense. If that is just not feasible, I say a hard 30 years or so without parole for the first offense, mandatory life without parole after that. WITHOUT PAROLE needs to be key here, and all this hand-wringing over pointless sex offender registries would end.

Poor baby. I hate that this happened to him. My son ALWAYS comes in the restroom with me – He is 8. I don’t care what sor of stares I get from women. As long as I know my child is safe. I’m not blaming the mother – I’m just saying. After the little girl in Vegas several of years ago that those young men raped and killed… Call me paranoid.

Veronica’s got it. Increased sentencing. Of course, we won’t have the room to house these individuals unless we get the stick out of our collective ass when it comes to drug crimes.
There’s absolutely nothing stopping us from dramatically increasing sentencing for pedophiles except politics and profit. The truth is, the revolving door approach is more lucrative than long sentences for violent crime.
Unfortunately, Z, there’s nothing that can deter with any consistency. Maybe we can hope to one day eliminate pedophilia from the genetic pool.

That is soooo true! Here in Indiana (Indianapolis) we seem to have good reason to worry:
Registries are basically USELESS! Life in prison sounds like an option to me. Hell, build special prisons just for sex offenders. I hear Wyoming and/or Montana have lots and lots of open land. Build a few humongous prisons out there. Razor wire on 50 foot tall fences that are 10 deep, and their own gardens and barns to grow and raise their own food. Make them WORK for it.
I need to stop – really. I get totally hyped up when I speak on this subject. I hate helplessness. And that’s what I feel when it comes to these predators!

Yup, you’ve nailed it — draconian drug laws are the biggest obstacle in the way of keeping truly violent criminals behind bars for longer, in addition to the prison industrial complex and its insidious lobbying power that both influences sentencing guidelines and, coming full circle, being behind anti-drug propaganda campaigns designed to increase political will for said draconian drug laws. If more people understood what was REALLY behind this sort of head-scratching, why-the-hell-do-pedos-get-off-so-easy mindfuck…pedos getting off easy is just the tip of the iceberg.
