Jeff Meece Has One Helluva Swing

Bloomington, IL – There isn’t a whole lot of information on this one, but apparently, Jeff Meece beat the shit out of his 14-month-old daughter with a baseball bat. Thursday morning, police were called to the home Jeff shared with his mother, Shirley, and nephew, Scott, on a report of a man breaking windows with a bat. When they arrived at the home, Jeff repeatedly told officers, “Someone killed my baby,” and, “I killed my baby.” He later said someone killed Erika with a bat. Jeff, who was acting aggressively toward responding officers, needed to be taken down with a couple doses of pepper spray and a good old tasing. After he was subdued, officers discovered an unresponsive Erika inside the home – she had visible signs of trauma to her face and head – she was brain dead. Erika Meece was pronounced dead shortly after she was transferred to the hospital. AutopsyAutopsy reviews proved her death was due to head injuries consistent with blunt-force trauma. Jeff’s nephew stated that Erika lived with her mother and only visited Jeff a couple times a week. “She was a wonderful kid,” he said. “She enjoyed spending time with her dad on Thursday’s and Friday’sFriday reviews.” Scott and Shirley had been out of the home that morning and returned shortly after the police showed up. Scott also stated that Jeff had a drug problem and often acted strangely as a result. Jeff Meece, 47, is being held on $1 million bail and facing three counts of first-degree murder. When Jeff made his first appearance in court on Friday, he supposedly started balling and cried out, “Oh my God” as the charges against him were read. Boo-hoo, asshole.
