A 15-year-old girl was jogging when a man pulled up beside her in a silver pickup truck and accosted her at gunpoint, telling her to get into the vehicle. She broke free and the witness called police, giving a very detailed description of the vehicle and the man who sped off in it. Green Township, Cincinnati – Here is an idiot for you. At around 9 p.m., 21-year-old Lauren rear-ended David Tewes in a Walgreen’s parking lot. After both got out of their respective vehicles, it was quite apparent that Lauren was shit-faced – her blood alcohol content later determined to be .205. Not wanting to get into any more trouble than she was already in, Lauren did the smart thing and left the scene of the accident. But that was only one of her problems added to her drunken stupidity. The other was the fact that her dumbass got into the vehicle she hit thinking it was hers. Oh, she left her 19-month-old daughter behind in her vehicle as well. She was arrested and charged with child endangering, driving while intoxicated, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to maintain reasonable control of a motor vehicle and a seat belt violation. Nick and his friends are taking a break from their studies enjoying a day at the race track when Nick foresees a catastrophic chain of events that leads to the deaths of a slew of people in attendance, including him and his friends. Gary, IN - Have I mentioned lately how much I hate people? Really – I do. Especially people like Cordell Richardson. When the mother of his child mentioned that she would be moving out of state and taking the kiddo with her, Cordell came unhinged. Instead of taking it like a man, he threw a ginormous hissy fit – telling a friend that, “nobody is going to take my daughter away.” After spending a day with his daughter, 18-month-old Eboni Richardson, Cordell refused to give the child back to her mother. After much begging and pleading with the asshole to return the child, Cordell agreed to meet with his brother-in-law, Jamell Campbell, in the parking lot of a Bennigan’s restaurant Thursday evening, to transfer custody of Eboni. As Jamell approached Cordell’s vehicle, he saw a flash and heard two gunshots. Yep. One for Eboni and one for Cordell. Little Eboni was shot in the stomach and was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Cordell, unfortunately, survived the bullet to his head and remains hospitalized in intensive care. And honestly, I hope he fully recovers and continues to live a long life. I’d love to think that he will be haunted by the face of his dead baby girl every single hour of every single day for the next 50-60 years. It seems my luck has run out. After a highly improbable run of exemplary books, I finally returned to earth with a decidedly mundane selection. Christopher Fowler’s The Victoria Vanishes is a pedestrian exercise in crime fiction that tends to focus more on the drama inside the “Peculiar Crimes Unit” than it does the actual case it purports to solve. The thing is – once Fowler gets around to the actual meat of the book, his story is a rather good one. A killer is on the loose, and he is dispatching his victims in crowded pubs. He is targeting lonely, middle aged women, and administering death at the end of a syringe. If not for the good work of the pathologist, the very existence of a crime would have gone unnoticed. A check of other deaths reveals the work of a serial killer, and our heroes are on the case.   [Read more...]

Jefferson, Wisconsin Babies love movement. It seems to calm them when nothing else seems to. Perhaps it is a ride in the car that does the trick, perhaps one of those swings that run on batteries and a timer. It could be, the only thing to quiet a cranky baby is setting them in their infant carrier/car seat and rocking them gently with your foot as you use your free hands to pop nerve pills into your mouth as though they’re candy. It seems all of these crutches were thought up so parents didn’t spend hours pacing back and forth with a screaming baby in their ears, stiffening up one moment and scrunching up their knees the next, making it a not-so-pleasant introduction to parenthood. Nonetheless, no matter what source of movement you employ to soothe your child, I doubt seriously a single one of you would dream of the extreme resourcefulness Michael Wey exercised:  a little swinging into the wall action. Indianapolis, IN – For years, Monte Ayres, 46, has had an on-again-off-again, and sometimes volatile relationship with his 80-year-old girlfriend, Kathleen Vargas. The relationship began to blossom when Kathleen hired him to cut her grass. Unfortunately, over the past few years, the police had been called to the residence on reports of domestic violence. On more than one occasion, Kathleen had Monte forcibly removed from her home – only to take him back time and time again. The dangerous relationship came to an end on July 18th when Monte sexually assaulted Kathleen. He didn’t just rape her, he violently raped her with some type of object, severely damaging her spleen in the process. (I don’t know about you, but that makes my innards hurt just thinking about it). After the attack on the 18th, Kathleen managed to escape the home she shared with the asshole and seek help from a neighbor. Over the course of the month, Kathleen was unable to recover from the ruptured spleen and her condition slowly degraded- she died Wednesday night. Initially charged with attempted murder, aggravated battery, rape, criminal deviate conduct, and resisting law enforcement, he is now looking at a murder charge pending the autopsy results. Boynton Beach, Florida I’m sure it’s safe to say all of us have walked the same routes to and from someplace so often we become completely aware of what’s in it’s proper place and what’s missing. When I was young, walking home from school was filled with common sights. The same older people who volunteered their time to make sure we all crossed the highway safely, the old lady sitting on her porch with fresh baked cookies or a bowl of candy for us as we returned home. That whole experience gave such a sense of normalcy and general good feeling to those of us passing by. And we’d always look if these people were not within sight, waiting for us. Yet I somehow cannot help but feel sorry for the children who lived along the route of Franklin Davidson, the pervert who liked to call attention to himself to all youngsters crossing his path, only to wave his privates in their general direction. Anadarko, Oklahoma – Christ Holy Sanctified Church was the scene of a murder inside sources have called “horrific“. Silkey Wilson and his wife arrived at the church just before noon on SundaySunday reviews to meet Daniels for Sunday School. But the doors were locked. They tried knocking on the door and honking the horn of Daniels’ car parked outside but did not get a response. So they walked to the nearby police station. That’s when Anadarko officers made entry into the church and discovered Daniels’ body. She had suffered several “sharp force injuries” and her body was staged in an unnatural position. To add to the mystery of what exactly was done to Daniels, District Attorney Bret Burns called the crime scene the worst he’d ever seen in 17 years as a prosecutor – but he would not say why. ALPHARETTA, Georgia – Now this is one creepy son-of-a-bitch. Scott Taylor, 46, has been arrested and charged with Felony Child Molestation. Now that’s sick enough, but it was how he was going about molesting young girls that makes this story even creepier. SurveillanceSurveillance reviews cameras in a Macy’s children department in North Point Mall show Taylor methodically stalling young girls in the store while carrying a small girl’s dress. He would eventually approach a girl and hold the dress up to the little girl and say “you’re about my daughters size, can you hold this dress for me?,” said George Gordon, the Public Information Officer for the Alpharetta Police Department. Then, as the girl held the dress to herself, this guy would fondle her over her clothes.
