Joycelyn Louis Charged With Branding Child With Potato Masher

MIDWEST CITY, Oklahoma - Not a lot of info out on this one yet, but a 72-year-old foster mother has been accused of repeatedly branding her 9-year-old foster child as punishment for stealing. Chief Brandon Clabes, Midwest City Police Department, said “The foster mother accused him of stealing money from her. At that point she took this potato masher, heated it on the stove to where it was red hot & branded him.” But she didn’t do it once, she did it multiple times. Joycelyn Louis told the child to tell anyone who asked about the injuries that it was an accidental burn.  The boy suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns and is back in DHS custody. Police are waiting for a warrant for Louis’ arrest. Holy shit, got some video for ya after the jump:

    What a fucking evil old crab! It’s hard telling what kind of life the poor kid had prior to being placed in her care and then to be subjected to that bitch’s evil? Man. I hope this time he’s somewhere where he feels safe, wanted, and loved.

    don’t care how old she is! charge her, prosecute her and put her mean ass in jail! not just for making this child’s already hard life even harder, but also for giving all foster parents a bad rap. we never hear about the good, selfless and caring foster parents who have more love than kids, the ones who do it for moral and ethical reasons; we only hear about the ones who abuse the trust put in them. shame on her!

    OMFG! Those pics are horrific! That fucking bitch! If the news team can find her, why haven’t the cops found her, yet? This woman seriously needs her ass to be branded 100 x’s so she knows what that poor kid went through! I can’t believe her family has not turned her over to the police! Grrr!

    I have a suggestion: She should be drugged into a very long sleep, then branded on her forehead, “Child Abuser” with a hot stamp. Better yet… tattoo the bitch! I hope someone can help this child with corrective laser surgery or something; he shouldn’t have to go through life with such horrific marks on his body like that.

    I am NOT going to watch this video. As a foster mom/adoptive mom, this absolutely INFURIATES me. The kids are already traumatized!!!! It’s our job to keep them SAFE.

    There are good foster parents out there, but sadly, their numbers are dwindling because the system abuses their generosity.. case in point- my youngest. She was taken away from me..and placed in foster care. the family that had her, loved her to pieces, and were going to try to get permanent guardianship of her, because the state didn’t feel i was ‘fit’ enough to be a parent, they were going to terminate my rights. Everything was set to go, and a lawyer swooped in, saying that there was a family that wanted her, had been waiting 4 yrs to get her. (this is the first any of us heard of this family).. to put it bluntly, foster family stopped doing the foster work, after this.
    we hear all the time about how children are taken out of the care of the natural parents, only to be placed in the care of someone equally, or seriously more dangerous to the children.. but, lemme ask you, how often are the case workers or DCFS/CPS held accountable for this? They always have excuses.. but for the moms who gave birth to these children… if they are poor, they’re screwed. i’m not saying every mother is a good mother.. i’m just sick of seeing this shit happen and nobody does anything about it.

    As to the foster mom in this story, i say we strap her down, like they do the criminals, before lethal injection.. heat an iron up red hot, and start markin’ her up with it.. when she starts screamin’ from the pain, shove a pair of her nasty drawers in her mouth, and put duct tape over it… just keep applying the hot iron, every where there is sensitive skin.. when we’re done with that, i say we douse her ass in tequila and light her up…

    i’m just waitin’ for her ‘family’ to show up and start defending this piece of shit. There is *no* excuse for this to have happened, that child did NOTHING to deserve getting burned.

    i worked with burn patients for awhile, with my aunt… it was sad, the pain they go through.. it’s something i wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy.

    branding is extremly painful, life threatening because of infection and horribly scarring for life. But you knew that. what made her thing it was ok to do? obviously she has no empathy.

    Senile much? Maybe she forgot she spent the money or whatever it is he supposively stole. I think there should be a restriction on ages of foster parents…..72 seems a little old. With that being said, she still did it and should pay the consequences for her actions.

    That child probably did steal but he didnt deserve to have grid marks on his skin – hands arms legs, This is permanent for life scars.

    I personally would cut them off, cut all ties. send them to counceling back to the agency. I refuse to tolerate it – I would provide a place where they wouldnt want to risk leaving. That would be their punishment. sent packing.

    72 year old foster mom?. I know there are some really awesome old people out there, but what concerns me is that these really old people are very old school. They were raised or raised their own children in a time that child abuse was acceptable/ignored. It's not necessarily their fault, but maybe if these older generation people want to foster, a close look into how they were raised or how they raised their children should be done. As well, specific classes addressing acceptable child rearing then and now. I 'm not saying all older people are abusive, but honestly, look at what was acceptable during their “time”. I've met a LOT of “old people” who are sweet and all, but they are set in their ways. Maybe not a good combination for raising troubled children.
