Superintendent Bruce Shelley Loves Children, and Not in a Good Way
July 21, 2009 by Rotten Apple
Henryetta, OK – Bruce Lynn Shelley is a 20 year veteran educator and was recently hired as a superintendent. After only 2 weeks on the job, and during the summer even, he’s been suspended and may be permanently dismissed. A school superintendent. Fired. During the summer. How the hell does that even happen? Aren’t school officials off during the summer? In the famous words of Smokey from the movie FridayFriday reviews
, “You got to be a stupid motherfucker to get fired on your day off.” Truer words have never been spoken. Shelley was suspended and will in all likelihood be fired because has been charged with the rape of a 5 year old relative. Stupid motherfucker.
The father of a 5 year old girl walked in on her involved in some inappropriate activity with a younger sibling. When her mother asked her why she did it, at first she denied doing anything. When told that she was seen and that they needed to know why she did it, she implicated Shelley, saying he had done this to her in the past. Her parents took her to the emergency room where she was checked out and law enforcement was called in.
After the child spoke with a forensic interviewer, the girls mother was told that there was alot that the girl had not divulged to her and she probably would not want to know half of it. The girls mother also believes that the child may have acted out the abuse with her two younger siblings. She is wracked with guilt because the child had reported something like this in october 2007 but a report was not made, and now she is not only dealing with one abused child, she is probably dealing with three. Fuck.
Shelley, who was a loved and trusted family member as well as an educator, was charged with rape by instrumentation in the first degree. He turned himself into authorities and was released the same day on $25,000 bond. Seems kind of low to me. Hopefully, the conditions of his bond at least ensure that he is forced to keep his nasty hands off of the kiddos.

I knew it was going to be something like that. Those poor kids and the 5 year old will be the hardest to rehab, it will be so hard for her to understand. What a fucking prick Bruce Shelley is! Does he have more victims?

Another nasty Okie! Yay. So glad I got out of there.
That poor little girl. It terrifies me to think of something like this happening to my kids. The worst thing is that she DID tell, but her parents didn’t do anything about it!! So here we are two years later…two more years of abuse that she had to suffer. Fucking horrific.

How nightmarish. You know, because the mere charge of child molestation can ruin someone’s life, I can certainly understand our urge to hesitate… but this is the flip side of that coin. It is a very fine line of judgment that has to be walked and, sometimes, people fail. I don’t get the impression that mom was trying to protect anyone when she failed to report the Oct. ‘07 incident; with sex becoming more and more mainstream, it can be difficult to tell the difference between kids relaying something that actually happened versus kids, say, projecting something they saw on TV onto real life characters. I can only imagine the devastation this mother – this entire family – is dealing with.

did i read that right?
“turned himself into authorities and was released the same day on $25,000 bond.”
turned him loose the same fuckin’ day?? why bother to arrest him? just ask him, if it’s not too inconvenient, could he please come to the courthouse on arraignment day and we’ll have this cleared up so he can get back to his bbq.
way to go oklahoma.

How can a mother not believe their child (especially at 3 or 4 years old) when they report such a story. A child that young should have no such knowledge if not first hand.

I see what you’re saying, Athena, but I think when a three year old starts reporting inappropriate behavior, it should be looked into. And if you have any suspicion about someone, at all, you should never leave your child alone with them again. Period.
I don’t think I would ever leave my kids alone with a grown man, family member or not. And I’ve already told my husband I don’t want him to be alone with other people’s kids- not because I don’t trust him, but because what you said is true. A single false accusation can ruin a man’s life, even if he’s found not guilty.

I grew up in SW Ok. I’m not surprised at all that this pedo scum bag was released the same day. That state is infamous for letting pedos go with little more than a slap on the wrist, and that’s only if the courts decide to do anything at all. In my experience the police never do anything. I was told I would have to have parental consent to file charges of abuse even though the charges were against the parents. can you imagine that conversation? “Hey dad, can you come down to the PD wwith me and sign some papers about you abusing me so that the police can arrest you for all those times you did what “all parents have a right to do to their kids”? Not to mention that the chief of police was a kiddie rapist too who, after finally being arrested, was allowed to send his victims threatening letters. And, the previous chief of police was arrested for murdering his estranged wife on the side of the highway in front of his young son who was sitting in the car when dad shot mom in the head. She had stopped to drop off the boy ith daddy for visitation and thought that would be a safe place for hoer since he had battered her for years.BTW, mom and son were in the car when daddy shot her. I refused to raise my children in that state.Child abuse is rampant there and the worst criminals are in the police depts.
