Tammy Truitt Is A Bad Babysitter

Carrollton, Georgia – Last Tuesday, Lashirey Bryant had a family emergency to attend to out of town, so, she put in a call to her regular babysitter, Tammy Truitt, and asked her to come over and take care of the kiddos. Truitt was left in charge of four children, ages ranging from 1-9. Later that day, when the children’s grandmother arrived at the home to relieve the babysitter, she noticed her 1-year-old grandson was lifeless and unresponsive. After an examination at the hospital, it was revealed the little kiddo was drunk off his ass. His BAC was reported to be .33. Whaaaaat? In Georgia, that is considered to be four times the legal limit of drunkenness for an adult.

Through interviews, police came to the conclusion that the babysitter is responsible for giving wine to the child. They found the empty bottle at the sotted tot’s home, and his mother said the wine didn’t come from the house. Police aren’t quite sure what to believe as of yet. One explanation was that she had put a bit of wine in the child’s cup, along with some water. Another explanation she gave was that she had fallen asleep and the tot must have got hold of the wine. “At this point, we don’t know — we have been told several different stories,” said Tony Johnson of the Carrollton Police Department. What they do know, is that the child damn near slipped into a coma. Thankfully, the tot recovered from the boozin’ and was back home on FridayFriday reviews. “It is a miracle that the child did not die from alcohol poisoning, considering how little the baby’s body is, to be able to stand that amount of alcohol in his system,” Johnson said. “An adult can be charged for DUI with a blood alcohol level of .08. A lot of adults can’t function at .33.” I think, at .33, I would probably be swearing off alcohol forever while praying to the porcelain god – quite possibly puking up a few vital organs.

After a 3-day search, authorities located 40-year-old Tammy Pruitt and charged her with first-degree cruelty to children and reckless conduct.
