Mark White Must Love Prison
July 14, 2009 by FlamingFox
Saginaw, MI- Mark E. White, 50, was paroled on June 16 after serving some time in prison for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and violating a previous parole. After being free for a little over three weeks, he must have either gotten really homesick for Bubba’s lovin’ arms or he’s just too stupid to stay out of trouble. Around 2:30 p.m. on July 8, White allegedly robbed the Citizens Bank in Saginaw without thinking of a getaway plan. In a hurry to disappear from the scene of the crime, White decided to flag down a vehicle and hitch a ride. Funny thing is, he chose the wrong car.
The vehicle White flagged down was being driven by Detective Scott Jackson. The detective slowed his car and waited for patrol officer Ian Wegner to provide backup. When White seen the patrol car approaching, he tried opening the passenger door of Jackson’s car without permission. When Jackson told White he was a police officer, White tried to run away, but Officer Wegner was already close enough to nab his dumb ass. White was charged with bank robbery, making a false bomb threat, attempted carjacking, assault with intent to commit a felony and resisting a police officer. His bond was set at $755,000 for White. White was on parole before for unarmed robbery in 1994. That conviction, along with two counts of uttering and publishing, earned him a minimum 10-year sentence that began in 1996.
