Ricky Lee Blackwell Is A Monster

CHESNEE, S.C. - I heard this one on the news this morning, and what Ricky Lee Blackwell, 49, did just absolutely sickens me in just how cold-blooded it was. On Wednesday, Ricky’s estranged wife went to their adult daughter’s trailer to swim. She brought her current boyfriend’s daughter, 8-year-old Heather Center, along with her. At some point Ricky, who lives next door, arrived at the residence. No reports on what kind of exchange happened between Ricky and his estranged wife, but Ricky grabbed Heather in a headlock, and shot her once in the head. He then shot her a few more times as she fell to the ground.

When police arrived on the scene, they found Heather lying face down in a driveway. They could see that she had been shot in the leg, the center of her back, and there was blood coming from her right ear. Ricky eventually emerged from some nearby woods he had been hiding in. This piece of shit, after committing this cowardly act, then committed another by shooting himself in the side when police closed in on him. He has since recovered from surgery and once coherent, he will be charged with murder and kidnapping.

Police say that Ricky has a long criminal record, but are as shocked as we are at what he has done. “I don’t know where you can go in the mind to justify shooting a child,” said Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright. “I don’t understand how you can get so angry.” One neighbor (who wanted to remain unidentified) stated that “Ricky was a fine man…He must have just lost it. I really don’t know why he done what he done. But in my mind, Ricky has always been a fine man.”

My condolences to Heather’s family, I couldn’t possibly fathom what you are going through right now.

Oh my God... that poor girl's family, I can't imagine. If that were my daughter, I would have died right along with her. I don't even know what to say. The man who did this deserves the death penalty and then some.

Where do these stupid neighbors come from? Really a fine man?!! HE JUST SHOT AN EIGHT YEAR OLD GIRL MULTIPLE TIMES!!! You know those cheese slicers with the small roller and the thin wire blade? How about removing all this guys skin using one of those and then stand back with a garden sprayer filled with alcohol and spray him every 10 minutes to ward off infection so he does not die.

Yeah, I'm OK with that in this case.

i can't even imagine what the poor little girl must have been thinking prior to this batshit crazy jackass shooting her. not that anything could ever justify killing a child, but for fuck's sake. this was her BOYFRIEND'S child. not her child, not his child (again, not saying that would be justifiable, but you see things like that happen often, unfortunately). i can't even begin to understand the amount of guilt this woman must feel for ever bringing this asshat into this family's life and the amount of sadness and grief her family will (and currently do) have.

WOW. Just wow.

This asshole killed that little girl to hurt his ex-wife, but more importantly, her boyfriend. He murdered an 8 year old girl. HE was able to look an 8 year old girl in the face -- a complete innocent-- grab her in a headlock, and shoot her in the head. He shot a child in the head INCHES from his own face. What an animal (my apologies to animals). I'm sure this waste of air was just heaven to be married to, as well.

I'm just pissed this pile of trash shot himself in the side. What was the point of that? It's under the chin, buddy; upward and toward the back.

DUNCAN, S.C. -- A memorial service has been planned for an 8-year-old girl who was shot to death on Wednesday.

Visitation for Brooke Center is 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, with a memorial service to follow at 3 p.m. at the Stribling Funeral Home in Duncan. The public is welcome.

A memorial fund has been set up to help pay for help cover the funeral costs. Donations can be made at any Wachovia Bank under the name "Heather Brooke Center."

They are seeking the death penalty.

Her funeral was held Sunday afternoon at Stribling Funeral Home.

Heather Center's casket was carried in a special hearse that can be pulled by a motorcycle and was escorted by a motorcycle group called the Patriot Guard.

The victim's father asked for a motorcycle escort for her casket. In response, about 500 bikers showed up to honor the 8-year-old.

This part got to me. Reminds me of my neice.

The girl's entire baseball team -- the District 5 Dodgers -- were selected to be honorary pallbearers. Heather Brooke Center was the only girl on the team.

"She was just a special girl," said coach Ricky McKinney. "She just tried her best at everything she did, and to be able to get out there and compete with the young boys that she played with, she was just a super, super kid. I just thank God that I was able to know her.

This is truly sad. That little girl was such a cutie, and from what I've read an all around great little kid. Its speakable what this prick did to her. I can only hope the SC state prison inmates step up to the plate and seriously "F" with this guy every single day for the rest of his pathetic life..

This story broke my heart and I can feel chills creeping up to my scalp at the vision of such a monstrous act. A beautiful little girl who had a wonderful life ahead of her except for this evil vile selfish prick who couldn't stand the sight of his ex-wife being happy without him in the picture. R.I.P. little girl. This useless POS should be executed; of course, I hope he gets a "stay of execution" at the last minute, only to have it revoked the next day. I know God will give him his reward for his deed, but it would be nice if we could get some satisfaction before he goes.
