Oklahoma City, OK This story is reminiscent of the darker writings by William Faulkner. When the news story came across the wire, shades of “As I Lay Dying” played out in my head. (If you haven’t, you must read that story.) It’s a tale of a family with a mother who lays down to die while her oldest son builds her coffin outside the bedroom window so she could approve each board used. And she does die, leaves one wish – to be buried in Missouri. Their journey begins from their home in Mississippi in a ass-drawn carriage…and it’s hot… buzzards following them the entire way because momma is now stinking to high heaven. Which is so very close to what the Wolfs must have smelled before they buried their 11 year-old daughter the first time.

Abel and Denise Wolf

In April 2008, Cheyenne Noell Wolf (11) didn’t seem so hungry at suppertime inside their mobile home in Bokchito, Oklahoma. Daddy Abel claims he went on outside to smoke with another daughter for about 15-20 minutes when he heard a “thump” come from inside. When he finally got finished smoking and went to investigate (glad he was in a fucking hurry), he discovered Cheyenne wasn’t quite acting right but checked her pupils and hell, they looked good, so I guess he concluded there wasn’t a problem. (I’m sure glad there was a professional in that family) The next day when he got home from work, his wife Denise must have kissed him, asked how his day was and then maybe broke the news to him this way, “oh, by the way, Cheyenne died”. (She literally waited until he got home from work to tell him Cheyenne had died) Well, being the professional and all, he went in and checked it for himself. Yep. Dead. He could tell because she was cool. WolfWolf reviewsWolf reviews told agents today, he and his wife (Cheyenne’s step-mother) decided not to call it in or report it to the authorities. Had they, I wouldn’t really be writing this up.

After one of the siblings was caught kicking and stomping Cheyenne’s dead body, Abel and Denise decided to move it out of the trailer. Able put her into a sleeping bag, placed the sleeping bag into a plastic tub, and hauled her out back to a shed. Then came the smell. Able then took the body, the sleeping bag, and the tub and buried it all under the front deck of their abode. That is until they decided to move to Montana. I don’t know if it was the outpouring of love felt for his daughter or the risk of leaving her and getting caught that drove him to dig her up and load her with the rest of their stuff. Nonetheless, she got moved over State lines and promptly stored in their new garage. Until the unthinkable happened, one of the other daughters ran away.

Hearing their daughter had ended up in a hospital, and fearing she may drop the dime on their family secret, Abel and Denise saw to it that Cheyenne’s body was moved into Oregon, in a relative’s chicken coop. Then it wasn’t long before they decided to move her one last time, her final resting place (within their control), a storage unit. But it wasn’t the runaway daughter who spilled the beans – it was Denise’s niece. Authorities started investigating the couple in June.

Abel and Denise Wolf were arrested and charged in Montana with “unlawful removal of a body” and are being held without bail and will face the charges in Oklahoma. An autopsy is being conducted on the body to properly identify her as Cheyenne. I’m hoping this is just the beginning of the list of charges that will be facing them. I cannot help but wonder how long they would have left her body in the trailer had their other crazy-ass child not beat the shit out of the corpse. Hell, she would have been okay there but she was skerring the bejebus out of the damn dog. Unbelievable. I’ll try to keep this story updated as more information comes in.

Old Far Side cartoon. Grandpa dies – they set him in the corner and the dog is the only one completely freaked the fuck out. It’s humor. I don’t know if this family had a dog!

Wow what a horrible story so sad for that little girl what she must have went through in her 11 years of life… So sorry little one, yeah i thought that itwas about a dog or something hard story to kinda follow, but fucked up at that, i wish nothing but pure evil things to happen to these two, why don’t we just be done with it and dig two holes and throw them in alive and let them suffocate to death in their holes where they belong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank god NO BAIL on this one

Yes the stomping of her little body by the siblings is disturbing. Their entire story is bullshit if you ask me. I don’t buy it. By the accounts of what the other kids did, and how they buried, dug her up, and buried her again, leads me to believe this two inbreds did something to the little girl.

It will be interesting to see what the autopsy produces. I read several news stories on this case and one smaller story speculated perhaps Cheyenne was beaten to death by another sibling. The fact the father and step mother are being held without bail is, I hope, indicative of more charges to follow.

But yeah, a story that left me saying, What. The. Fuck. as well.

“Not important enough to even call him at work? Their story reeks.”

Justmyluck made the above quote in the forums, and it was a good observation, I was so shocked by the other crap that it didn’t even hit me that their daughter supposedly died, and the mother waited till after the fool got home from work to tell him? That must be a strict job he has, cant even get phone calls to let you know your CHILD died????

I thought the dad was outside smoking with another daughter (probably a six year old) and heard a thump?

I completely agree. I figure it will be harder to determine exactly what happened since it’s been over a year now.

I think the “thump” the father heard must have been when Cheyenne must have been pushed or thrown, maybe hit her head into a wall. Mother killed her is my guess…

The lot of them, a bunch of heartless, dumbass, stupidass, morons.

Rest in peace little Cheyenne…I hope you are at rest now.

I had to read that part 3 times before it registered in my mind. I am wondering what possessed the kid to do that. How many more kids were living with them?

None of the news accounts I read indicated how many children they had. And I understand about having to reread that account of what happened. I did the same with the whole story. It’s truly a glimpse into a dark and twisted world. I still can’t get over leaving Cheyenne’s body in that trailer nor allowing the other children to go in and hang out long enough to start exhibiting further sick behavior.

The story these two asshats gave is a bit far fetched, but certainly weirder things HAVE happened. I’m going to guess that this poor girl was kicked and stomped before she died, not after, and that the parents statement is simply a feeble attempt to explain away the injurys forensics are about to find. I am also going to guess that her sibilings were not the ones who were doing the kicking and stomping, which is why these two loving examples of parenthood went to such great lengths to “bury” their daughter.

I have to agree with V on this one. This story sounds tailored to cover up a serious beating. I wonder about the condition of the body. They hauled that poor child’s corpse around like she was Paris Hilton’s dog Tinkerbelle.

My favorite part is that they blamed one of their kids for the post-mortem beatdown. Nice. Just like that woman who killed her husband with poison and then tried to poison her own daughter to frame her for a murder/suicide.

I wonder which child did they claim stomping and which ran away. Was it the same child? I think it’s a testament to how awesome their parenting is that in additions to one dead child, they a hospitalized runaway & another child, one of whom allegedly stomped on their sisters corpse. These parents are a freak show.

I wonder. What happened to the birth Mom?
Abel Wolf (only not so able) sounds like a Native American name and they were taken into custody near Rocky Boy’s Indian Reservation (which is a home for some Chippewa-Cree)so, were these caring parents just trying to bury Cheyenne in sacred tribal ground?
    Nah, probably not!
These folks are of the twisted tribe…..

I think she got kicked and stomped, but I doubt very much if it was a sibling. Sounds more like the beginning of a cover story to me.

How many levels is this disturbing on? I would rather think about black hole theories. I can wrap my brain around it better.
As for the final resting place, that’s a boner. It would eventually have to be moved once more. How do people like this meet and reproduce?

There is a little update on this story and a picture of Cheyenne.

Investigators are trying to piece together how the little girl who used leg braces and crutches really died and why she took a journey that ended in two plastic tubs marked with Xs.

According to law enforcement affidavits, the Wolfs didn’t tell investigators the cause of Cheyenne’s death but did detail how they transported the girl’s body as they moved from Bokchito to Havre, Mont., and then to Milton-Freewater, Ore

With a search warrant and cooperation from Denise Wolf’s brother, Umatilla County sheriff’s investigators stepped in a storage unit in Milton-Freewater, Ore., at 4 a.m. on July 4 and saw two plastic containers with snap-on lids. They popped them open.
“The weight of the containers and the odor that was emitted from them led us to believe there was some type of decaying flesh in them,” Sheriff John Trumbo said.
Investigators resealed the containers and took them to a refrigerated evidence box. On Wednesday, they drove the containers 210 miles to the medical examiner’s office.
“We found the remains of Cheyenne,” Trumbo said. “My detective sergeant … said he has absolutely no doubt it was her because everything fits.”
But Trumbo said a cause of death may never be determined because of the condition of the body.

Apparently there were two other daughters, Sara, 16, and Skylar. According to the report I read, the two girls are still in Montana. http://www.kten.com/Global/story.asp?S=10666377

According to OK court records, Abel Wolf is set for hearing on 11/8/09. Denise Wolf is set for 11/18/09 but it looks like she is pulling the crazy card.
