D’Amber Myles Couldn’t Keep Her Head Above Water

Las Vegas, Nevada–Raven Gibbons used to have a 5-year-old daughter named D’Amber Myles. D’Amber suffered from cerebral palsy, had the mental capacity of a 2-year-old child, and was only able to use her right arm. Surely, D’Amber required almost constant supervision and care. You certainly wouldn’t want to leave a special needs child alone in the bathtub, not even for a couple of minutes, right? Didn’t seem to bother Raven any to just leave the kid sitting in the tub…she had more important things to do! Like watch TV and stuff. D’Amber couldn’t even hold her head up on her own, and Raven just left her there in the tub, walked out of the bathroom, and shut the door.

When police and paramedics responded, Raven told them she had only left D’Amber alone for about 10 minutes. Which, in all reality, is about 9 minutes and 50 seconds too long. D’Amber drowned. “She could not boost herself out by herself,” police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said. “Her mom had her on her back haunches, and she kind of slumped forward. That’s how her body shape was; she couldn’t hold her head up.” Raven wasn’t even aware that her child was drowning behind the closed bathroom door…she didn’t realize that anything was wrong until she noticed water seeping out from underneath the door. Raven’s claims just weren’t adding up, though. Authorities put Raven’s claim of ‘10 minutes’ to the test and found that it took at least 25 minutes for the tub to overflow. Bitch couldn’t even check on the kid during commercials?
Raven Gibbons, 23, was arrested a couple of days after the drowning and charged with second-degree murder and child neglect with substantial bodily harm. She is being held without bond.

This has “intentional” written all over it. Kids have this knack of interfering with life’s most important things. Like gettin your haierrr did… and watching soap operas… and oh yeah, polishing off an entire box of Krispy Kreme donuts in a sitting. It takes a very special type of love and patience to have a disabled child. To be honest, I am surprised she lived til 5. I am not sure who would have sex with that drooling sea cow anyway, but it’s terribly unfortunate. R.I.P. D’Amber, hopefully the next life treats you better than this one.

Unfortunately, I have to agree with the folks who think this was intentional. She’s certainly “crafting” her story to lessen the appearance of guilt.
If this had been the first week she’d cared for this child, I might buy that none of this was a deliberate act, but instead careless negligence. Leaving a child who is functionally a quadriplegic alone in a bathtub with running water for 20 minutes is the same as giving a healthy child a plugged in toaster to play with.

I’m going to speak my head to you all. I am D’Amber’s auntie and my family and I are very saddend behind this whole thing. D’Amber was a special needs child but also a happy kid she didn’t know that she wasn’t limited she just enjoyed life. She enjoye when we played with her, rolled her in her wheel chair and everything. And I’ve been knowing Raven since before she was pregnant. Raven was a good mother. Her children always had what they needed a house, toys, both parents and love. I feel for myself that It was probably hard for her to look at her child’s limited possibilities while every one else’s child is free to run around and D’Ambie was bound to a wheel chair and could sit up, eat, walk, say “I love you Mommy.” I can say that I loved D’Ambie and I can’t believe that she did this to her. Everytime I seen Ambie I was hurt inside because I felt that she didn’t deserve to be in that kind of physical disability but I over looked it and thought that was just the way the cookie crumbled. At first when this happened I was pissed at raven and I knew that she had to do it deliberately, not because she didn’t love her but probably because she had just got overwhelmed, frustrated, confused and she felt sorryfor her baby. I think of all the things that might have been going through her mind. And we will never know, But I do feel sorry for her she has to deal with the guilt sorrow and pain. I know she regrets doing what she did and she’s all alone because everyone wants to judge her and bad mouth her. I’m no kin to raven my brother is D’Amber’s father and he is just devistated. I can’t imagine what he is going through in his head because his family was his whole way of living. And what tops it all off is that raven is in jail that’s his partner they should be able to share there grief together and now he is all alone. The mother of his kids is in jail for murdering one of them. I don’t know what raven is thinking But i know she’s paying for what she did and it sucks you know becaue 2 perfectly good lives have been taken from my family’s life. You are absolutely right that people should not judge you or your family if they don’t know them, we on demon dreamin just react to certain cases and offer our opinions, because we can’t imagine hurting a child, let alone a helpless sick child with special needs. They lash out at everyone, but truly to you and your whole family my prayers are with you, try to stay strong. about 4 years ago, my first cousin, now he is 28 years old murdered, strangled and buried a pregnant girl and he was the dad, how about that one…. I come from a very very prominent family and well known… Why did this happen? only my cousin, the killer, who I knew my whole life, and loved him and would have never never never imagined he would have done such, but it does and did happen and there is not one day that i don’t think of the poor girl and her family what they go through each day and how my poor aunt and uncle have to face with their only son in prison for life, which he should be for what he did but just to let you know sorry to you and your family and try to just hang in there…

This is a description of what it felt like to almost drown by a man that injured his neck diving off of a diving board. He was rescued but had lost consciousness before they got him out.
It is sheer panic when you can’t get up for air. At some point, your “brain” feels hot (best that I can describe it) and your body reflexively takes the water into your lungs, and your airways BURN.
I read about another the reaction that about half of drowning victims suffer, its called laryngospasm. In these cases the airway seals shut and the victim is asphyxiated by the closed airway. It feels like choking, and anyone that has choked on a piece of food knows that choking blows.
This is what that woman did to that little girl and your upset that we are talking about her?! I think you need to evaluate your outlook on this situation.

You have a right to feel how you feel and so do others. Because of your relation to the family it hits home more than it has others but reality is this situation just does not look right. Based off of the facts, the daughter was neglected wether just on that day or on previous occasions, we do not know. However, on this occasion something horrible resulted from Raven’s actions, something that can not be taken back. Also I would to say to all those using foul language to describe a person who has a name you should as Michael Jackson said, “look at the man in the mirror”. This is a tragedy, and I would like to know just who MoneyMay is, because it sounds as if she is Kin to Raven and not the father as she claims to be.

We can identify, judge (2919), and reprove (1651) those in the church as fornicators (4205), covetous (4123, those greedy to gain, eager to have more, esp. of belongings of other persons), idolators (1496, used of any one, even Christian, who participates in any way in the worship of the heathen), railers (3060), drunkards (3183), and/or extortioners (727) – we cannot fellowship with such people, but must excommunicate them – (1 Corinthians 5:9-13, Ephesians 5:3-7,10-11)
We are to identify and not fellowship with those who do not obey the Word of God, but to admonish (3560) them – (2 Thessalonians 3:14-15, Romans 16:17)

This worthless piece of “human trash” is out on bail and her daughter is dead….where’s the sense in that? I would never leave my child alone in the shower for “10 mins or 10 secs” especially if my child is disabled. The quote unquote family members of Raven and or the Baby Daddy should get a fuckin reality check and realize this fat lazy greedy and money hungry bitch only had her children as a way to not have to work…..she’s purposely killed and innocent child and I wish the DA would get off their ass and do the right thing and re-file the true charges “1st degree Murder” on this Oragutan looking bitch. Anyone that makes excuse for her should stand trial with her for aiding and abetting because they obviously knew beforehand that D’Amber was being abused and did NOTHING!!!!

Getalife, i get my facts from LVMPD obviously there is a lot they can’t divulge to the public yet but the police ARE pushing to have the charges upgraded……..BTW if you and your family would’ve taken this approach in defending D’Amber this thread wouldn’t have ever been made, so apparently you and yours need to getalife, you defend Bullwinkle the Moose but couldn’t defend the poor lil baby….If i see her on the street I’ll do would should’ve been done a long time ago.
