Sounds like a tactic my great grandma woulda used. When she said jump your ass better jump and you wasn’t laying you lazy ass around while there was chores to be done. The beauty of it is, she got enough done with a switch so’s she was able to save the shotgun for those that would threaten her babies…. love you biddy grandma RIP

Sammy is my new hero! Grab the biggest stick you can find. They “got (his) arm all swolled up” for Christs sakes. And he didn’t shoot them, just got their attention, lol. My only disappointment with this story is that he is willing to let them come back.

While the gun was certainly a bad idea, I can appreciate how a senior citizen might feel the need to protect himself when his lazy adult children continue to live off of him. I think some tough love is in order here. These young men need to move into their own place, perhaps as roommates, and begin to stand on their own.

On the one hand, he shares responsibility for enabling their behavior, but I’m sure he’s a bit terrified of them and their youth and strength. The gun was a bad idea, but I can understand it. The shooting was pure idiocy, but there you go.

Been in his shoes a few times (without the gun LOL)
I can fully understand his motivation.
Next time Sammy, just cut off the cable and food.
