that age are curious about everything, always on the move, and forever grabbing anything and everything within reach. Yolanda Pena, Delilah’s mother, discovered how crafty and sneaky a toddler can be after she left a pot of extremely hot water sitting on a kitchen counter. According to Yolanda, the child accidentally tipped the pot over onto herself. Yolanda has a severely scalded and screaming child on her hands and a mess in the kitchen. What’s a mom to do? I know, punish the kid!

And, that’s exactly what Yolanda did. Instead of seeking immediate medical attention for Delilah, she sent her to her room as punishment. Later that evening, after the child had spent most of the day alone in her room, Yolanda discovered that Delilah had stopped breathing. In a surprising twist, Yolanda actually called 911 instead of sticking the kid’s nose in a corner as punishment for not breathing. When police and paramedics arrived, the first thing they noticed was the fact that Delilah was already dead. The second thing they noticed was the first- and second-degree burns to the child’s face, neck, chest, back and arms. The autopsyAutopsy reviews revealed additional injuries to the child’s body, leading police to believe the child had been abused before. Shocking, right? Mommy dearest, Yolanda Pena, 39, was arrested and charged with murder and assault of a child resulting in death. Bail has been set at $1 million. Ugh. holy shoot that poor baby ! my son put his hand on the oven door when he was a year old…I didnt see him come out next to me when i was getting cookies out of the oven! I felt so bad I dropped the cookies in the sink ran cold water over his hand,called the doctor he said i didnt need to bring him in….brought him in anyways….thats what a real mom does when their child gets burned you stupid cunt! RIP you sweet angel!

Horrible way to go. Spent some time in Chapel Hill Burn unit and saw kids with injuries from boiling water. Cannot imagine what her last moments were like aside from being full of extreme pain and terror.
Also brings up the question on if the child is the one who spilled the boiling water on herself, as it’s not like anyone would know one way or the other. Would probably explain Yolanda’s not getting medical care. No way that kid’s injuries were not noticeable and I am sure she was screaming her head off.

my tears literally came down for this one Im grown and when i get burn I cant stand the sting and burning sensation and this Cumbucket didnt feel no type of way seeing her child in pain UNFUCKINBELIEVABLE ………see changing subject a little, I remember we had a discussion on how older moms can be more responsible……. BULLSHIT this back up my point when you are evil you are evil…. a 39-year old cunt let her baby burn and suffer till she expires this hurt me so much I really hope GOD takes care of her and never forgive her for this one. I live in Palm Springs-just 10 minutes up the freeway from La Quinta. It was my first instinct Nadine, to go straight to the Indio Jail and find this bitch. I do know of a few people in there-maybe someone can contact someone and do this bitch in before she even gets the chance to be sentenced to minimal years of bullshit time.

Dying from burns is my ultimate nightmare. I can only imagine how long this little girl was in pain for while her $#% mother was letting her die. Rot in hell bitch.

I am a burn victim to boiling water myself. I was 5 when it happened. Stories like this make my stomach drop and my heart just ache. I can not tell you or even begin to explain the type of pain that boiling water causes. I had first, second and third degree burns. Initially the pain was intense and extremely difficult to deal with… it was hard to breath out.. I just wanted to hold my breath. But, after a lot of tears my body went numb and shock set in. The difference between me and this child; I wasn’t abused and I had a baby sitter who quickly took action.
Poor little baby. Burned, left to suffer and die all alone. I hope her mother is never allowed to have freedom again. I hope she remembers the screams of that child forever. And trust me… you do scream, you can’t help it.

It took 6 months in the hospital and another 6 of rehabilitation. Not to mention the painful skin grafting surgeries.
But it was better than dieing. Sad that this little one wasn’t given medical attention that she deserved.

I live in Southern California and sometimes when I read about shit like this and the people reside in my State, I wonder if I would eventually run into them because of someone that I already know. I cant imagine leaving a 3 year old in a room alone all day unattended period, not to mention a burned and severely injured 3 year old. Can someone please explain to me, why do people like this have kids??? Why??? What is the benefit for someone who has no love or compassion? I dont get it. They dont make you richer. They arent easy to take care of. What is the benefit if you are just going to be unhappy, and ruin their lives, and possibly kill them? It seems that the most idiotic, ignorant people are the ones who pop out children left and right. WHY????

Holy shit! Me too. My mom left me with teenager aunts and they left me alone with a pan of soup on the stove. The skin were I got burned waches just thinking about it.

My bro got boiling liquid toffee on him as a kid. My mother rushed him straight to emergency. He has scars but was okay. My 3 yr old got hit in the chest with a screaming hot kernel of un popped popcorn, it gave her a nasty burn, wasn’t big, I treated it with cold water and took her to the doc anyway. We kept our eyes on it and bathed it in disinfectant till it was healed.I still hate myself for letting her stand too close to the popcorn maker. I have burnt myself so many times, I am extremely clumsy with steam and the fireplace. It hurts like NOTHING on earth and I want to scream and cry until shock sets in. I can’t IMAGINE letting my own or any child suffer through small or large burns. I simply can’t get my head around it. I believe she was always going to put this poor child’s life in danger one way or another. “Normal” people don’t do this…and the evidence of other abuse. Evil is in the eyes. I am so sad.
