Kid is definitely lucky to be alive, but even if he somehow makes a full physical recovery (as, of course, we all hope he does), how in the hell is he supposed to recover emotionally from this? How fucking awful. I cannot even imagine trying to cope with something so horrific. I really hope he's got plenty of supportive people around him, and will get a lot of good, intensive psychological help. :( Jesus.
