    Just because it took you 14 years to finish some post-secondary education doesn’t mean that you’re a doctoral candidate. 14 years of what? Do you have any degrees to go with that lallygagging? That you speak only of “years” and say nothing of a degree is particularly telling. It shouldn’t take more than 8 years to receive a Bachelor’s, Masters and doctorate, if one is a serious student. BTW – completing courses on macrame at the community center doesn’t count as completing a post-secondary curriculum.

    A 39-year-old woman from the Bessemer area who was charged last week with raping a 10-year-old boy told authorities the relationship started when she gave him cigarettes and escalated when they swam together naked in her pool, the Jefferson County sheriff’s office said Wednesday.

    Samantha Canada admitted to having oral sex and intercourse with the boy, a friend of her son’s, sheriff’s spokesman Lt. Randy Christian said.

    Authorities charged her on June 18 with two counts of rape and two counts of sodomy. She is being held in the Jefferson County Jail on bonds totaling $240,000.

    According to Christian, Canada gave details of the progress of their relationship during questioning. The nude swimming led to physical contact and then sexual relations on two occasions, she told authorities.

    On the second occasion, another young friend of Canada’s son walked in on Canada and the boy. Canada admitted that she asked the boys not to tell anyone or she would be arrested, Christian said. She also attempted to bribe her 10-year-old son with an Xbox gaming system if he would not tell.

    Ok. Here is the deal. She really isn’t nuts. I have just had a couple email exchanges with her. There is more to this story, as usual. Nothing that condones what the woman did, but explains a bit on why she did it. I wont be posting any of that, as it could hurt her case (and she is allowed a fair one).

    There is also some victims out there that consist of a husband and some kids who just lost a mother, and lovinghomecare is just doing what she thinks is right to help them – although she isn’t. So with that being said, until any further information on this case comes along, I’m letting this one fade away. She is in jail awaiting her fate, and not much else can be done until then.

    Believe it or not, she really is not a lunatic. She’s just obviously frustrated.

    Please let everyone know I am very sorry for the way I spoke to them. It has been so many years since I talked to anyone that way. This all seems like a nightmare or something that happens only in the news. It really has humbled me beyond anything I have ever had to deal with.

    Well, it is something that I constantly have to keep in mind. That we all should keep in mind. I know that we have had are battles with family and friends of people featured on this site. I know that a lot of times that friends and family members come on this site, teeth gnashing and arms flailing…and the members respond to these people in a similar fashion. Hell, I have done it as well.

    But we have to keep in mind that these people are victims as well. They also suffer, to varying degrees, for what their friends or family have done (or have been arrested for doing). No, they weren’t molested or killed, but I have no doubt some are in a stage of shock, angry, in denial, ready to vent…So it is good that we let these people take that first shot and give them a freebie. Well, at least one freebie. :P
