exactly! those woman have issues – that child spent 55 days in the hospital I do hope she is being well cared for. Good thing she trusted her foster family enough to speak about it or these lady might of gotten away with what they had done. someone needs to perform loa on their asses!

At the end of the video, it states the grandma claims a pot of boiling water (rice) fell on the child.

I don’t think the “freedom of religion” defense works very often, at least legally. You have the right to believe whatever you want, but not necessarily the right to do whatever you want. In most cases where a minor child is involved, I think the courts tend to rule that, if a child is underage, they are incapable of making the choice to forego medical treatment, whereas an adult has that right. So when an adult dies because they won’t accept a blood transfusion, or won’t take insulin, it probably doesn’t make the news, because no law has been broken, and adults have the right to refuse medical care for whatever reason.

Maiming and mayhem in the name of religion. If we had all the problems that religion has ever caused condensed into the size of a marble, the mass would be dense enough to create a black whole which would be the demise our universe.
That’s geek for this is a huge problem. All you Christians take note.
Is that any different than refusing chemo for a kid that has cancer because the lord will fix it?

Freedom of religion? LMAO. Although I wouldn’t be surprised! Somehow, even as fucked up as our judicial system is, I think turning one’s daughter into a flailing human torch, as a means of honoring and practicing their religion, would be quite a stretch.

One day I complained I had a cold and a Jamaican woman brought me some Jamaican rum in a honey jar and a lime. She instructed me alternate sipping the lime and rum after midnight for a sure cure.

I did not do it. I was scared it was some voodoo spell and it remains in my desk. The lime turned into a hard gourd but my drawer smells nice and citrusy.

I’m surprised to read that they aren’t defending this case with freedom of religion.
