Uriel Vargas Alvarado Torched His Girlfriend

Absolutely horrendous injuries. I spent some time at the Chapel Hill burn unit when a relative of mine was spending a few months there. Very sobering experience that changed me for the better. To see 8-year-old kids playing with toy cars – minus ears and a nose. It has a was of sapping the “my life sux!” and the “woe is me” mentality right out of ya’. After a few days of listening to children get skin baths, it also helped solidify the fact that there is no God. And if there ever was, he is now an absentee father at best.

Oh Lord. Another rant is a comin’.

It is one of the big things that gets on my last nerve with religious folk. It happened today – or rather, this morning on the news. We had som hellacious storms blow through last night. Some counties got hit hard enough that inspectors are on there way to see if it had in fact been a tornado. Anyway, an older woman was on the screen describing the sounds of last night, and how fearful she was. She states that she prayed to God to deliver them safely from the storm and asked Him to please make sure no one got hurt. She ended the statement with a small pause and the three words “and he did” with a content smile on her face.

Now I am sure this woman, while ignorant in my eyes, is probably the nicest woman in NC. I have no info to make me think otherwise. But how could she possibly think that God himself was looking over her, to make sure herself, her Ford truck and her humble abode made it through the night – while somewhere in Chapel Hill, a little girl, whose mother had poured boiling water on, is having her skin peeled off while she screamed on the verge of passing out? Where was he then? Must be a bit of that Mysterious Ways bullshit.

Blah! Blah I tell you!

Hey, you all are free to believe in what ever cartoon character you want. But this site was created by, and staffed with, mostly agnostics and atheists. So while I would never tell anyone here not to bring their religious views and silly dogma to light in the comment section of any of these articles, I am telling you that in doing so, you are opening yourself up to scrutiny and ridicule. But I would think that is exactly what you want and would expect. That’s your entire bag, right? Persecution?

But just as I get pissed every time someone wants to throw the “only God can judge” tripe around, I get just as pissed at the absolute ARROGANCE and POMPOUS SELFISHNESS demonstrated by Christians who feel that thy Lord God And Savior Himself answered YOUR prayers to get rid of the goddamned corns on the bottom of your feet, while letting an infants asshole get split apart while being pogo’d on the dick of a deviant. It makes me pretty angry. Not only at the fact some Christians think that their lives are obviously more worthy than another, but at the breeding of apathy created every time someone utters “well they are in a better place” or “God will punish him”.

Because I hate to tell you, the last thing that 2-month old with the split ass saw was the face of a man ejaculating. They went nowhere. They are not skitting around the clouds with a harp. They. Are. Dead. And there will be no hell for the man who did it. The only punishment he will receive are from those of us who have to continue to live with him.

Trust me, I understand WHY you all believe what you do. It is safe. It is comforting. It makes life a lot less scary to think we are being watched over and that when you die and cease to exist, you really didn’t do either. You just entered a new stage of being where you will live for ETERNITY at the feet of your Maker. Hey, sounds cool, I guess. But I am here to tell you that you are old news practicing an art that has been done since men first came out of the trees.

Here…let me show you a couple other things people believed in and worshiped…long before you, and long before Jesus Christ ever built a table.

Sure, it is all kinda funny now, but just like you and YOUR God, it is understandable why some people need this kind of stuff. And hey, if it helps you through the day, and helps you live like a better human being, then I am all for it. But don’t think you can come in here and spout off your religious views without getting called to task for them. Your views are no more off limits than anyone elses, and you may find this hard to fathom – but for some of us, your comments are just as offensive to us as our views are to you.

Not at all. Like we have stated before, the mix of different beliefs is what makes this site, and the comments, interesting.

All are welcome – I don’t care if you worship a petrified turd left behind by a pterodactyl. I just want to remind people that your religious beliefs are not what may become an issue, just you inclusion of its associated dogma. If you feel the need to start quoting stuff (whether that be from the Bible, the Koran, your neighbor’s dog, the instructions your tree gave you last night as you sat naked in front of it, etc) grow some real thick skin and be prepared to get some (positive\negative) feedback.
